  1. When the video has no audio, you know who is to blame already. What happened? A camcar tried to cut into the left lane on Loyang Way (yellow box btw). Unfortunately for him, the lorry behind him was having none of it. Since the video has no audio we do not know what made the camcar back out, though a big honk is always a good deterrent. After securing his position in the lane, the lorry driver followed up by flipping off the camcar and a few more angry gestures. He went back into the car, and just when you thought it was over… Honestly? Good aim. I could see bro calculate the spread of water and the distance to reach the camcar. Online chatter If the camcar uploaded the footage to rally people to his side, it backfired. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. The brakes on the car must be good, rider was wearing no protection and still escaped unscathed. What happened? On 11 September 2023, at Yishun Industrial Street 1 (because OF COURSE it was at Yishun), a food delivery rider on a PAB (Power Assisted Bicycle) ignored a stop line at a junction and was subsequently hit by a car. The car was going at around 30km/h and unable to avoid the rider, who was already onto the road and stopped moving like a deer in headlights. Upon impact, the rider was thrown off his bike and rolled on the road a couple times before getting back up. Rather smoothly, I must say. In an amazing stroke of luck, the rider seemed uninjured, despite not wearing a helmet or any protection. Incredibly, the rider was unsatisfied with simply getting away from a crash unscathed, and demanded compensation for the incident. What phone is worth $1800? And what loss of income bro?? Online chatter Quite a few people felt the demands were unjustified, with many different reasons. Others simply urged the camcar to just make a police report and claim their insurance instead. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Parking on double yellow? Someone thought some extra yellow would be helpful. What happened? A camcar submitted footage of someone approaching the car and supposedly peeing on it at night on 4th August. We see two people approaching the car in the video, while one of them goes off screen. If there was no context to this video we would never stick around to watch for more than 10 seconds. There is no concrete proof that someone peed on the car other than a still picture of some fluid on a bumper. I will say though, considering the two shown on camera weren’t carrying an umbrella, I doubt it was rain. So, SUS. Online chatter Quite a number of Facebook users noted how the camcar was parking illegally, as there were two yellow lines on the road in the video. Others also say the camcar deserved it for parking that way, and made jokes about the pee.
  4. If anyone would like to have some furniture for their home, apparently just driving around could net you some free goods! Whether or not you’ll get them in good condition, however, is another issue. What happened? A driver on the Central Expressway (CTE) was on his merry way when a lorry started hurling furniture onto the road. The white dresser (looks like it?) slid off the top of the lorry straight onto the driver’s path, getting run over and destroyed. Bro almost got hit with a blue shell from Mario Kart. The driver who submitted the video was quoted saying “Lucky didn't hit my windscreen. TP pls watch out for these dangerous overloaded pickup.” Pretty reasonable reaction if you ask me. Online chatter Others agreed, thinking this situation would be dangerous especially for riders. Many blamed the lorry for being irresponsible, as it was overpacked and on the wrong lane (among other reasons). ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. This could have gone horribly wrong if not for the camcar’s situational awareness. What happened? On 5 June 2023, a camcar and his friends were on a trip to Genting when they encountered some “police officers”. In the Facebook post, the camcar was in Kulai when 3 men in a Honda tried to wave them down and get them to stop. The men were wearing police vests and facemasks, using blinkers and flashlights in order to get the camcar to pullover. The camcar suspected something was wrong and focused on not letting the Honda get ahead and stop them. The camcar called the actual police, who told them not to stop and go to the nearest police station if still followed. Online chatter People praised the camcar for spreading this information, preventing others from getting caught in the same trap. On a lighter note, many roasted the impostors for the slow car. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 6. TL,DR - BMW driver tries to be a cheapskate and has skill issue, ends up needing to pay more than just parking fees Guys… I’m running out of things to say for situations like these. Especially when certain vehicles are involved. What happened? A BMW 318 driver in Boon Lay Place decided to skip paying parking fees and that it’d be a good idea to pay for insurance claims instead. This is shown from how close they were tailgating the camcar. I have not driven in a while, but I am very sure that’s not a “safe distance”. I was promptly proven right because the BMW driver did not stop in time when the camcar stopped to enter the road. This led to an audible knock against the camcar’s rear bumper. The owner of the camcar got out in order to confront the BMW driver, though the audio of their conversation was too soft to hear in the video. According to the Facebook post, the BMW driver claimed that the camcar driver was busy using his HP and other “lame rubbish”, forcing the BMW driver to reverse. In the original Facebook post, the camcar was quoted as saying “Tailgate also no standard bang people rear.” I like how this implies the camcar also tailgates others but is much better at it than the BMW driver. Online chatter You already know the first thing people are going to make fun of. The next thing people made fun of is how the driver could afford such a car but not the parking fees, especially since now he will have to pay more in the end than just a few dollars. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 7. TLDR - The meme before the video starts This situation is just free entertainment for the camcar. The meme below sums up all you need to know honestly. What happened? A Toyota MPV driver on the causeway decided to start a fight with a Honda Vezel. We don’t have any context to this as the video starts here, but I assume it’s because the Vezel is trying to cut the queue and go first. The Toyota driver got out and kicked the Vezel in the side. That kick had some oomph to it. Some words were exchanged when the passenger of the Vezel decides to step out in the driver’s place. Reminds me of Jojo stands, or sending your Pokemon out to do battle. The two men proceed to argue, with the Toyota driver gesturing to his vehicle. I assume this is to point out his car is in front. You might be thinking this is obvious, but the Vezel driver sure doesn’t think so. Both sides have raised hands. There’s a lot of pointing and pushing around before the Toyota driver eventually concedes and goes back into his car before driving off. The Vezel passenger lingers and waits for him to leave before going back into the car, as if expecting a sudden comeback. And finally the queue moves again. It’s a shame there’s no audio. Online chatter Some people criticised not the fact that the argument happened, but that it didn’t escalate to blows being exchanged. Two others noted the Toyota driver starting it by kicking the Honda. Humans are dark… Others made jokes about how they look like they were going to kiss, or how the Vezel driver sent to passenger out to find in their stead (John Wick 4, IYKYK) ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 8. TLDR - Camcar is trying to do a three point turn, uncle does not let him and unleashes his limited vocabulary Love watching adults act like children when those same adults probably criticise my generation. What happened? A camcar at Buangkok link was trying to do a 3-point turn when a Honda Jazz operated by an unpleasant uncle was blocking him from completing the manoeuvre. The camcar was quoted in the Facebook post saying that he was trying to exit a corner loading lot to do a 3-point turn. However, he needed more space to complete the turn as the kerb and walkway was on the right of his car. Wanting him to shift his car, the camcar let out a quick beep to catch the Honda driver’s attention. But instead of shifting, the Honda instead reversed to block his way. Of course, the video starts with the uncle in the Jazz being the aggressor, so we have no way to verify the camcar’s story. Nonetheless, the uncle’s behaviour certainly doesn’t help his case. The uncle instantly starts with flipping the bird. He then honks and shakes his flipped bird as if it somehow does some mental damage to the camcar. Instead, it gives me mental damage knowing people like this exist. Impressively, he challenges the camcar by bidding him forward, all while keeping his middle finger extended. That takes practice. A bystander off-camera comes along and some exchanges in a Chinese dialect take place. Unfortunately, I can’t translate so if anyone understands do put it in the comments below. The whole video is pretty much the back and forth between the camcar and uncle, with mostly swearing on the uncle's end. But I’ll leave with my favourite bit in the video. clideo_editor_d4998cebb5804692a790bbac2755e623.mp4 Bro, you cannot tell me that if you raised the pitches of their voices, it would not sound like children. Online chatter There was an abundance of jokes about the uncle’s middle finger. Others questioned if the uncle genuinely reacted that way or if the camcar was hiding the footage of what happened before all this. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 9. One of the key features of an SUV is the ability to go off road. To use the same car you would pick up your groceries and kids one day and go on mud and sand the next. However, this is Singapore. The only sand and mud we have are off limits to cars (as far as I can find). That didn’t stop a determined Honda Vezel driver from testing his capabilities though. Watch this video to see what I mean. What happened? A Honda Vezel was seen at Simei Carpark driving over a kerb and carrying on as if nothing happened. It appears as though the driver was trying to leave the car park but forgot to turn enough to hit the exit. Instead, he drove straight through a parking lot in order to correct his course and finally leave. Rip to his undercarriage. Let’s watch that again. He could have reversed and prevented any possible damage to the car, like any other sensible person. But this must be some high-level driver’s thinking that I cannot comprehend until I drive for a minimum of 20 years. Comment down below if you think so too! Let the jokes come in You know there had to be jokes after something like that. Notably about what driving school he came from. w My soul would leave my body if I felt my car go over an entire kerb. Others also made jokes about how he was using the car as it was meant to be driven. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 10. The popular saying, "It takes 2 hands to clap" has stuck around for a long time; and it could not be more true for many drivers locally and worldwide. I think most Singaporean drivers have this phrase engraved into their hearts, haha! Recently, a video showing a Mercedes-Benz S-Class (cool car) misbehaving on the PIE (not cool behaviour) on the way to the ECP made its rounds on the various Facebook traffic communities, garnering a lot of activity in the comment section. Video here, below: Laying it down As you can see, the video has it all: showing the Mercedes swerving from lane to lane abruptly, flashing the hazard lights and of course, playing the braking game! These are very dangerous actions to make as they will endanger the safety of other road users by acting so recklessly. Wait... Could there be a backstory here? That's what we're all asking here, and that's what we all want to know! We should be asking ourselves, does it make sense for the owner of an expensive car to act out like that for no reason? Why risk the demerit points, and the opportunity to drive around? That's where the adage "It takes 2 hands to clap" comes in mind. We were thinking--- since the video was cut and edited, there could have been a series of events that occurred before the misdemeanours occurred. Court of public opinion Netizens weighed in, and readers can see that many of them share the same idea: People were suspicious of the cam car's intentions. Yes, why not post the whole video? More and more people chimed in: We want to see too! Oh dear... Like we said before, "it takes 2 hands to clap." The popular conclusion was that the cam car driver must have done something to provoke the Mercedes driver, causing him to lash out in such a manner. But of course with such antics, backlash also came: After all, roads should be safe for all to use. There were also more level-headed commentators: We agree! A better use of his resources for sure. We saved the best for last: Yes, the Mercedes driver may have been angered by rudeness from the camcar as speculated. But that doesn't mean he should be reacting like this, nor should he be acting rashly and potentially causing road accidents with innocent motorists. An eye for an eye makes the world go blind We never like to see such cases happen. Since we are all sharing the road, it would do everyone some good to step back, take a breather and be the bigger person. It may be hard not to react to that sudden lane cut, or the rude honk from behind, but in the long run, it'll be better for you and your mental wellbeing. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 11. TLDR; Nissan driver engages in reckless lane change that could have led to a severe collision. Watch the video for yourself below Black Nissan NV350 was caught on camera recklessly lane changing at Exit 15 to Yio Chu Kang Road on CTE towards SLE, cutting it extremely close to the camcar and potentially resulting in a collision. The camcar then had to swerve and brake in order to avoid colliding with the Nissan. It almost seems like the Nissan vehicle did not check his blindspot and the lane before recklessly changing into a lane that was already occupied. This seems like extremely irresponsible behavior that could have resulted in massive damage if a collision had occurred. According to Traffic Police, reckless or dangerous driving could potentially warrant you liable to an imprisonment period of up to 12 months as well as a fine of up to $5000 or both. This is so as to promote road safety as well as to discourage reckless driving on roads. Netizen Comments Netizens express their take at the situation above, criticizing both the Nissan driver as well as placing partial blame on the driver of the camcar. Personally, I think that reckless lane changing on roads should definitely be harshly punished before irreversible consequences occur. But with a different perspective, could this near collision have been avoided if either car had slowed down? Could this have been avoided if either car had given way and slowed down? Live and let live, a little patience goes a long way. