Why so many people buy bmws when so many say its unreliable and spends a lot of time in the garage getting fixed?

Major recall for 2012-14 F30 BMW 3 Series with N20/N26 for dangerous loss of braking Delivery of N20 and N26 powered vehicles stopped as a result of power brake assist problem On September 26th, BMW of North America announced to NHTSA its intention to conduct a voluntary Recall on certain 2012-2014 model year BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3 and Z4 models equipped with the N20 or N26 engine, produced from May 2012 to August 2013. Affected vehicles in dealer inventories will not be sold or delivered to customers until the recall repair has been performed. Vehicles at BMW vehicle delivery centers will be corrected before shipment to dealerships. The Problem: The oil supply from the intake camshaft to the brake vacuum pump can become restricted. If this happens the brake vacuum pump could fail due to lack of lubrication, resulting in a loss of power brake assist. The hydraulic brakes will still function to stop the vehicle but without power assist. Without assist the driver will need to apply much greater pedal pressure to stop the vehicle. The distance required to stop the vehicle will increase as most drivers will not be able to apply enough brake pedal pressure. In the event of a loss of brake power assist pull the emergency brake and apply as much brake pedal pressure as possible. If your BMW has an electronic parking brake pull up and hold the switch to engage the brake. Move away from traffic and park in a safe location as soon as possible. About 10,000 BMW 5- and 6-series cars sold here are affected by a global safety recall of 1.3 million vehicles. This is believed to be the biggest exercise in Singapore involving BMW, last year's best-selling brand. The flaw - found in cars made between 2003 and 2010 - pertains to a battery cable cover that may have been mounted incorrectly. The carmaker said this could result in an electrical malfunction and, in the worst case, an electrical fire. But it said that it had not come across any injury or accident arising from the flaw. Was in Tokyo 2 weeks ago for the Auto Salon. Here are some BMWs. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - The BMWs There were quite a number of BMWs on display at TAS this year and since my blog stemmed from my love of the marque, i shall start of my TAS postings with the cars from Bavaria! ERJ Sports Development had a pair of fattened E90 sedans looking race ready with their "ZeroFighter" kit. Laptorr's M3 was sitting close by. Arma showed off their newly boosted Z4 sDrive23i. Up to slightly over 300 horses from 200 odd. Impressive. I really liked the splash graphics on the sides. Rowen also had a Z4 on their stand. They call it, the "White Wolf". It was nice to see an E36 still on display. This one had pretty cool silver carbon elements. BBS had a 1M from Studie wearing their very sexy, very expensive and very lightweight BBS FIs. FI for Forged Individual. How light? In 19" size, a wheel will come in at slightly below 7.4 kgs. Amazing. Amongst all the BMWs on show, F10s were the choice of most tuners this year. Work wheels had an F10. So did 3D Design. So did Studie. Showcasing an ACS'd F10.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with this little bugger earlier in the afternoon! Bloody hell you told me after 12 and then you were there before 12!!! LOL Ok we went on a testing spree... ok its only 2 cars for him and 3 for me Tested the S40 T5, BMW 520 and I tested the Z4 as well. Final verdict ---> BMW only. Now I need to decide whether its the new E90, the current coupe or cabriolet or the Z4 3 final options to make. No other brands in consideration anymore! The Z4 is a real cracker! Its damn shiok to drive. The acceleration is very good (not the fastest car around but its good enough). The road holding is excellent! I went to South Buona Vista and powered through the bends with speeds at around 70km/h and there's no body roll whatsoever Walan I fell in love sia Looks may be a lil controversial but I think it grows on you. Well at least for me The SE is a real nice lady. I won't reveal her name less she wants privacy but you guys looking for a good PML SE... please PM me and I will give you her contact number
