Seeing someone other than you get stopped by a Traffic Police is satisfying. But seeing a cyclist get stopped? Pure bliss! Watch this video to see how this pest of a cyclist gets pulled over by a traffic police officer: What happened? This incident occurred along Bukit Panjang Ring Road. A traffic police officer pulls over a female cyclist for cycling on the road without a helmet. However, there are speculations that she is likely to be pulled over for beating a red light at the earlier junction too. This speculation could be due to her riding ahead of traffic along this stretch of straight road – it is impossible to cycle faster than cars and motorcycles alongside her. Suitability for cycling on the road Her bicycle looks like an ordinary bicycle but upon closer inspection, you will realise that there is no seat attached to her bicycle. This leads me to this question: How the hell does someone ride a bicycle for a prolonged period without even sitting down? Furthermore, she was riding without the most basic personal protective equipment, a bicycle helmet. @Active Mobility Advisory Panel Here is a guideline/regulation for you to consider in your subsequent proposal: "For cyclists to ride on the road, they must first ensure their bicycles are certified roadworthy." Imagine if you see a cyclist riding a unicycle on the road one day — What a joke. Netizens' comments Straight up facts right here. Typical Sinkie comment. Let's have more faith in our Traffic Police officers, okay? Even a warning is better than turning a blind eye on such matters. Sovereign or not, this is the result of poor awareness of road safety and knowledge. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. Ang Moh cyclist spits at car for not stopping before the stop line
unicornfloof posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Update: According to Stomp, the police are currently investigating this incident after the camcar driver lodged a report on that same day. The cyclist was also speculated to be a tennis coach, according to a friend of the passenger in the vehicle. A cam car was on the receiving end of dirty looks and something 'extra' when it stopped after the stop line at a traffic junction. The incident occurred last Thursday morning (8 July) along River Valley Road, just as most Singaporeans were on their way to work. The short video shows a lady shooting weird looks at the cam car. As to why the footage paused on her, I'm not too sure. She's kind of pretty I guess? As the video continues, it shows a frustrated Ang Moh cyclist expunging his human slobber from his mouth onto the car. Similar to the lady before, this was also pretty........ pretty disgusting! According to the National Environment Agency (NEA), spitting in public is an offence and carries a hefty fine of $1,000. On top of that, it is extremely inconsiderate and insensitive, given the fact that we are in the middle of a pandemic. Netizens' reactions Although the cam car was in the wrong for not stopping in time, it was absolutely unnecessary for the cyclist to take such unhygienic measures. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. TL;DR – Ang Moh cyclist harasses Lexus RX by cycling in the middle of the road, obstructing its path and swerves between cars dangerously. Here’s another reason LTA should come up with some sort of SOP for cyclists to make them accountable for their actions. In this 70-second video, you can see the male cyclist cycling recklessly to harass the Lexus driver. Putting not just himself but other motorist in danger. Cyclist vs SUV The cyclist blocks a Lexus RX on the first lane along River Valley Road near Liang Court. Honestly, I’ve watched the video like twenty times, and I still have no idea whatafrak the cyclist is doing. 1. He’s cycling without placing his hands on the handlebars of the bicycle 2. His chest and stomach are exposed (eww?) 3. He raises his right hand as if indicating he’s turning right, but he doesn’t turn right Where it happened Just in case you’re a little disoriented and unsure where this incident took place. What’s the trigger? It looks like the cyclist was trying to indicate that he wanted to turn right on Mohamed Sultan Road, but the Lexus did not allow him to do so. In response, the cyclist gives the SUV a shove and dangerously swerves through the cars in front to get ahead of the Lexus and block the driver’s path. Chitter Chatter It’s just a matter of time. There are cyclists out there who abide by the laws. Please don’t ‘sabo’. Thanks.

