Hello seniors and Enciks I have been looking at 2nd hand car dealer sites. I saw some are selling 5-year coe cars and it comes with 1-year official warranty and claimed that the engine has been refurbished. I am aware 5-year coe cars are non-renewable. But on the surface, it looks like a okay deal since you can drive it for 5 years? I could get a renewable car with 2.5 years left, at the same price. Does it really make any sense to buy 5-year coe cars? What are the considerations? When it means 1-year official warranty, means I could go back to distro? Sounds like a gamble.. Any inputs are appreciated.

To the Honda City driver, justice will be done for you! Video is sent to the TP. To the Mazda driver, there is ample space for you to cut in behind my car, as well as in front. But you chose to cut dangerously in front of the City. Please be safe on the road!

CNB is a place where poly or ITE grads who cannot make it in REAL life will join upon dropping out. I am not surprised they have received SO many complaints every other day. The way some of these young boys behave is no different than those rascals from 369. In fact, many 369 members behave much much better like human beings than these dogs from the CNB. Personally I got some complaints against some of them too, esp in the customs. Las time they used to place those boys with gold hair, very long gold hair and say they are CNB at the checkpoints. This is very unsightly. If you want to place CNB boys there to play, at least put in some decent looking chaps. Thats why among the civil ministry, CNB is the most looked down upon. Got one period of time they courted controvesy over the ENTRAPMENT issues. You know why they did it? Cos they are inept and brainless that if they dont do it, their quotas and KPI will be affected. Man alleges assault by drug busters 16 Share 0 inShareBy Shaffiq Alkhatib The New Paper Friday, Jun 22, 2012 I was assaulted by Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers after being arrested, a man has alleged in a police report. Mr Wan (not his real name) said the alleged beatings began after he made a casual remark about wanting to be spoken to in "a nice manner". The sales assistant, 24, told The New Paper last Monday that he had done time behind bars in 2008 for pushing a policeman. But even that experience did not prepare him for the treatment he allegedly received from the CNB officers, the married father of a three-year-old son said. In his police report, Mr Wan said a friend had given him a lift on a motorcycle to meet other friends at a Bukit Batok coffee shop for dinner at 8.15pm on June 8. "We stopped at the roadside near the coffee shop. We had just got off the bike when a group of officers approached us. I don't remember if they were police or CNB officers," he said. He said he and his friend were asked to empty their pockets and they complied. "The officers later told us that they wanted to take us in for a urine test, so we just followed them," he added. Mr Wan alleged that he and his friend were handcuffed and a van took them to the Jurong Police Division Headquarters. "The officers tested our urine and drugs were not detected in my sample. I was then taken to a room to give my statement to a CNB officer," he said. While there, Mr Wan claimed that he was sitting on a chair when one of the officers, whom he said had spiky hair, yelled at him. The police report stated that Mr Wan asked the officer to speak to him in a "nice manner". "As I was speaking to him, I was suddenly punched by another officer on my left ear," he said in the report. "After that, I was hit about six or seven times by several others and I leaned forward. "When I tried to lean back, I was kicked on the chest and thigh by this other officer. I remember that he had a floppy fringe." Mr Wan alleged that the officer told him to go under a desk while he took his statement. He said in the report: "He used his right foot to press down on my handcuffs. He also rested his right leg on my shoulder." Mr Wan alleged that his left ear and left wrist became swollen and he also suffered a cut on his lips in the alleged beating. According to his police report, he was taken to a lock-up at around 2am the next day and he requested for a doctor to attend to his injuries. .....cos some wise cracker sure say me HEARSE DRIVER jailed AN OPERATIONS manager of a funeral services company, caught for drink-driving a hearse in January 2010, was found to be flouting a disqualification order for a drink-drive offence issued in April 2009. On Thursday, Paramasivam Rajo pleaded guilty and was jailed for two months and fined a total of $7,100. The other offences were driving without insurance coverage and taking the van without the owner's consent. Paramasivam had been stopped at a police road block along Balestier Road at 12.10am on Jan 31. Noticing his alcoholic breath, flushed face and blood-shot eyes, officers subjected him to a breathalyser test, which he failed. A further test at the police station revealed that he had 60mg of alcohol in every 100ml of breath, far exceeding the prescribed limit of 35mg. Investigations then revealed that his boss was unaware he had taken the hearse. The court also heard that Paramasivam had been fined $3,000 and disqualified from driving all vehicles for two years in April last year for drink-drinking his car. Defence counsel Rajan Supramaniam told The Straits Times that there was no body in the hearse when Paramasivam was driving it.

I read how some ADs void your warranty after you change new rims very stupid. Then i read about the US where apparently theres this Magnuson-Moss Act in their legislation which clearly stipulates that A manufacturer cannot void the warranty of a vehicle just because aftermarket parts (a tune in this case) are installed. A manufacturer can deny warranty work on a vehicle if an aftermarket emissions part is what caused the need for repair. But it cannot wholly deny a vehicle warranty. I find it ridiculous how changing the rims can affect people's warranty. Theres no customer protection here in singapore even after we pay so much.

