Once again for the umpteenth time within the hour, the internet is enraged. But this time, it’s completely understandable. What's going on? A motorcyclist was riding along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 when a sedan from the opposing lane rammed into him, sending metal flying all over the road. Online chatter Facebook users have called for the driver to be punished harshly, ranging from jail to a lifelong ban on driving. According to the person who submitted the video, the motorcyclist has been admitted to the hospital and is recovering well with no major injuries. Some more positive netizens have wished the rider a speedy recovery (pun fully intended). As the camcar so aptly put it, “this one not happy le” What happened? Just yesterday on Ang Mo Kio Ave 9, a poor Kia Seltos got the tongue lashing of their year after turning in just a bit too soon and tight on a Toyota Axio. Looking at the video, you might be thinking “eh he turn right but not in the correct lane, then his fault lah”. WRONG. As we can see from the above photo, the Kia is perfectly within their rights to make a right turn despite not being in the right-most lane. Now, is that an excuse for turning a bit too early and risking an accident? Probably not. But they could be a new and inexperienced driver. Rookie mistake, totally understandable. The Toyota driver DID NOT care. Bro pulled up and blocked the Kia’s path to make sure there could be no escape. As usual, someone please translate whatever the driver said. All I know is that if it was in Cantonese it would be far more severe. After that, he just got back into his car and carried on with their day. Not sure why it was so short, if he was willing to get out of the car to scold them. Online chatter People agreed it was the Kia’s fault, by turning so tightly an accident could have happened. Others also praised the Toyota for the scolding. Mitsubishi Lancer’s desire for a petty amount of car park fee evasion places both vehicles in an increased risk of a potential accident. Vehicle tries to evade parking fees by tailgating the camcar vehicle at the car park exit. Pretty ridiculous act for a small car park fee, those who can’t afford to drive should just stay at home. Watch the video for yourself below Tailgating is a dangerous habit of driving too closely to the vehicle in front. Though tailgating itself isn’t exactly considered illegal, there are however some instances where it could be classed as careless or reckless driving. Evasion of parking fees, however, are $25 for motorcycles, $50 for cars as well as $80 for heavy vehicles respectively. What is something that was not taught in driving/riding school but is so apparent on our roads? If you guessed lane-splitting, you are right! Watch how lane-splitting indirectly led to a confrontation between a motorcyclist and a Porsche: What Happened? This incident occurred at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, which involved the driver of a Porsche Macan and a motorcyclist. The dashcam footage is a user-submitted video from the motorcyclist mentioned earlier (with very bad dashcam placement). According to the motorcyclist, the entire incident sparked off when the Porsche had stopped 'very closely' next to the motorcyclist at the traffic light. The motorcyclist was stationary in between a 'right-turn only' lane and the rightmost 'straight-only' lane, while the Porsche was at the rightmost 'straight-only' lane. Upon the traffic light turning green, the Porsche Macan floored the accelerator to push out 400Nm of torque and 261bhp. Along with its all-wheel-drive capability, the Porsche SUV overtook the motorcyclist in no time. However, the Porsche's overtaking manoeuvre was apparently 'too close' to the motorcyclist's liking. I mean, being 'too close' to another vehicle is what you get from lane-splitting, right?! Both of these 'very close' instances triggered the motorcyclist to sound his honk at the Porsche driver to 'warn him about his dangerous driving'. The motorcyclist accelerated quickly and started chasing down the Porshe. Porsche Driver Did Not Take It Well Needless to say, the Porsche took the motorcycle's chase as a sign of provocation and started playing the brake game with him. According to the motorcyclist, the Porsche driver opened his car door to hurl some Hokkien vulgarities and flip the bird at the motorcyclist. Sadly, the above was not captured on video, and there was no audio recording of this. May I also point out how the starting of the video was coincidentally cut, so it does not reveal what happened earlier? Sus much🤨 Netizens' Comments Wise words. Some say it is because of one's bad luck, others say it's a mere coincidence. I say it is due to stupidity. Watch how the cyclist causes this accident in this video. What Happened? The accident occurred at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. In the dashcam video, the traffic light switched from amber to red within seconds. Despite this, a "Tour De Singapore" cyclist on a road bike decided to ignore and beat the red light. At this point, the pedestrian signal across the junction turned green, and pedestrians started to cross the road. Even as the cyclist started approaching a group of pedestrians, the cyclist made no effort in attempting any evasion manoeuvre and continued cycling straight into them. As a result, the thick-headed, errant cyclist who beat the red light collided with another cyclist cycling across the pedestrian crossing. The collision sent the errant "Tour De Singapore" cyclist and his bicycle flying. Luckily for the cyclist who got hit, he seemed fine and managed to get back on his feet instantly. What Now? Unfortunately, like all other errant cyclists out there, this cyclist will get away with it. Who in their right mind would beat a red light just before a major cross-junction? As drivers, I am sure we have met our fair share of annoying drivers on the road who switches between lanes either without due care or simply because of their indecisiveness. Here's a perfect example of an annoying driver that falls in both of these categories: Where And Who Were Involved? The accident happened along Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, just across Townsville Primary School. In total, two cars (a BMW X5 and a Hyundai Avante) and one motorcycle were involved in the accident. What Happened? Initially, the Hyundai Avante was travelling on the left-turn only lane. It then changed to the next lane, to be positioned right in front of the cam car. Wanting to filter left towards Bishan Road, the Hyundai driver decided to change back to the left-turn only lane after several cars passed by it. For unknown reasons, the Hyundai driver took his own sweet time to complete his lane change, and this was where tragedy struck. The BMW X5 who was travelling at a relatively fast speed, could not stop in time, causing it to smash into the side of the Hyundai Avante. Following this, a motorcycle travelling directly behind the BMW X5 also could not react in time, causing it to smash headfirst into the rear of the BMW SUV, literally. Looking at the image above, can I say that all the lane switching involved was entirely uncalled for? Regardless of which lane the Hyundai was in, he could eventually turn left if he had the patience. Kudos To The Biker Bro Despite receiving the brunt of the impact from rear-ending the BMW, the motorcyclist made an effort to check on the other parties involved in the chain collision. Good on him for that! Who's At Fault? This accident will undoubtedly pose a challenging case for the insurance companies involved to determine the party/parties at fault. Reading the comments, the public had mixed opinions on the party at fault, which included: (a) The Hyundai was at fault; (b) The BMW was at fault; (c) Both the Hyundai and BMW were at fault; and (d) All parties involved were at fault. Jaywalking is a common sight in Singapore that is done WHEN TRAFFIC IS CLEAR ( I am sure we are guilty of doing it before). But then, there's this guy. Watch this short video to see how this dumb pedestrian jaywalks: This incident took place along Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, towards Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. Plain dumb or ignorant? Of all the times to jaywalk, this fella decides to jaywalk when an oncoming car approaches the traffic light. And the worst part is that he doesn't even bother to look left and right for traffic before crossing. A near-miss The jaywalker can be seen raising his hand and using the "force" to stop the cam car just before it hits him. (Nah, I am kidding - If not for the cam car's quick reflexes, an accident would have already occurred.) The worst part about it is that the jaywalker did not seem to realise that he almost got into an accident and walks off, cool as a cucumber Netizens' comments LMAO, the ending got me. Cheapo Mercedes driver uses emergency fire hose to wash car

