  1. Ever wondered how vehicle wrapping or car art is done? The above video shows an ordinary MK7 Golf being turned into a shiny hatchback. The job is performed by London-based car art company, Creative FX. The Golf itself is supplied by UK dealer, Driftbridge Volkswagen. There are two practical advantages that I can think of regarding the transformation. Firstly, a highly reflective surface helps to reduce heat buildup in the cabin. Secondly, the owner does not have to send his car for polishing ever again! We can see that car art needs a lot of patience and attention to details. The Golf in the video needs to be 'de-badged' and 're-badged'; the door handles are removed and put back; extra care is required when going around curved surfaces like the side mirrors. If the video has got you interested in the work performed by Creative FX, here's the link to their website - http://www.fxuk.net/
  2. Just a few days ago, I stumbled on a Facebook page that would interest many car enthusiasts. Known as Hive, the pictures you see here are actually car posters. There are designed by a New Zealander guy who goes by the name of Joel Fletcher. Joel Fletcher (who I strongly believe is a graphic designer) uses his designing knowledge to create these rather incredible looking automotive posters. There is even a video on the page which shows how he makes them and he has mentioned that he uses the Adobe InDesign software. Some of his creations are grouped in one poster, for example the Porsche 911 history poster, and he also has designed several posters of historical race cars. My favourite is a poster of the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ which can be hung in both ways so that one car will appear like a mirror image. Fletcher

    Rusty Car Art

[extract] Rust is something we usually see on old or poorly maintained cars. It is the corrosion of iron and its alloy and usually associated with junk metal. When someone sees a rusted item, in their mind, it is not worth saving or keeping and that item would normally be discarded. Car owners do not want to see rust on their car
  4. If you thought your car was dirty with layers and layers of dust or sand on it and never bothered to clean it off, that would be this man's ideal canvas. His name is Scott Wade and he's from the USA, in San Marcos or wherever that is. I have never seen anything like it before and I doubt there's anything more astonishing that what this man can do. If a normal human being sees a dusty car and decides that he's a bit bored, the most he'd do is probably write some vulgarities or draw a smiley face on a car bonnet or on the rear window. But Scott Wade begs to differ. He turns your unwashed, filthy, dusty possibly piece-of-junk car into a work of art. His medium? The dust that has collected on your windscreen or rear windshield. His work is simply amazing and I think you should see to believe..
