A Malaysian-registered Hyundai Starex on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) was presented ‘the bird’ by 2 motorcyclists passing by, and proceeded to take off and chase after the offenders. The original FB post implies that the bikes were also Malaysian-registered, due to the quote “chase down fellow countrymen on bikes”, but the plate numbers are too small to make anything of it. There is no context to why the bikers flipped off the Hyundai, if there was any motive at all behind it. What we do know is that the Hyundai did not take it lying down. Without missing a beat they chased after the bikes, weaving between vehicles and somehow avoided any damage, as the FB post also said “Almost scratching whole line of vehicles”. Bro was HIM. To manage congestion at these locations, ERP rates will rise by S$1 at the following gantries during the specified time periods: The adjustment will take effect from Feb. 14. Traffic speeds generally optimal Following this adjustment, ERP will be charged at 7 locations, compared to 29 locations pre-Covid, said LTA. LTA noted that traffic speeds have remained generally optimal on all arterial roads, including those within the Central Business District. This is based on LTA’s monitoring of traffic conditions in January 2022, following its latest review of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates. ERP charges will thus remain at S$0 at these locations until the next review, and rates for other previously announced time-slots and gantries remain unchanged. LTA added that it will continue to monitor traffic speeds and congestion levels closely and assess if ERP rates need to be further adjusted as safe management measures continue to evolve.

After entering the AYE, a Honda HRV driver decided to perform something bizarre - he changed lane into a red Lexus ES not once but TWICE, despite having empty pockets of space to switch lanes into. During the second bump, the Lexus ES was forced into lane 2 of the AYE, causing it to cut off a Shopee Xpress van. As a result, the Shopee Xpress van had to brake hard to avoid rear-ending the Lexus ES. However, a motorcyclist riding behind the van could not react in time and smashed into the van, resulting in the motorcyclist flipping over. Idk about you, but the Honda HRV driver ought to be handed some heavy consequences for his actions. It is as clear as daylight that the Honda HRV driver did not bother checking his blindspot before changing lanes at the very last minute, which caused the accidents. Camera footage has caught the scene of an insane 9 vehicle collision along the AYE. Consisting of SBS buses, lorries and trucks, all heavy vehicles. While we don’t know what type of influence the driver was under in this accident, it definitely was not a good one. At around 8pm on Saturday (Jan 15), a driver spotted a Volkswagen Jetta driving diagonally in its lane on the AYE. Situated on the right lane, the silver car struggles to maintain its position in the middle of the lane. The vehicle veers slightly to the right now and then, with the driver attempting to correct its direction. Seconds later, disaster strikes as the Jetta veers too far to the right, hitting the road divider of the expressway. The impact of the hit sends the car flying forward, pushing it in the opposite direction. The car flies across 3 lanes and makes its second hit with a large white truck. Both vehicles come to an immediate stop in the middle of the expressway as the cam car drives away. What happened? While there has not been a statement on what happened with the Jetta driver, netizens were quick to offer up their theories. #1: Driver was sleepy The most popular theory was that the driver was too sleepy. Netizens had noted that right before the incident, the car was already constantly veering towards the right of the lane. This could signify that the driver could have been falling asleep at the wheel. Some even shared their personal experiences and anecdotes about driving while being exhausted (which is not something you should do!). #2: Driver was drunk The second theory was that the driver could have been drinking before this incident. Again, netizens related the shaky driving before the incident to the influence of alcohol. The witness who recorded the video said he was driving along the AYE when he almost rear-ended the abandoned, stationary van. He proceeded to stop his vehicle behind the stationary van to inspect and offer help (supposedly) to the van driver. Upon inspection, the van was found to have sustained significant damages to the driver's door and the windshield, which deployed its airbags. What was most puzzling was that the van driver was nowhere to be found, and the van's engine was still running! Furthermore, there was no sign of collision between the van and another vehicle. How strange... What It Looks Like NGL, this looks as though an alien spaceship came down to abduct the van driver. Heck. It even looks as though the van driver faded into dust from Thanos' snap. A PHV Toyota Vellfire was caught on video bullying a Mazda 3 by intentionally blocking it and preventing it from changing lanes. This road-bullying incident occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), which involved a PHV Toyota Vellfire and a Mazda 3. In the video, a Mazda 3 and a PHV Toyota Vellfire are travelling alongside each other on lanes 1 and 2, respectively. Moments after, the cam car driver flashes his high beam as an indication to the Mazda 3 driver to filter to lane 2. BUT HERE'S WHAT PUZZLES ME The PHV Toyota Vellfire driver went through many inconveniences just to REPEATEDLY block the Mazda 3 from filtering to lane 2. The Vellfire PHV driver performed PLENTY of brake checks and aggressive manoeuvres such as overtaking from the left. Just so the Vellfire driver could remain alongside the Mazda 3 after overtaking a motorcyclist from the left, I felt that he might have pushed the entire 179bhp out of his 2.5L engine. However, I suspect that these two drivers had a prior altercation before this entire incident. FACTS NGL, this is what happens when a driver that lacks in confidence (Mazda 3) meets a guai lan driver (Toyota Vellfire). Regardless of what may have happened earlier, this Toyota Vellfire is definitely an a**hole of a driver. Unpopular opinion: Camcar, you ain’t no saint either. Instead of whining and flashing your high beam at the Mazda 3, you could have backed off a little and given way to the Mazda 3, so he could filter to lane 2. Now this is one heartening sight! Our local police force is working hard to catch bad-behaving vehicles on our roads! Seen on SG Road Vigilante is this video of an unmarked Traffic Police vehicle zooming up fast on the AYE towards Tuas to catch a motorbike on 13th of December 2020. We can't really see why the bike was being stopped but according to the source, it is a Malaysian-registered bike with a mini rear number plate. While having such a number plate is an offence in our sunny island, we thought the police might also be catching the biker for a speeding offence or having a loud exhaust. As for the rest of us, we now know when you see a white Mazda 3, it might not be a Private Hire Vehicle but an Unmarked Traffic Police car!

Was stuck at both directions of AYE yesterday evening peak hour. Was going to harbourfront, jam becos ppl kaypoh busy rubbernecking at the accident site in the opposite direction. After dinner and walk about to see the lantern thing at Vivo. Started heading home at around 8:30pm thinking it has cleared. Only to see the jam again. What's worst is that what seems to be the forensic police truck has only just arrived...trying to get to the accident site. Saw last wrecked car being cleared away. Saw the blue tent. Big claster-f of traffic police, police vehicles, tow trucks etc...so many ppl in uniforms standing around the area. Wonder what caused the accident.
