Toyota MR2 Well, it's no longer a secret that the Bugatti Veyron is the world's fastest production car. With that being said, I can understand why there's a fair number of people in this world who desire to have one example of the supercar of their very own. Unfortunately, such a fast supercar bears a very high price tag and thus, not every single person in this world can afford to buy one. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that there's no solution to it, as in the case of this Toyota MR2. Bugatti Veyron plastic body kit Well, I can say that the owner of the car must really desire the Bugatti Veyron. He prepared everything to make his car completely look like the world's fastest production car ever built. The owner wraps his Toyota with a plastic body kit resembling the body of the Veyron. Mind you, the plastic body kit even comes with a fake rear engine compartment as well! Well, I think the owner is quite satisfied with his work. His original Toyota MR2 now looks just like the supercar he's always dreamed of, except for the somehow rather long wheelbase, perhaps. While the owner may have successfully transformed the exterior of his Toyota MR2 into that of the Bugatti Veyron, I wonder how he feels when people notice that the engine doesn't sound as awesome as that of the real W16 engine implanted on a Veyron. But then again, not everyone is aware of how a Bugatti Veyron really sounds, I guess. Toyota MR2 Spyder Although there's no mistake in pursuing one's dream, I would rather stick to the original MR2 or, maybe even better, the owner should have transformed the car into the Toyota MR2 Spyder instead as it will give him a better result, I believe.

The seven-speed dual clutch transmission system in the Bugatti Veyron is one tough component. And it comes to no surprise when Ricardo (the company that built the transmission used in the Veyron) has recently announced that they have extended their contract with Bugatti for another two years as it could be the only dual clutch transmission capable of handling huge power. In fact, it was Bugatti who placed an order for a further two years of production of the advanced dual clutch transmission which was co-developed between them and Ricardo. The joint effort of designing, developing and manufacturing of the transmission system surrounds the transmission hardware, electronic control unit and its software. This research and design effort enables the transmission to withstand huge amount of power that we already know the Bugatti Veyron is capable of. The transmission is used in the Veyron and all of its sub-models. According to a Ricardo employee, they are pleased to see a further extension of the collaboration between them and Bugatti. And they look forward to two further very successful years in the story of this truly great automobile with its advanced Ricardo transmission The Bugatti Veyron is the only model offered by the automaker currently and it was available since 2005. For the last seven years, the company has remained in existence with the Veyron alone but many felt that the car is approaching towards the end of its model life span. Typically, when an automaker is phasing out a certain model, the company will tease us with a picture or two of how the next model will look like. But Bugatti is no typical car manufacturer and there is no news of a replacement model. So where or on what will Bugatti use these transmissions? There are several rumoured possibilities. In this current so-called economic climate, it would not be a surprise to most people that many are cutting down on their expenses. Especially when buying a car, many would consider what car they could get that is within their budget. Some would look into practicality and some would consider styling or performance. And there are even some who would consider all the three abovementioned factors. Shelby SuperCars has managed to register sales for 10 of their upcoming Tuatara model in a country where buying a US$1.3 million car is considered common or nothing. This is a perfect example to show that it is not difficult for a supercar manufacturer to sell their expensive cars in this current economic situation. US supercar manufacture, Shelby SuperCars made a trip recently to the UAE for the Dubai International Motor Show. The trip was to launch and promote their upcoming Tuatara model and also to find a company to import and distribute the car in that region, where some of the richest people in the world live. During the auto show, the company not only attracted potential distributors but they also attracted a fair amount of potential customers and the company managed to seal 10 orders during the auto show which amounted to US$13 million dollars. And the best part is, Shelby SuperCars has not yet finished the production of their Tuatara model. Collecting model scale cars can be a quite expensive hobby especially those who are particular with the amount of real-life details copied onto the scale models. Prices can range from a mere $5 up to the hundreds and even thousands, for those limited editions made by high-end scale model car companies. This Lamborghini Aventador scale model is rather unique. The reason why I would say that is because the value is much more expensive (worth around US$4.7 million) than a real life one. This scale model is made by a German scale model builder named Robert Gulpen and he made this item using very expensive materials. The model is roughly 1/8 the size of a real Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. It is built entirely out of precious metals; such as gold and platinum, diamonds and even carbon fibre. This is not the first time he had built something like this. Previously, he had built a solid gold 1/18 Bugatti Veyron scale model. With his previous successful model scale Veyron, Gulpen intends to seek out a new scale build with the Aventador as he feels that he car has an uncompromising design. The result is rather spectacular. The car features solid gold suspension design, platinum cast wheels, gold plated carbon fibre body panels and seats lined with over 700 diamonds. If these luxurious items are not enough, Gulpen will add more exclusive modifications to the scale model. The scale model car will be put on auction and Gulpen hopes to raise more than US$670,000 through the auction. He also hopes to enter into the Guinness Book of World Records for creating the world

