On September 26th, 20201, Ethiopia’s greatest distance runner will attempt a World Record Berlin Marathon. For 39-year-old Bekele, it will be the fourth start in the Berlin Marathon with missing the Marathon World Record by just 2 seconds in the 2019 edition. In all four editions Kenenisa appeared in, he won the Marathon in 2016 and 2019 and let off the course without a finish in 2017. In terms of long-distance track running and cross-country, Kenenisa Bekele is the greatest runner of all time. For a decade and a half, with 11 Gold Medals in World Cross-country, Bekele held the world records over 5,000 meters (12: 37.35 min) and 10,000 meters (26: 17.53 min) on the Track. He added Gold Medals over 5,000 meters at the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2009 World Championships to his collection. Over won Gold Medal over the longer distance, 10,000 meters at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games and 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009 World Championships with a Silver medal at 5000m at Athens Olympics 2004. Despite having all this success, Bekele is still waiting for a world record in Marathon. He failed to finish 50 percent of his last six races over the distance, including the Dubai Marathon in 2017, Berlin Marathon 2017, where he wanted to attack the world record. Bekele’s proven Marathon record Despite dropping out of major marathons, Kenenisa Bekele managed to assert that he can be the king of 42.195 kilometers. In 2016, Bekele missed the world record set by Eliud Kipchoge by six seconds in Berlin. Once again, two years ago in Berlin, Kenenisa Bekele (Ethiopia; 2:01:41 minutes) missed the world record (Kenya; 2:01:39 minutes) by just 2 seconds. Mercedes-Benz has released a slew of photos for its highly-anticipated entry level four-door coupe, the CLA. The car will make its official debut during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. The CLA is previewed by the Concept Style Coupe and measures 4.63m long, 2m wide and 1.44m tall. Mercedes-Benz has managed to achieve a super-slippery drag coefficient of just 0.23. The 'baby CLS' is underpinned by Mercedes-Benz's MFA platform, which the A-Class is built upon. This means that the CLA will have MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link independent rear suspension. In the US, the CLA250 with a 208bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine will be offered. However, in other parts of the world, the CLA should be offered with the 1.6-litre turbocharged lump borrowed from the A-Class. All these engines are mated to Mercedes-Benz's 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission. The range-topping CLA45 AMG will be unveiled at a later date. The CLA has large air vents on its front bumper which helps in projecting a sporty image. However, the rear bumper appears oversized from certain angles. Over the past few months, there have been many spy photos of the MK7 Golf floating on the internet. Now, it seems that the wait is finally coming to an end. According to German news daily, Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, the all new Golf will make its world premiere at a special event organized at Berlin's New National Gallery of modern art on 4th September 2012. As evident from the series of spy photos, the design of the Golf VII will be an evolution of the outgoing MK6. However, behind the conservative shell lies the biggest change. The car will be sitting on the company's latest MQB platform that underpins the new Audi A3 and the recently introduced Seat Leon. For the engine lineup, the European model will utilize a range of turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines including a 1.2-litre TSI and a 1.4-litre TSI petrol equipped with VW's ACT (active cylinder management) system that shuts down cylinders two or three to improve fuel economy under certain conditions. The 1.4-litre is currently available in the new Audi A3 and generates 140bhp with 249Nm of torque. The hot 2.0-litre GTI and the range-toping 'R' AWD models will follow next year. The GTI version is rumored to produce around 260bhp. The new Golf will also debut hybrid powertrains in gasoline and diesel formats, as well as a pure-electric variant. The new VW hatchback will receive its public premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show which will run from 29 Sep to 13 Oct 2012. It will go on sale across Europe in November.
