Dear all, I am driving an OPC and got hit from behind recently in KL, Malaysia. As a result, the rear panel and bumper were dented and the OPC car number plate bracket was detached. Note that the number plate seal is fine, just that the metal bracket (a rod) connecting car plate from inside the bumper which was welded to the car body got detached at the welded part. Since the accident happened in KL, the other party has offered to pay for a workshop to repair my bumper at her cost. However, I would like to know if its ok to just weld back the car plate bracket without applying the permission from LTA since I do not need to break the car plate seal. Also, is there any standards governing the bracket welding? I don't want the LTA to say that i have tempered the car plate in my next inspection when they see that the welding is new. Appreciate if any bros or sis here can advise on this matter if you happen to know about the car plate seal bracket welding. Singapore workshop has advised me to replaced the whole bumper and that requires approval from LTA to break the number plate seal while malaysia workshop can just patch the bumper crack for me but they have no idea how to handle the car plate seal. The other party is a Malay auntie, and she didn't tailgate, it just happened that she was observing the main road traffic while trying to filter out but failed to check whether I have already filtered out. So I don't want her to pay so much. It'll be a lot cheaper for the other party to pay for the damage (SGD1k vs RM600). Any advise is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Recently redo v-Kool film for my Windsreen, they stain the radio bracket due to strong acidic washing solution (It whiten the grey color away with about 20 cent size spot). They offer a re-spray on the bracket from accessory shop. I wonder if the finishing will be smooth or coarse. Will the respray color be fading after a long perod due to hot sun at open car park then it becomes my own problem in future. The current finishing is smooth. Mind to advise it or has the similar experience? Perhaps I shall insist for a replacement of original radio bracket. It is estima 2010. Next Monay the manager will discuss with me on this matter. I hope that the spare part is not expensive then the company can afford the mistake for part replacement.

Do you think this is true? "Low" income couple of $5000 can buy new HDB which is $$$ "High" income couple of $10,000 must buy either resale or condo which is $$$$$$ So at the end of the day, one couple may stay in a more "atas" address but everyone is paying through the nose and other than cosmetic differences, floor area is about the same. If the income ceiling is raised, $5000 couple will be damn pissed because the high income earner is now competing with them for flats. But in reality supply is not really a problem, just that a certain horse last time don't want to build.

Want to change the HU on my second hand car from a 1-Din to 2-Din, but the current bracket/casing I have is for 1-Din (and it is something I don't want to retain). Mechanic told me that brackets are not interchangable amongst all car models, so have to look for 1 that fits my ride, and he doesn't have it. I drive a Celica, anyone knows where to get the bracket I need? Or even where I can replace my 1-Din casing, because it is ugly. Thanks for any help!!

As said above. Where can I get a new bracket for a 1985 EP70 Starlet. Are there ways to DIY make one with Toyogo plastic containers?
