  1. Hi, I just hit a curb at high speed! tyre punture and rim bent. had replaced the rim and tyre. At the same time I did alignment. However the person asked me to change my camber bolt as my car camber cannot adjust. Did not do it, just adjust toe only. If my camber is off, do I need to purchase the camber nut to adjust camber? Anything is that the wheel that hit the curb, it was nearer to the back fender now. should be castor off. anyway to fit it to the original position? Thanks in advance! oh ya, I am driving a honda jazz GD 1.
  2. Hyundai Avante. Went to Kenny and was told my left camber -1.4 my right camber -2.1. Any solution beside changing the entire upper arm.
  3. Went for 2nd tire rotation after 20k Inner wall all "eaten" up. Suggest to go alignment Went and done... Results as shown. Question: why after alignment still got Red for camber? Seriously I wonder why I didn't take note when he pass the results to me after I asked for it...
  4. I am shocked to see such extreme wheels camber extented to it's maximum and funniest part was the owner won few trophy Wondering how the steering feels while the car on the move, I believe turning would be very hard to hold on to the steer turning angle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgIrDyUEBjY

  6. I went to do wheel alignment today and somewhat surprised to see that my rear has a camber of 2.5 degrees and front is just 1 degree. No idea why also....... Then....... the alignment is pretty much intact. They adjusted something like 0.4 degrees for right front wheel and 0.45 for rear toe.......Wasted my $80........
  7. I didn't know whether this belonged to performance and tuning section or tyres and rim section or whichever section suspension modifications fall under. But given the ridiculous nature, I think it belongs to Lite and Ez instead Can someone tell me what the benefits of such extreme negative camber are?
  8. selling the above..google for its usage! $50. self collect at jurong or sin ming
  9. 1. Based on my preliminary understanding on wheel alignment, there are 3 areas to be alignmed, i.e. toe, castor and camber. a) Toe - increase in toe-in will typically reduce over-steer and toe-out to reduce under-steer. RWD tend to toe-in to benefit its rearward movement. FWD usually have slight toe-out to improve handling. b) Caster - for adjusting forward and rearward wheel position. Increaseing forward usually improve steering effort, straight line, high speed and cornering. c) Camber - to alter the angle of the wheel relative to a vertical line. Lowered car usually result in a negative camber angle, hence require aftermarket camber kits to adjust the angle. A lowered car without camber kit may have its tyre sidewall wear out faster and thus loose grip. 2. So to optimise handling, for FWD, slight toe-out and forwarding castet should improve handling. So what sort of adjustment in turn of degree do you guys go for? or no one actually bother about this . Regards, Regards,

  11. just installed coilovers on fri & have been waiting for suspension to sit in. currently ride is positive camber & toe out for both front wheels. would like to seek opinions on CAMBER & TOE which i'll be doing soon once e camber screw is in. CAMBER was told for normal driving camber should set to -0.5 degree while for cornering purposes should set to -1 degree & finally track purposes -1.5 degree. is this correct? TOE is the normal toe ZERO? understand some stock cars are meant to be toe in. wat's e benefit for a car being toe in? will these 2 issues be resolved by computer alightment wkshops coz i don't have much of a choice. there's only 2 known with the correct software for my ride

  14. 1. Is an adjustable rear camber kit a necessity if you installed aftermakret coilover and lower your height, for example, 3 fingers front and 4 fingers at rear. 2. What about the front camber kit too? Please advise. Thank you very much. Regards,

  16. Just got my Rear Upper Camber Arm (D-Max) and Rear Toe Arm (ORT) installed. Got the RUCA from Imperial Concepts and the RTA from the ORT drift team from Thailand during the last D1 Grand Prix at Shah Alam. The RUCA was installed prior to the D1GP at Imperial Concepts, wheras the RTA was DIY-installed by myself (loads of grime on my hands after that). The car was then aligned by Vincent (who happens to be my OC during my days in the army) at Teo Hin Tires (thank you very much for all the support). [inline Rear.jpg] [inline Align.jpg]
  17. where got sell camber kit bushings? any guys know any shops selling?
  18. hi guys, i drive a suzuki carry 1.3 petrol van, and notice that the front wheels have a positive camber, ie the wheels 'tilt' outwards at the top. if you look from the front view of the vehicle, the front wheels form a mild V shape, and this is causing uneven wear, the outside edge of my front tires wear out real quick, like in 10k+ km. but i noticed this is not only my problem, other same model vans i observed also have this, but is there any way to fix it? im changing to a new set of G3's soon, dont want uneven wear to kill my new 'sports' tires
  19. are they really important if you lower your car?
  20. hey guys...after lowering my car...the rear wheels became from | | to / ...heard that the benefit wld be beta handling around corners bt the drawback wld be uneven tyre wear...is there a nid to correct this camber setting and get a camber kit or leave it as it is?
  21. is camber kit a must after lowering your car?
  22. There are such thing in Auto world.. Understand the whole thing about camber-ing, but is it neccesary? I saw a poster in regards to the above, and claim that it is neccesary to camber yr ride if u upgraded yr rims, or lowered yr ride. Have done the camber, and ride feel better... Any recommendations?
  23. I've my wheel aligned and according to the printed report, it says: Front Left Toe: 0.1mm (Manufacturer recommendation: IN 0 +/- 3) Right Toe: 0.1mm (Manufacturer recommendation: IN 0 +/- 3) Left Camber: -1.6deg (Manufacturer recommendation: 0 +/- 45') Right Camber: -1.5deg (Manufacturer recommendation: 0 +/- 45') Rear Left Toe: -0.2mm (Manufacturer recommendation: IN 1 +/- 3) Right Toe: -0.2mm (Manufacturer recommendation: IN 1 +/- 3) Left Camber: -0.7deg (Manufacturer recommendation: -1 +/- 45') Right Camber: -1.1deg (Manufacturer recommendation: -1 +/- 45') Are the above ok ? P.S: I went back to have my steering wheel straightened after the alignment, and I do not have the report again. Will the adjustment go out and should I go back to Stamford Tyre to request for another report ?
  24. Hi everyone! Yesterday I went for my alignment (at a new cheapo shop). After a while, the mechanic told me that my front tyres had a camber L +1.00 and R +0.50 degrees. He said he wanted to adjust it to perfect, but my camber nut is fixed one. Not adjustable ones. Therefore, he suggested that he change it to those adjustable ones for $30 each. (I needed 4, $120) I turned down the offer citing that I will send it to my agent for warranty repairs (within 3 years still, but now 45K liao. Don't know if still can) The mechanice then told me that for such repairs, it's not under warranty.... Infact, with my own eyes, I could see my tyres bending inwards too. they look like this shape -> / (frontal view of tyres) My question is: 1) Could the design of my Mazda 323 be like this originally? (front tyres camber are designed to be bent inwards. 2) Would it be alright for me to modify the camber nut to those adjustable ones? So that I can adjust it to perfectly straight? 3) Another thing is: Strangely, 2 weeks ago, I changed my 4 tyres. From what I see, the tyres' worn pattern seems very even and distributed. (reasonable mah) I think, for alignment to go off, it can be within a few days right? Coz I've been taking care of my car (more or less lah ) what could be wrong? Or nothings' wrong? 4) Or was that guy trying to pull a fast one on me? But...but...but...I can see my tyres slanted leh..... Anyway, my plan is to call the Mazda agent on monday and see what advise they can give me too. But right now, I'm quite worried... Coz I don't want to waste my new tyres... Although they are Kumho, but they are great man! Please advise, thanks.
