  2. Malaysian road bullies smashed S'pore car in JB -- because driver didn't give way STOMPer angry's car was badly smashed by a group of men in Johor Bahru at about 3am last Sunday (Apr 17), all because he failed to give way to a Malaysia-registered car. Said the STOMPer: "I went to JB for drinks, petrol, car wash and food. This happened at Stulang Laut (the ZON), which is popular among Singaporean drivers for its seafood. "The attack is believed to have started from a misunderstanding due to my failure to give way to a red Malaysian car that emerged from a small lane. "I had proceeded following behind the car in front of me and shortly, trouble came. My car was stopped by another man at the gate of the ZON. "The passengers in this red car rushed to my door and smashed the window with their fists and I can clearly see one man with a steering wheel lock. "I quickly drove off and soon, I saw more people chasing after my car. These were people on motorcycles and everything turned chaotic. "This attack happened all the way from Stulang Laut to the JB customs. I drove into the customs to sought protection from the police and surprisingly, these attackers followed me all the way into the customs and carried on smashing the car. "There were just a few police officers and they got us (there were two other friends with me) out of the car. But after we were out of the car, they carried on with the attack and even jumped on the roof of my car." According to the STOMPer, about 20 men attacked his car that night. He found out from Malaysian police later that only nine people were arrested, and among them were three 15-year-old minors. He added: "I had been chased by two Malaysian cars and at least 10 motorcycles that night. "I had numerous helmets being thrown at my car and several attempts by the two cars to corner my car. I am a frequent visitor to JB for the cheap food and petrol. "I am writing this to inform fellow drivers, that JB is totally not safe at all and we are always the vulnerable victims." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...because_of.html

  5. Home > ST Forum > Online Story Holland V. valets' bullying tactics I REFER to reports on Tuesday and Wednesday, 'Holland V. valets to close' and 'Holland V. valets not leaving'. Coincidentally, I had my first unpleasant encounter with the Holland Village valets last Saturday afternoon and strongly advocate stopping their operations for several reasons. First, these valets engage in bullying tactics which penalise drivers who do not use their services. I was repeatedly prevented from using newly vacated parking lots by valets who blocked and rushed into these lots without concern for vehicle safety. When I finally found a lot after a 45-minute wait, a valet honked at me incessantly as I reversed into the lot, supposedly to intimidate me into giving it up. Second, these valets do not operate in accordance with parking regulations. Valets carry a stack of parking coupons, using them on multiple cars as they enter and vacate the lots with a time period. Furthermore, I observed that a parking attendant did not issue a summons for an expired coupon, but merely notified the valet to replace it. Lastly, HDB carparks should by right be open to all paying members of the public without discrimination. I deem it unfair that an additional $8 paid to a valet should give a driver priority to a HDB parking lot I pay the same amount to use. 6. These two men allegedly hurled verbal abuse at a STOMPer and banged the table, in an apparent bid to reserve the table for themselves though the table was occupied first. Said Joyce, in her email to STOMP: "We just talked about the trishaw rider bullied by these angmohs. "Well, this happened yesterday (3 Nov) to myself and a friend. "We were just resting at Isetan Scotts cinema level when two big-sized angmohs came to share our seats without the least courtesy of informing us. "Well, we do not own the seats but at least we arrived first and were occupying it. "Out of nowhere, the one on the right started to hurl abuse at my friend by saying something to him. "I think he's quite drunk butwe were so tired that we didn't even wanna talk to each other and where the hell we got energy to talk to some rude idiots who forced to occupy our table. "To my horror, this guy got very emotional and even banged on the table. "We decided to leave and well, tell him to go back to his country if he wants to be a bully. "We left and call for the security for help and were very very very disappointed that the building management can't do anything to interfere in such matters. "I called for the police and had to repeat myself three times on my exact locations, after 30mins, still none of the police turned up and the two shameless angmohs walked away just like that. "One guy told me he overheard the angmoh saying that this is a trick to occupy the table to themselves. "How stupid! Two fully grown big-sized men come out with stupid ideas to "snatch" table. "It's easy to get a PR or even be a FT here, but don't come here to bully people." STOMP has contacted Shaw Centre for a response. Watch this space for updates.
