Report from ST... Caning is 'not appropriate': US THE US State Department has said that caning in Singapore is 'not an appropriate form of punishment', as an American citizen may face such penalty for immigration violation in the island-state, reported Xinhua news agency. 'This is something we've made clear in our human rights report and also something we've conveyed to the government of Singapore in our bilateral discussions,' said State Department spokesman Mark Toner on Thursday. Kamari Charlton, an American businessman and a former football player for Florida State University, may become the first US citizen to be caned in Singapore in 16 years after he overstayed his visa. 'He has not been convicted, and in fact the case is still in pre-trial status,' Mr Toner said, adding the US embassy in Singapore is closely monitoring it. 'It's our hope that a resolution can be reached in the case,' he said. Ya fark you Yank..... farking stand there and talk about human right...... just look at your own farking backyard...... the law not first day implement..... everybody knows it..... dont wanna backside eat rotten, then dont farking break the law....... farking pea brain....

Not to sound uncaring but can share what would be the safe/appropriate way to handle the following situations given that you are driving and alone in the car:- (1) You saw a fellow driver inside their car, with boot lid up, no breakdown signage displayed. Visibility low and in the middle of deserted road/expressway. (2) You saw a fellow driver slumped over steering wheel, car in the middle of a road during daytime. (3) You encounter a drunk driver behind the wheels in the wee hours of the morning.

I have a question that i have asked around a bit but couldn't quite get a satisfactory ans and hope bros/sis here can help... my current stock tires are 225/45/18 and am looking for wider profile tires while sacrificing comfort minimally. my research of tire calculators yields the following for the tire of my choice, RE001 225/45/18: - overall diameter 659.63 mm, - side wall height 101.09 mm 235/40/18: - overall diameter 645.16 mm (14.47 mm diff fr stock), - side wall height 93.98 mm (7.11 mm diff fr stock) - speedo 102 km/h 245/45/18: - overall diameter 677.67 mm (18.04 mm diff fr stock), - side wall height 110.23 mm (9.14mm dff fr stock) - speedo 97.3 km/h So while the initial reaction to the 245/45/18 option is the usual 'wah, very oversized...', but as you can see, in terms of actual difference in various aspects, it is not that different from the 235/40/18, which interestingly is what the tire shops recommend when i asked... When asked for a reason, i have ans ranging from 'mei-you-ren-zhe-yang-zhuo-de' (no one does it this way..) to 'handling characteristics will be affected'... an equally vague ans... Personally, i have been leaning towards the 45 profile, since i wanted slightly thicker side walls for some comfort... that's why looking at the 245/45... but it has been unsettling yet without a satisfactory ans... so, here i am... Wld someone be able to enlighten somewhat? thanks in adv.

I believed I have asked this question before but wanted some more opinions as I am due to change my tyres soon. Dont want to make a purchase mistake. 1.6 Octy stock tyre size is 195/65/15 right? I am currently running on 215/45/17 which some say is correct and some say is incorrect. Servo recommended 225/45/17 while some tyre shops recommend 215/45/17. Can anyone advise on this? Which is the correct size and will 215 to 225 have a significant fuel consumption increase? Tks!
