Hi all, as many of you have experience buying from PI, assuming that the car you booked is not VAC-ready, kindly share your personal experience on your waiting time between the car's arrival in Singapore to clearing the port, LTA inspection and finally your collection date. I've been digging around the forums and most of the information comes from a few years ago, which is quite outdated already. Also, take the chance to share some of your own recent experience with PIs. -

Just 2 questions. 1)If order a car indented from overseas, can the dealer register the car with a current Open Cat COE it holds even before the car arrive? For example, a car due to arrive in 3 months, but the dealer has an open Cat COE it bidded for last month (due to expire in another 2 months from today). Can that car be registered under this COE (to buyer) even before the car arrive? Or must wait till car arrive on shore? 2) Can that dealer bid for a normal cat (A/B) COE for the buyer, and register the car, even before that car reaches SIngapore? For example, a car due to arrive in 3 months, but dealer bids for and obtains a normal Cat. (A/B) COE for the buyer in the coming 1 month. Thank you very much

According to Mr Lim's Facebook page, the checks were conducted on Monday and Thursday at two separate bus stops during the morning peak hour, between 8am and 9am. Mr Lim was accompanied by an officer from the Land Transport Authority during both checks. The first check was made at Jalan Batu, near the HDB estate at Tanjong Rhu while the second was at the bus stop at Block 56, Cassia Crescent. Mr Lim told Channel NewsAsia he was "horrified" that three bus services -- 158, 12 and 197 -- took half an hour to arrive, and said he has written to the Public Transport Council. He said by doing so, he hopes to influence the public transport operators to improve their service, and to stress the need for regular services. "I know how bus companies work," Mr Lim said. "They say there are traffic jams, breakdowns etc. I do empathise. But at the end of the day, bus commuters are frustrated and bus companies must know this." Mr Lim said residents had complained to him during the campaign period. Although he has made similar checks before, he said he decided to publicise his latest efforts on Facebook to be more visible to residents. Mr Lim said: "I realise that when you do it quietly, people don't realise you've been doing it, and come elections, they say you've not been doing anything". Mr Lim said he would follow up with SBS Transit and monitor the services for improvements. -CNA/wk Good sign.. Finally found some time and energy to post this! Baby Isaac arrived on the 18th of April. My wifey had an epidural C-section due to Baby Isaac refusing to turn downwards into the birth canal. She is a very brave mummy and Daddy was able to witness Isaac's arrival and cut his cord. Even as the days and nights are long, sleep are sacred, countless of diaper changes, 3hr interval feeding patterns, attention-seeking wails, it's all worth it when he flashed his smile or give a contented sigh after feeding!!

Hi brudders, Seems like there's a lot a interest in the new Octy, even from our non-skoda owning brudders out there. Well, I've just got 2 things to say. 1. with the kind of complaints that you are reading here... why do you still wanna get one? hahaha... just kidding ah... lets have a sense of humour and be able to laugh at ourselves sometimes ah... 2. more seriously, heard from eugene (salesman in CA) that the new octy's coming in 3rd-4th quater this year. so jhoo won't need to wait till '06. Also, seems that Skoda's finally coming out with an SUV called the Yeti... yay for SUV fans like myself. I'm still trying to get used to the low ride height.