Bugatti will showcase three special editions of its Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport at the Dubai International Motor Show. They say that money does not necessarily buy you taste. I'll leave you guys to judge based on these special edition Veyrons. This yellow one in particular looks rather, too bright, I must say. This blue and orange one is slightly better, although the interior is still a bit garish. This green one though, comes across as quite tasteful actually, in my opinion. What do you think? -

I'm sure you would have read the news of this guy in the US who built a Bugatti Veyron replica by hand, by recrafting his Mecury Cougar coupe. (In case you don't know what a Mercury Cougar is, here's a picture) Now, while tastes can be questioned, you have to admire his effort. Apparently, the man behind the project, Mike Duff, took nine months to completely reshape his car, from a dull American coupe, into an exotic French supercar. Well, at least in looks anyway. Under the bonnet, the car is still a wheezy 2.5-litre V6 with 170bhp, or less than 20% of the Veyron's 1000bhp. However, the converted 'Veyron' can actually sit four. And guess what, it can be yours! The car is available for sale on eBay, and if you have US$79,000 lying around, and somewhere in the US to keep it, this unique creation is up for grabs. Any takers?

If you happened to have a lot of cash even after spending it on a Bugatti Veyron then you're in luck! There's another vehicle which you can splurge on, just that this goes on water. Its called the Sang Bleu speedboat and i guess its main purpose is to let the nautical community know that not only are you rich enough to own a Veyron on land, but now you can have one to ride the waves as well! Designed by Ben Walsh who is a Royal College of Art graduate who currently works at PSA Peugeot Citroen mulling over interior designs. Probably got bored with tile colours and fabric, and this popped into his mind. The 30 foot yacht is made of carbon fibre and aluminum which is similar to the car its based on. With its sensuous curves meeting at the rear end of the boat suggests that it will be powered by a single propeller, and possibly a huge engine. Maybe even the W16 Quad Turbo found in the Veyron. Its definitely not finalised yet, but prices are expected to soar north of the 1.7 million pound price tag.

Anyone fancy A Bathing Ape? Or BAPE in short. This Japanese fashion icon of a brand is one of the leaders in Japanese streetwear. The brand is like Fubu, Quicksilver or whatever trendy streetwise fashion you can think of out there. BAPE clothing is flashy, uses original artwork and uses posh materials. Favorite designs feature the famed and iconic ape (from Planet of the Apes) logo is used throughout the whole range of BAPE goodies, accessories, hoodies, jackets, t-shirts and shoes too. Of course, BAPE founder Tomoaki "Nigo" Nagao customizes his own cars to full BAPE specification too. Much to the dismay, shock or joy of others. According to Nigo, the founder of BAPE, the name "BAPE" is short for "A Bathing Ape In Lukewarm Water" which basically is a reference to Japanese people like taking daily long lukewarm baths as a means of over indulgence. Whatever that means, BAPE has made Nigo-San extreme rich. So rich that he recently (sometime mid 2009) spent a thick wad of cash to do a modernized take on the original 1950s Mercedes 300SL Gullwing but with a BAPE theme. The classic 1954 300SL has a BAPE camo paintjob, where you can see the head of the Ape as part of the camo pattern. It has an updated suspension running on current spec AMG rims. But the real piece de resistance is that 6.0liter V8 AMG custom made engine specced for the car. Check out the plaque that has been put on the car. When you are responsible for many Formula One World Championships and devastatingly fast supercars such as the new McLaren MP4-12C, you're entitled to speak your mind. The executive chairman and part owner of the McLaren Group, Ron Dennis, has earned a reputation for his outspoken opinion and this time directed his criticism toward the venerable Bugatti Veyron by calling it a 'complete piece of junk'. The 63 year-old was being interviewed by Arabian Business when he said he could not even find a single aspect of the Bugatti Veyron that makes him feel good and called it 'pig ugly'. He also commented that the Veyron can't handle very well. Dennis then went on to refer to a BBC Top Gear comparison of his previous supercar, the McLaren F1, against the Bugatti's technological tour de force. He described how the V12-powered F1 trounced the 16-cylinder Veyron so many times off the line that the filming crew got frustrated because his car was supposed to be beaten. Eventually the Veyron stopped dropping its clutch on take-off and was able to catch up to the McLaren F1. The Bugatti Veyron is powered by an 8.0-litre, quad turbo engine making 736 kW. In contrast, the McLaren F1 had a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre kicking out 468kW. It will be interesting to see Bugatti's response to these comments made by Ron Dennis.