The situation happened this way. I live in Serangoon gardens estate and for my place, there is this Tennis Court on the left side of the road. On the right side of the road, are houses. Usually people who are regulars there will NOT park inside the tennis court as have to pay URA standard half hour 50 cents On the left side of the road, is a continuous yellow line, i have not taken my test but i think it means no parking from 7am to 7pm or whichever, please correct me. So happen, we have a feeder Bus service 317 that plies this already so narrow road. Usually houses which have more den 1 car would park their cars along the RIGHT side of the road. We have lived her for so many years and this is the first time we have seen such a thing. I was as usual watching tele with my parents in the living room when i heard the CONTINUOS long horn of the bus. POOR SBS BUS. Horned for 10 mins! I was still thinking NEVER MIND. it could be some car blocking or some Forklift or crane that was blocking as there're some houses here which are undergoing construction. THEN THEN It struck me that it's already 815pm at night. What would be blocking? So after 10 mins of honking, i decided to go be typical Sporean Kpo and go out and see what is blocking the bus. To my HORROR, I saw the bus in a 45 deg position. ( GREEN ARROW) Then i saw this freaking Altis, YES I CALL YOU FREAKING ALTIS. Parked IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!! Wah!!! I was like NB CB wad happen sia? Altis is in GREY GREY. Altis is on LEFT side of the road. Usually no one parks in the middle of the road lah. Unless there's someone inside. But this fella happily went into the Tennis centre and was playing tennis. When i reached the bus, the passengers all had the angry look and stunned look and some gave me the " IF YOU'RE THE ALTIS DRIVER, GET OUT OF THE WAY NOW ?" kind of look. But i shoke my head. Then i saw the bus uncle. It was my favourite uncle and he recognised me. I told him and suggested why not i ask my immediate neighbour, Red car, to move his vehicle so the bus could squeeze past the Altis, if the bugger doesn't come out. Then my neighbour was about to do it, when i stopped him as finally this guy came out. YAYA PAPAYA come out act as nothing happen. Serangoon gdns happens to be quite a SENIOR estate so few old men gathered and just said, HEY HELLO PLS DON'T PARK HERE AND MOVE LAH. BUS NEED TO MOVE. Guess what that guy said? Bugger: BUT SINGLE YELLOW LINE WHAT? I CAN PARK? THE BUS MOVE HIMSELF LAH? I was damn Shocked and i shouted @ him, not caring whether i was younger or what. I said, EH BROTHER, LOOK, YOU'RE IN THE WRONG AND YOU'RE TALKING BACK TO ELDERS? YOU P PLATE DON'T ANYHOW CHUT STUNT LEH? With that he just moved his car front by about 20 m. The bus was still blocked. Bus uncle got so mad that he almost accelerated into the Altis and HONKED the daylights out of him. Altis Buey sung and still act yaya and park in the middle of the road. Den after the bus moved off, he still chut reverse stunt, maciam Fast and furious 3 tokyo drift. Reverse so fast and almost buang the kerb. Wah piang! These kind of people deserve to be shot man! P plate wanna come and chut stunt like that. Cause the whole lane of people to come out of their houses and den kpo. Wah piang! Den he still had the cheek to talk back to the uncle who is about 70 years old. Piang eh! To this little p plate bugger a-----e, if you're in MCF? SHAME ON YOU AND I DON'T KNOW HOW THE HELL YOU PASSED UR LICENSE! If anyone knows this guy, please tell him to retake his BTT again! Wah! Damn angry! See the picture to get a clearer picture!! Grey - Bugger Altis Red and Pink - Residence car parked CORRECTLY. GREEN - Poor SBS bus got stuck! I FORGOT TO ADD. He parked there only for 2 reasons. 1) His eyes are COCKED and don't know there is a 20 Lot Carpark inside the tennis centre 2) He is stingy and wants to save 50 cents! or maybe at the most 1 hour for his hourly tennis session? What for save the 50 cents or 1 buck and get one bus load of passengers waiting and all flustered? And even if he wants to save the money, CAN, But PLEASE, park at somewhere NOT obstructive to the road lor? Walao. Really dunno wad to say. Bo wei Gong! His brains still at home!

RTRS - Singapore charges 19 for protest on rising prices SINGAPORE, July 11 (Reuters) - A Singapore court charged 19 people on Friday, including several opposition party members, for taking part in a protest over rising prices in the city-state. Amongst those accused was Chee Soon Juan, leader of Singapore's most vocal opposition party, the Singapore Democratic Party, and several of its executive members. Court documents showed they were charged for participating in a procession and an assembly, offences that carry a maximum fine of S$1,000 ($735). "The Tak Boleh Tahan Protest was meant to speak out against the multitude of ill-timed price hikes initiated by the government," said a joint press statement by the group. Tak Boleh Tahan means "Cannot Take It" in Bahasa Malay. Singapore's inflation is at a 26-year high, leaving increasing numbers of the city's poor turning to temples for free food. Some economists believe the government's two percent tax hike on goods and services last July helped stoke inflationary pressures. Protests in Singapore are rare and an assembly of five or more people requires a permit from the police. Singapore says it needs tough laws on assembly for the maintenance of peace and stability. The accused said they will go to trial but are currently without legal representation. In a press statement, the group's sole lawyer, Chia Ti Lik, said he was unable to represent them because he was also accused. "We are now all the more convinced that the protest was needed and justified and simply had to be done," the statement said. "We make an appeal for Singaporean lawyers to come forward to represent us in these proceedings." On the expessway, always encounter drivers who alway like to brake at any point of time.No matter how far the front car is , they will brake for no reason.Damm angry....
-
Happen to be travelling about 70km/h along Bt Timah Rd yesterday. I agree that the distance between each car is not really really sufficient unless your brakes bite well. My front suddenly braked in the middle lane which forced me to do so as well...this bike behind me still dont know how to slow down upon my brake lights so, end up bang on me lor. I came out, my first reaction was to make sure he was fine physically but u know whats his first reaction? - scold me! I just dont understand why these people dont see further and react accordingly... u bang on me and u still scold me???? i havn't started to scold u! I should be claiming u for thiose small scratches on my car! i know my car is hardy and no scratches though... it was a big wooden block that created this problem actually. But please, if u are driving or riding at whatever speed, leave sufficient braking distance...this is one very big problem about s'porean. take care, saying sorry does not not work in some accidents.