Singaporean woman's wedding with 'ang moh' husband at Clementi void deck is like no other source: https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/singaporean-womans-wedding-with-ang-moh-husband-at-clementi-void-deck-is-like-no We have all been to our fair share of weddings — but have you ever attended any that left an exceptionally deep imprint on your mind? A wedding that Stomper Grace attended on Saturday (Jan 4) was so special and unique that she decided to share her experience with Stomp. The joyous occasion was held at Block 306A Clementi Avenue 4 and combined several elements from different cultures. Grace said: "We've all been to weddings in Singapore, but what made the recent one I attended so special is the couple's effortless way of bringing multiculturalism together on their wedding day. "For background, my good friend is a Singaporean Chinese who recently married a Brit who has been living here in Singapore for a number of years now. "With friends and family coming in from all parts of the world, they wanted to show the unique culture of Singapore." According to Grace, the couple chose the void deck of their block in Clementi as their wedding venue "instead of opting for the usual ballroom". Forget stiff formal gowns and black ties — what made the wedding stand out even more was its 'lepak chic' dress code. Grace recounted: "The food was catered from the couple's favourite restaurant Pariaman, which serves Indonesian cuisine. "There was also a bar that served customised cocktails honouring the couple's respective cultures, as well as a 'potion' inspired by their love for the Dota 2 game. "Guests were entertained with a special lion dance performance and a friendly visit from the ice-cream uncle." Asked if the couple had specifically hired the ice-cream man, Grace explained: "They reached out to the uncle because he sells ice cream around their block. "They told him, 'Come at this time, we will give you $xxx and you can have some business.' "They weren’t sure if he would turn up because they didn’t officially pre-book him or anything, but he did! So I guess you could say he was hired! "As the groom was Jewish, they also had a chuppah as part of their ceremony decor." A chuppah is a canopy under which a couple stands during Jewish weddings. It typically consists of a cloth stretched or supported over four poles. The Stomper added: "After the bride was given the ring, the groom broke a glass as everyone shouted, 'Mazel Tov!' (meaning 'congratulations' in Hebrew). "The celebrations continued with a Jewish celebratory dance (known as a Horah), with the bride and groom lifted on chairs while everyone else danced around in circles." (Grace told Stomp that the Horah was her favourite part of the wedding) (Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Communications and Information, made a surprise appearance at the wedding) Grace said: "What made everything extra special was a surprise visit from the Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah, Ms Sim Ann, who probably heard about the wedding too! "I can’t think of a better way to witness this beautiful multicultural wedding right here in Singapore."

A very blurry video has been uploaded on Roads.sg's Facebook page. It hasn't gone viral yet (at the time of writing this article) but, there's a massive potential for it to explode online. Help me out here people. I'm very divided about this one. It's a short 25-second video of a driver attempting to drive through a pedestrian crossing when the green man indicator is lit. This action angers an Ang Moh pedestrian and a clash of egos ensue. If you haven't seen the video, here you go! Thanks, Roads.sg The driver’s perspective There's a noticeable gap/window for cars to drive through the pedestrian crossing even though you can see the blinking green man. The two vehicles in front of him went through with no issues. If it's safe to go through, why not right? The pedestrian’s perspective The Ang Moh pedestrian who came running up to stop the driver from proceeding must have felt that the driver was too impatient and should have just waited a little while longer before making the turn. Clash of egos The pedestrian then proceeds to block the driver until the green man turns red before walking out of frame. You’ve made your point, move along lah! Why need to do this? This isn't Hong Kong eh! The driver, on the other hand, keeps saying that "he has a camera". Pretty pointless statement in this case no? Can you see why I feel divided on this? What the people say Next day newspaper headlines: "Body of man found swimming with the fishes" Probably a joke. Probably. The injustice of it all still lingers in the hearts of many like the death of Harambe. I guess, in the eyes of the public, we know whose side they're on. The driver needs a better dashcam though.

https://youtu.be/MWeLATbd7OY While waiting for traffic to clear before going into parallel parking lot, this Audi SKN8586U started reversing to the lot despite sounding my horn and left indicator light. I moved slightly forward and sounded my horn continuously to warn him off. He opened his car doored and signalled for me to move back! WTF! Then he purposely bump his car into my stationary car before moving forward. He got out of his car and expects me to move back for him to park. Told him I'm waiting for traffic to clear and he started scolding me. After he went back to his car, he opened his door and shouted for me to go back to China. LOL. I am a true blue Singaporean born and educated in Singapore. These are the westerners who think they own the world!

The cyclists are trying to out-do one another - throwing own bike now! Cyclist charged with throwing bike at car after honking incident Published on Jan 14, 2015 12:13 PM 524 30 1 0 PRINT EMAIL Canadian Jason Blair Unger, 39, allegedly threw the bicycle on the bonnet of Mr Woo Wing Onn's car on Selegie Road on the morning of Oct 17 last year. -- ST PHOTO: WONG KWAI CHOW By Elena Chong SINGAPORE - A cyclist who allegedly threw his bike at a car after believing its driver was honking his horn at him was charged in court with mischief on Wednesday. Canadian Jason Blair Unger, 39, allegedly threw the bicycle on the bonnet of Mr Woo Wing Onn's car on Selegie Road on Oct 17 last year. Dents and scratches were caused to the front part of the vehicle, resulting in damage costing about $2,220. Unger sought an adjournment to engage a lawyer. His bail was extended and he will be back in court on Jan 28. The incident was caught on Mr Woo's in-car camera and he posted the video on citizen journalism website Stomp four days later. Mr Woo said he was driving home with his wife when he honked at a taxi which was travelling slowly and hogging the road. But a cyclist who was just up ahead thought he was honking at him instead and became enraged. The maximum penalty for mischief is two years' jail and a fine. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/courts-crime/story/cyclist-charged-throwing-bike-car-after-honking-incident-20150114#sthash.j2WzuhI7.dpuf
