    During one of our cruise stops recently, we had a day in Athens. Technically the ship called at the Port of Piraeus, which was very near Athens. We hired a private driver to bring us around for the day, and it was a wonderful day with good weather, bearing in mind this was December (i.e. winter). We saw the changing of guards at the Greek Parliament, went up Mt Lycabettus, Acropolis including Aeropagus, New Acropolis museum and other sights.
