1. Anyone looking for more excitement in life? Is this extreme enough for anyone? How about Holding on to your parachute with just one hand, and jump out of the plane. And make sure you dont lose the grip on the parachute with your bare hands when you activate it mid-air! I support the other guy with the parachute is the back up.....meaning if the first guy cannot hold on to the parachute....then the back-up guy has to 'fly' to the the first guy and somehow try to grap him before both land on the ground dead!

5. By Agence France-Presse, Updated: 11/05/2011 Babies who are breast-fed for several months develop fewer behavioural problems in early childhood than those who are bottle-fed, researchers have said. The British study which involved around 10,000 mothers and their babies found that breastfeeding for at least four months lowered the risk of behavioural problems in children aged five by one third. Researchers say the findings, published in the journal Archives of Disease in Childhood, add to a wealth of existing evidence on the benefits of breastfeeding. Children raised on bottled milk formula tended to show more signs of anxiety, hyperactivity or lying and stealing, researchers found. "Were not necessarily talking about tearaway, unmanageable five-year-old kids," said Maria Quigley from Oxford University, who led the research. "It might be unusual anxiousness, restlessness, inability to socialise with other children or play fully in groups." Scientists said the results could be explained either by the fatty acids in breast milk which aid brain development or the bonding between mother and child, which may affect learned behaviour. Researchers from the Universities of Oxford, Essex, York and University College London analysed data from a survey of 10,037 infants born in the UK between 2000 and 2001, who took part in the the wider Millennium Cohort Study. Mothers were asked to assess the behaviour of their children by the age of five, giving scores for different behaviours, such as clinginess and restlessness. Raw figures showed that only six percent of breast-fed children were given abnormal scores indicating behavioural problems, compared with 16 percent of formula-fed children. However, mothers who breast-fed tend to be older, better educated and from a higher socio-economic background than those who don't, the study said. Researchers therefore adjusted the figures to take those factors into account, concluding that there was a 30 percent greater risk of behavioural problems among formula-fed children. "Our results provide even more evidence for the benefits of breastfeeding," Quigley added. "Mothers who want to breastfeed should be given all the support they need." Janet Fyle, from the Royal College of Midwives, agreed that the study backed evidence that breastfeeding is best for babies but warned against victimising women who choose not to. "We need to be careful to keep a balance when interpreting the results, so that we do not send a negative message to mothers that they have failed or make them feel guilty because they bottle-fed their babies," she said. Regards,

7. Hello all, Just to seek some opinions and advise from MCF members and experience professional. I've just committed to an AD for a new car, and here comes my dilemma... The car comes with a 18' matte/silver colored rims and I do not like the color. I've always been fan of shinny chrome rims as it is easy to clean and wash daily. Is it advisable to purchase a new set of chrome rims (same size 18') and use back the tyres, or it is better to keep the OEM rims and have them chromed so that the performance is not wrongly compromised by the newly purchased chrome rims? If the latter is true, then where in SG can get this service for chroming the rims? TIA
8. For a budget daily driver, is Proton or Perodua better? Interested criteria would be running costs, maintenance and overall reliability. Is there any unspoken consensus here or across the causeway which brand is preferred? Also, Proton is no longer selling in Singapore?
9. Nowadays, more and more new car model have replaced the hand brake with the foot pedal brake. Any one knows what is the main reason for the change? Maybe cost savings perhaps as I don't see this as an improvement. With the hand brake visible next to us, we sometimes still forget to release it before moving off. Wonder if the hand brake now changed to foot pedal brake, will this kind of mistake be more frequent? Any bro or sis using foot padel brake can share their experience?
10. Hi all, I've not been to these 2 places. Just wondering which is a better choice for an island getaway for family with young children. Likely to stopover at Putrajaya prior going towards either one of them. Want to catch the smelly tofu at Cheras . In term of parking, which is more convenient at the jetty? since can't get the car into the island. Welcome feedback and suggestions. Thank you very much. Regards,