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 12. A Mercedes-Benz C180 was caught swerving abruptly between lanes from Punggol Road all the way to Rivervale Lane. This led to netizen suspicions that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence. Watch the video for yourself below: 293321461_569060238102925_3729722432454140138_n.mp4 At the end of the video, the driver comes out of the car and stumbles toward the cam car. It’s highly suspected that the driver must be under some kind of influence, this behaviour does not seem like something a sober person would do It’s also ridiculous how he managed to feel entitled enough to be angry at the cam car driver despite him being the one driving recklessly on the road. Some people do deserve to be knocked down a few pegs. But, as always, there's two sides to a coin. It is uncertain as to what happened prior to the start of the video. Maybe the cam car driver antagonised the C180 driver? Netizen Comments Netizens have expressed their suspicions of the Mercedes driver being under the influence, as well as criticizing him for playing the victim I hope this man can receive the proper punishment that he deserves after endangering other lives on the road. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 13. Camcar footage was caught of a Mercedes Benz flouting multiple traffic regulations, first crossing over chevron lines to attempt to overtake the camcar, followed by refusing to give way at the pedestrian crossing. Watch the video for yourself below Drive Of Mercedes #ST15C driving dangerously..mp4 At the start of the video, you can clearly see the Mercedes EQA250 Driver blatantly cross the chevron markings in an attempt to overtake the cam car. This makes the Mercedes driver liable to a penalty of a $150 fine as well as 3 demerit points. Not only that, but the Mercedes driver was also caught refusing to give way to pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing. For that, the Mercedes driver could have been liable to a a $150 fine as well as 6 demerit points. It can be seen on the video footage that two pedestrians were waiting to cross at the traffic light According to Singapore Statutes Online based on the Road Traffic Act, precedence is supposed to be given for pedestrians, cyclists, mobility vehicle users as well as PMD riders. Any “driver of a vehicle who is in the process of turning his vehicle at a road intersection or junction where there is a pedestrian crossing shall stop his vehicle in order to give way to any pedestrian, cyclist, mobility vehicle user or PMD rider who is either crossing or is starting to cross the intersection or junction. “ TLDR; this basically means that drivers must give way to pedestrians lah! Though the camcar posted the footage hoping to criticize the Benz driver, the camcar seemed to also have been flouting traffic regulations by crossing the double white lines as well, exposing his violations in the process. For crossing over the double white lines, the camcar could have also been liable to 4 demerit points and a $150 fine. The Mercedes Benz also seemed to have engaged in brake checking, which while is not a traffic offense in Singapore, is considered reckless driving and extremely inconsiderate behavior. The Mercedes Benz driver was seen coming out of his vehicle at the end of the video, perhaps hoping to settle his score with the camcar. Netizen Comments Netizens seem to be unanimous in criticizing both the camcar and the Mercedes Benz, sensing that something suspicious is afloat since the footage was cut. Personally, I believe that both of them should be held liable, let this be a lesson learnt to value safety on roads. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 14. A motorcyclist was caught in a collision with the back of the camcar while in the middle of checking his blindspot. Watch the video for yourself below 289442118_5402399956483655_5591737215663982744_n.mp4 It is not known as to what injuries the cyclist has sustained, but let’s hope that he manages to recuperate fast from this incident. This video was sourced from Tiktok, and has surfaced on the Facebook page, ROADS.sg. It does not seem like any traffic laws were broken in the process of this incident and seems to just be an unfortunate accident incurred by the motorcyclist. Motorcyclists are definitely more prone to accidents on the road than closed vehicles like cars. Being less visible to other drivers, pedestrians as well as less stable than four-wheeled vehicles, it places them at an increased vulnerability to accidents. They are also required to be much more aware and alert regarding their surroundings and are more vulnerable to weather hazards and road conditions. Netizen Comments Netizens attempt to give their take on this unfortunate incident, both attributing blame and showing their concern Let this be a lesson to treat road safety with the utmost importance and be wary of our surroundings on the highways. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community.
