Dear all seniors, I need advice on the below. Involved in accident , own fault. Car was badly damaged. Authorised workshop mentioned total loss. My car is 5 years old and fully paid. COE & PARF value is about $36k. 2nd hand price in the market is about $75k with similar model and age. Allianz Motor Protect comprehensive insurance will pay for market value if declared total loss. Allianz not covers the COE & PARF value. Will I receive 2 separate settlements from Allianz & LTA? Allianz pays the agreed market value of the car, example $75k. LTA refunds the COE & PARF value $36k. How make the claim? How long it normally takes? So total I will get a refund of $111k? Sound like too good to be true. 😅 Many thanks.

While travelling on CTE, a car (Accord) on 1st lane tried to catch up to my car but it ended up colliding with the car in front of it. I was on lane 2. Why it did that is (I suspect) could be I cosmetic zhng my car and the other car was trying to check out my headlights. But it didn't realize the traffic in front of it had slowed down and my lane 2 was still clear. Accord didn't slow in time and end up crashing the car in front. Is this considered my fault? I wasn't affected by the collision and continued on my journey.

Today someone’s car knocked into my car door in car park lot, and left a note to say sorry and offer to repair for me. Already arranged to go to his workshop tomorrow to repair at his expense. How unlucky and lucky I am. Lol.

TL:DR – An impatient lorry driver tries to beat the red light at a cross junction but ends up t-boning and wrecking a Mercedes instead. A horrific accident happened earlier today (9th Feb) at 2.23pm at Choa Chu Kang. It could have all been avoided if the lorry driver had shown some patience. Here’s the video: Rekt Not going to go into too many details, but the lorry certainly did a number on the Mercedes. If it were a lighter car, like a Honda Fit for example, it would have been flung down the bridge. How’s the driver? There are no updates about the driver or the occupants of the Mercedes, but we hope everyone’s okay. Patience please? Is it too hard to ask people to have some patience when they drive? If the lorry driver had just waited for a minute or two, this could have all been avoided. Online Chatter Interesting theory. Might be true. Right? I agree. Multiple cars involved in a bizarre accident along Lornie Road

TL;DR – A Honda Vezel, Mazda 5 and Nissan Note get involved in an accident with multiple public properties damaged A video of an accident uploaded on Instagram caught my attention today. In it, we find a white Honda Vezel, a brown Mazda 5 and a white Nissan Note involved in an accident. Here’s the video 22-second video for your viewing pleasure. Here’s more footage of the accident (at a different angle) Disclaimer The white Vezel might or might not be involved in this accident, or the driver might be a good Samaritan who parked at the side to help the occupants of the front two cars. Damage to public property I count a signboard, a lamppost, a tree and a section of the railings. It looks like it’s going to be an expensive affair for whoever was at fault. That’s weird The biggest question after watching the video – “How did the Note end up on the railings?” Online chatter I legit think this is funny Spread my wings and fly away --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. Attempt to beat red light ends in disaster for this Honda!

What do you do when the lights turn amber? Do you floor the accelerator and hope to make it past, or would you depress the brake pedal and slow down like what your driving instructor taught? The driver of this black SUV probably hopes he had went with the latter. Look what Netizens have to say of the incident... These commenters actually have a good point, by keeping a safe distance and preparing to stop (slow down when approaching traffic junctions!), many accidents such as this can be avoided. So, remember, keep a distance, stay sharp and always be prepared to stop, then you won't have to deal with the headache when your car looks like this. -

Have you ever watched a car accident video and told yourself in your head that “heng ah, it wasn’t me or someone I know”? I guess it’s human nature. The truth of the matter is – Even if you’re the safest driver in the world, all it takes is just one idiot driver to mess it up for you. So what happens if it happens to you or someone within your social circle? Read on to find out. Sometime in the evening yesterday, 28th November 2019, I received a message from one of my closest friends. It was an image of his heavily damaged Honda Freed. That’s how heavily damaged it was. The cause? This Lorry. It was a pretty bone-chilling sight, but the fact that he was messaging me meant that he was fine, so that was a relief. Eventually, he sent over the video footage of the accident. The video includes both the rear and dashcam footage. In the video, my friend, the Freed Driver, let’s call him Jeff, for privacy sake, is filtering into an expressway. A lorry follows suit, loses control and charges straight into the back of the Freed, shattering the glass on the rear windscreen. Also, that's a damn loud bang. In the car There’s no in-car footage, but you can hear a brief exchange of conversations between three people in the car – Jeff and his two passengers. Jeff and the other guy were worried about whether anyone was injured, but the lady, presumably in shock, could only think of one thing. She was carrying Thanksgiving potluck food with her when the crash happened, and you can hear her go “Oh no! The gravy casserole’s everywhere!” Whut? Image taken from bigover.com This is what Casserole looks like. Anyhoo, I’m glad all parties are fine. RIP Casserole. You perished so that others could live. The best Thanksgiving dish yet.