14. While the tax hike on diesel has affected businesses and cabbies, the move will help discourage usage of the fuel and create a better and healthier living environment, said Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Baey Yam Keng. He noted that the land transport sector is the second-largest source of emissions in Singapore, and this has to be addressed as the land transport system expands. To do so, the Government is also promoting commuting modes such as car-sharing, trains and personal mobility devices, managing vehicle growth and usage, and encouraging the adoption of cleaner and more carbon-efficient vehicles, he said. MPs Lee Bee Wah (Nee Soon GRC) and Gan Thiam Poh (Ang Mo Kio GRC) yesterday raised concerns about the hike, as they called for more support to mitigate the impact on cabbies and businesses. Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat had announced a doubling in excise duty on diesel fuel from 10 cents a litre to 20 cents last week. This took effect from Feb 18. Yesterday, Ms Lee pointed out that no lead time or grace period was given, and many service providers which use diesel vehicles have lost money overnight. She called for ComfortDelGro, the largest taxi operator here, to at least absorb part of the diesel tax hike. Meanwhile, Mr Gan said certain heavy machinery and special purpose vehicles have no diesel alternatives in the market, and appealed for firms and operators using them to be exempted from the hike. In his speech, Mr Baey listed several ways in which the Government is helping to cushion the impact of the diesel tax increase. Related Story What's behind diesel tax increase? Related Story Singapore Budget 2019: Diesel duty at pumps doubles to 20 cents per litre Related Story Diesel duty hike will filter down to some consumers: Industry The annual special tax for taxis has been reduced by $850, and Mr Baey said he was glad that all taxi operators have pledged to pass on the entire savings to cabbies in the form of rental reductions and, for some, Medisave top-ups. ComfortDelGro cabbies driving a diesel taxi that is five years or older can get a $100 voucher if they convert to a hybrid taxi by the end of next month, he added, urging other taxi operators to offer similar incentives and more non-diesel options. On concerns from parents about school bus fares, Mr Baey said the Government is helping operators through a new road tax rebate scheme for all diesel buses, for a three-year period from August. All diesel school buses, diesel private-hire buses and excursion buses ferrying schoolchildren will also get an additional cash rebate for three years from August. Mr Ang Hin Kee (Ang Mo Kio GRC) said after the sitting that he hoped more taxi firms would take up Mr Baey's call to support cabbies. But the National Taxi Association's executive adviser added that rebates like the $100 voucher from ComfortDelGro offer only slight reprieve to taxi drivers, as the daily rental rate for a hybrid taxi is $120, compared with $100 for a diesel taxi. "Taxi firms should look into lowering the rental rates. If not, cabbies may not switch to hybrid taxis, and instead clock longer hours and distances on their diesel cabs to cover the higher diesel rates. "This runs contrary to the intention of the tax hike," Mr Ang said. https://www.straitstimes.com/politics/baey-diesel-tax-hike-for-better-living-environment

16. I currently own a Chery T11 for 1y3m and have a rather large looking family of four. To tell you the truth, T11 is becoming a backache for my family cause it is quite cramped in the rear. Now, we're looking for a spacious car which needs to look and feel good. So far, our family is impressed with Kia Sorento and Dodge Journey. So, anybody has an idea of what car suits our family? You can suggest new car if you think that it suits our family also...

20. Please remove if already posted. If not please help to rename the title. Looks like a brighter future for bus commuters ..... if they succeed, http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=12931 The Straits Times reported that Tower Transit which had submitted the third lowest bid, will operate the new Bulim Bus Depot - off Jurong West Avenue 2 - and 26 bus services from the Jurong East, Bukit Batok and Clementi bus interchanges progressively from the second quarter of 2016. These services are currently run by SMRT and SBS Transit. The company will get an estimated total fee of $556 million over the five-year contract period to run the services. Feeder services will run at shorter intervals of six to eight minutes. The current fleet of 290 buses serving the zone will grow to about 380. The Land Transport Authority said that commuters can expect higher service levels as all bus services will have scheduled headways of no more than 15 minutes in both directions during the morning and evening peaks. "The restructuring of the public bus industry and the injection of more competition will bring about even higher bus service levels for commuters. With bus contracting, the Government will plan bus services and can thus be more responsive to changes in ridership and commuter needs," said LTA's chief executive officer Chew Men Leong. Under the new regime, the Government owns the buses and other infrastructure, collects all the revenue from fares and pays transport firms to operate the routes.
