  1. We have a food crisis upon us, a war in the north, countries restricting exports, fuels prices climbing new highs constantly and our property prices still going up and up.. There seems to be a constant pressure on us to conserve, spend less or worse stop living well. This is MCF, and whilst everyone is affected, being drivers, we aren't in the lowest echelons of the society, and are more likely to be in the middle, but it also means we are sandwiched between enjoying our current lifestyle and trying to pay all the bills on time, without resorted to more loans, defaults and compromises that have dire consequences. So maybe we can get real tips from bros on how to lean burn with dignity, whilst keeping the bellies full and yet live fulfilling lives and encourage one another. So please share, not merely make fun, but do share how to make it work and get out out the crisis well both physically and mentally, even spiritually. - our finances are like an input output chart.. INPUT: - we can try to earn more, but that can be hard in the middle of a crisis -- eg changing to a higher paying job if we get a chance -- get more / better returns for our investments -- get alternate revenue streams OUTPUT: - here there are more choices that bros can share... -- cut down on overseas trips or switch to a cheaper holiday destination, eg Asia-Pac holiday instead of Europe and a shorter duration -- using cheaper fuels -- household brands -- eat good food, but eat at less expensive venues -- cook at home more -- watch movies at home instead of in the cinemas -- keep healthy to save on medical bills, -- exercise more and enjoy the outdoors, pretend it's a trip and camp locally or just take a tour around SG -- use free resources like the library - did you know they have DVDs? -- use free online streaming, legal ones eg Viu, Mewatch -- buy one movie and watch with your buddies together -- take up free hobbies -- help someone else who is in need more - this may cost you time and money, but it can be cathartic, and be good for your mind and soul I heard some friends who are really stressed about the current times, and maybe it's time we can share ideas on how to overcomes things. Not everyone is equally affected, and some may be thriving in these times, but lets encourage and be a pillar and friend to others in these times... Hope others can share too

  5. When people said Porsche’s new hybrid supercar was hot, well. . . they weren’t kidding. Watch as this state of the art hybrid sports car, ironically, burns to the ground at a gas station in Toronto, Canada. The mid-engined 887 hp supercar is capable of hitting 214 mph and can also achieve Prius-like fuel economy. The asking price for one of these ultra-rare supercars (just 918 will be made) is an astonishing $845,000. Earlier this year Porsche recalled every single one of its GT3 sports car to replace the engine after several reports of engine fires.

    Twist of luck

Like the old saying goes, you win some, you lose some. In this case, Connecticut Powerball winner Rahul Patel, saw his one-week old Audi R8 destroyed by fire. According to a report from the Connecticut Post, Patel was driving the German sports car in Fairfield when he suddenly noticed smoke coming out of the engine compartment. After he pulled over on the side of the road and stepped out to see what was wrong with the two-seater sports car, it went up in flames. Lucky for him that he stepped out of the car just in time! While no one was injured during the incident, the $140,000 R8 was almost burnt to the ground. Fire officials said they are still investigating the cause of the fire. Luckily for Patel, the winning part [lottery ticket] was substantially higher than the losing part [Audi R8] as the 33-year-old Newington resident claimed a $25 million Powerball Jackpot prize last summer from a $1 ticket. He opted to take the prize as a one-time cash lump sum, receiving some $12.5 million, which ended up being around $8.7 million after federal and state taxes.

  16. With massive stimulation by the federal government, include big deficit spending and increases in the money supply via quantitative easing, the economy may partially rebound and unemployment may begin to ease temporarily, said Wiedemer. But longer-term, the basic problems that are hurting the economy and killing jobs will not go away and unemployment will rise even higher than the current 10 percent.
  17. Formula one living legend, Michael Schumacher could be returning to the GP circuit following his announcement that he has agreed to join back Mercedes nfrom the next season beginning 2010. A German daily newspaper Bild, adds that Schumacher and Mercedes have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract and will announce the deal sometime next week. Schumacher's people declined comment, while Mercedes gave only a cryptic "there is always speculation as long as one seat in our team is not taken." When a battery of journalists queried whether he is genuinely contemplating a return to the grand prix grid at the age of 41 in 2010, Schumacher enigmatically told Brazilian website Terra:

  23. Since there is so much "hype" given to Skoda in the recent times and our group getting bigger & bigger, as discussed briefly at our last meetup, I thought to have this pole and suggestion. We could go to Malakka, Port Dickson, KL, Penang, Kota Bharu. Info Malakka - Nothing much to do but just relax and visit the historical places. Maybe some golf. Port Dickson - Nothing much to do just relax in resort and maybe some surf or water sport and also some golf. KL - Night clubs, Shopping, many eating places, not much rest as there's a lot to do. Penang - Beach, Excellent food, R&R, Night clubs Kota Bharu - Beach, 2200 Km (up & down), kampong food, R&R Which one would you guys prefer? What dates is good for you guys? I can arrange the stay in resort or hotel with a collection of funds. Fuel at your own cost. Forgot to add before, can you guys post a reply when you vote pls? Thanks in advance