Early last month, I got into a minor accident. I was at fault. Both cars suffered some external dent, no problem to continue driving. Since it's quite minor and I am on NCD protector, I told the other driver to claim against my insurance. We both went through the usual reporting procedure. I got my car repaired in two days, change one door panel. I paid for my own repair of about 1k. I expect the repair of the other car should be the most about similar amount. The other driver sent his car back to the authorise agent. His damage was a dented front bumper and some plastic parts around the fog light area As it's my fault, I really feel sorry for causing trouble to the other driver, so I had been checking with him constantly. After more than a month, his car is still not repaired yet. He waited 2-3 weeks for the insurance to approve his claim, then waiting for parts to arrive (VW MPV), and still waiting. From my past experience few years ago of claiming against others for minor accident, the most was about a week, including insurance survey and repair. Is there change in insurance claim procedure? Anyone know why it's taking so long, or is the other driver not doing it correctly?

Hi everyone… Around one to two weeks ago, I’ve met an accident when I was driving towards to Jurong from Bukit Batok Road. So my accident occurred at a T-Junction where there are traffic lights and red light camera. As I was going straight as the green light favors me, I was driving forward and so when I approached the traffic light, suddenly a car from the right appeared into my direction and then we collided…the front of my car hit the side of her car, so after that I alighted and check whether is she OK or not, and she seems to be fine. Then I asked her to move our cars to the side without taking the picture of the scene (I totally forgot to take picture of the scene so I was at fault for not doing so. I only took pictures of her car plate number and the side of her car which is partly damaged)…. So after we moved our cars to the side, I asked her why did she turned when I was already proceeding straight. She told me that she did not see my car, and also she was rushing for time. I asked her whether is there green light arrow or not, she said that there isn’t but she thought there was no car approaching the traffic light so she made a right turn. However, I was afraid that when she was reporting to the insurance, she might twist the story and claim that it was my fault for hitting the side of her car. (As we do not have camera in our car to record to be our evidence and I don’t think there are any witness there) I have also received call from my dad that they are trying to sue against me for hitting her side of the car and trying to push the blame to me and claim that it is my fault. I am also afraid that she will claim that I beat the red lights but I still remember clearly that it was a green light, she has no green arrow and she turned right, and there are red light cameras. The black arrow indicate that it is my car while the red arrow shows that it is the other party's car. Will that be possible that I might lose my case? I am very worried, and will I get demerit points because of this accident? This is actually my first time getting into a car accident.

I had the unfortunate case of being rear ended last Sat while queuing up for the traffic lights at a cross junction. As my car (Nissan) had a remaining warranty of 2 months left (registered in Jan 2012), I have decided to go to Tan Chong Ubi to report the accident. They gave me 2 options, claim own damage or third party claim. I choose the third party claim from NTUC (the other guy's insurance). But since the boot of my car cannot be closed, I am quite tempted to claim my own damage from AIG (my insurer) and from then claim it from NTUC. The Tan Chong Ubi guy has advised me to go for it if I want to repair my car asap (within 14 days of reporting the accident), but I am aware that I will lose my NCD (currently at 50%), have to pay the excess ($1000) and may be subject to insurance loading when it comes for renewal in Jan 2015. The good thing is, my car can be repaired immediately. Not sure what are your opinions on this.

Hi all, http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/...1213-41019.html I'm very very sadden by what has happen as I know this gal. She is my colleague and we've worked together for more then 3 yrs. I juz spoken to her last week in fact. All of a sudden, during my business trip to China, I've received a shocking news yesterday noon. She has died! I would very much like to know who the hell this driver is. I've received info that its drink driving. 2 passengers, 1 died at 9am yesterday, after 9 hrs fighting in hospital, and the other passenger in critical condition in ICU, and the driver is in general ward with few bruises and cuts... 1 person died. I'm shocked, very shocked and sadden. How can this happen to a woman who I know is strong, talented and extremely hardworking. To whoever this driver is, I heard of what happen that fateful night. I wish you will forever remember this, that, she is forever your ex-gf, and you have single handedly killed her. Leaving her grief stricken family of 2 young brothers and mum. But no worries, we will take care of the family as much as possible. It has brought all my colleagues together to help the family. Today, the brothers went to pick up the body. Don't let me see you Mr driver killer, because, no one, no one will forgive what you did. My most heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family. God bless. We are all by your side and we feel the pain that the family feel as well. I've just flew back to SG. I'm leaving to the wake soon. Rgds

Was on the way to Changi airport yst to pick up relatives. Saw a accident involving taxis and private car. The road along the airport is quite a mess now. If you drive to airport once in a blue moon, better watch out. The road has become hazardous particularly with the long queues of taxi IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. This is due to the relocation of terminal 1's taxi arrival and car park. And I'm sure the accident I saw wasn't the first nor the last. Pls drive cautiously slow upon sight of airport.

Drink driving? Speeding? RIP to the lorry driver. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/lorry-driver-dies-volkswagen-driver-arrested-after-morning-crash-on-bke The New Paper Wednesday, Dec 24, 2014 A collision between a lorry and a sports car yesterday morning left one driver dead and the other arrested. The front of the sports car, which was about 80m away from the lorry, was wrecked, with a fallen bumper and a broken windscreen. The lorry driver was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, a Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman said. His family members were at the mortuary yesterday but declined to speak to reporters. The New Paper understands that the sports car driver, who is in his 20s, had minor injuries. IN SHOCK He was seen sitting by the road in shock as two friends comforted him, Lianhe Wanbao reported. It is believed that he initially refused to go to the hospital, but was later sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He was later arrested for causing death by a negligent act, said a police spokesman. Police investigations are ongoing.