A cheapo Mercedes e250 owner is under fire for using water from the fire hose to wash her vehicle in a multi-storey carpark. Caught at a HDB estate in Ang Mo Kio, the video shows a family utilising a fire hose reel to wash their car on the seventh level of a multi-storey carpark. The lady (presumably the mother) slowly fills up a bucket which her son is holding with water from the high-pressure hose. According to the cam car, this family does not reside around the area, but that does not stop them from frequenting the carpark every Sunday morning for their weekly car wash. Under the Public Utilities Regulations, no person shall use water supplied by the Board to wash any vehicle using a hose, pipe or any other appliance attached to a water tap or a draw-off point. This excludes the water taps at designated car washing areas. Any person who violates this regulation is guilty of wasting water and that's a chargeable offence. While this is not the first time a driver was caught using a fire hose reel to wash their car, it is an incredibly inconsiderate act and a waste of precious resources intended for actual emergencies. Netizens’ reactions TBH, as much as the driver wants to cut costs, she should use the designated car washing bays instead. These areas are equipped with proper water dispensers and hoses, and some carparks even have a Car Care System machine, which comes with a high-pressure water jet and a vacuum cleaner. If she can afford to have a Mercedes e250, surely she can afford a couple of dollars for a proper car wash. -
Now this can be a scary sight for those living close to the incident. A Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid taxi has apparently caught fire caught fire in an open air carpark at Block 201 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on 18 September. As reported by Stomp, flames and smoke can be seen engulfing a black car (likely a Seat SUV) and nearly catching a Toyota Hiace van that narrowly managed to escape. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the fire at 10.55pm and they managed to "extinguish the fire using one water jet and three compressed air foam backpacks," said an SCDF spokesman. The cause of fire is under investigation and no injuries have been reported.

Posted by the people of SG Road Vigilante are photos of some bikes parked along the pavement of Ang Mo Kio Ave 9, near the Yio Chu Kang Sport Complex. The photos, which showed quite a few bikes on the pavement, were taken on the 20th of July and captured the bikes all parked neatly on the side of the pavement. Despite the many available parking lots in the carpark which the bikes were already in, the owners of the bikes were said to have parked it on the pavement instead as they wanted their bikes to be in the shade. A quick glance at the comments saw many netizens flaming and taunting SG Road Vigilante as the bikes parked there actually belonged to police officers who worked at the nearby AMK police HQ. Interestingly, SG Road Vigilante retaliated and filed a complaint with the OneService platform. We hope they update everyone on whether these bike owners will get any form of punishment...

Traffic Police bike gets into accident while chasing offender

Now this is not something the residents of Ang Mo Kio get to see everyday! A Traffic Police officer has apparently skidded on the wet floor and crashed his Yamaha bike at the lift lobby of Block 619 Ang Mo Kio. As reported by SG Road vigilante, the incident happened on 27 May 2020 and eye witnesses claim that the officer was trying to chase another motorbike through the void deck when the police officer lost control and hit the wall. The comments by netizens were generally supportive of the officer going all the way in the fight for justice, with the usual few negative views here and there. -

Of course, being electric-powered, there is plenty of torque to pull away from the rest of the traffic. The camera car gets dropped once the lights turn green but soon manages to follow behind after some time. No traffic lights along Lentor Avenue? Let's switch into 'max speed mode' then! we are no scientists or mathematicians but a wild guess probably puts the rider speed above the road's speed limit of 70km/h. Soon, he encounters traffic and goes past easily. The rest of the video then shows him passing more vehicles like a pro. Rider even checks his blind spot when changing lane. Bravo! By now, it is 4 minutes into the length of the video and the rider is already traveling along Ang Mo Kio Ave 6.
