  3. If you can manage a coffee shop, you can be a MP. In today's ST, Ah Loong is so proud of Ah Tin managing her father eating house at Ghim Moh when her dad suffered a heart attack. Based on this reasoning, I feel that many of us here can also be MP. Better PAP open a kopi tiam in Macpherson and appoint Ah Tin as the CEO.
  4. Hi all, feeling a little fed up. Tend to travel on CTE quite often. I know lane 1 is for fast speeding car.As I am normally driving at 90km/h,I tend to stick to the 2nd lane on the expressway, especially on cte. Why does those vans, lorries alway travel on the 2nd lane at 60km/h?? don't they know they are hogging the road. I know there are very slow trailers on lane 3 but after cutting into lane 2,can't you drive back to lane 3. I don't mind vehicles travelling at 80km but 60km?? Sometime realli pissed off by them,I purposely cut in front of them and drive at 50km.Let them know how it feel. Lane 1 too fast. Lane 3 too slow. I wanna travel at lane 2,also cannot. why can't LTA or TP do something about them.
  5. This video is sweet
  6. I believe all humans want a certain degree of respect even if some don't deserve it. But the real world is not cut out to be that way if one is to maintain a certain level of control over certain types ppl. Take for example the employment of maids or in short FDWs or low class FTs (LCFT). I believe that most employers want to have a maid they can trust and so accord the maid a certain degree of freedom with respect. But the likelyhood of such trust and freedom given to such ppl, is that it will be abused. So many employers turn to CCTV and other means to pre-empt such undesirable behaviours from their FDWs or (LCFT) from sprouting! Saying it like one is a 'Ideal employer' in any forums, who accord such ppl with trust and respect is easy....until the very nasty things these ppl do take a few hits at them personally! I am not against evaluating the merits to be accorded individually for each FDW or LCFT they employ. But the truth is there are more of such ingradtitude type' ppl that exists to be FDWs & LCFTs, that they have very little need to return the same gratitude that you are giving to them. The fact that they are indeed getting a 'better life' here then back in their home land....the FDWs or LCFTs never appreciate this and seeks ways to exploit it whenever and where ever they can.... Just my 2 cts
  7. Is it even remotely possible? City influx shocks Singapore panel Surendra Gangan Wednesday, October 31, 2007 03:23 IST ==================================== MUMBAI: Singapore
  8. JDM CTR by 3 sec in a track race. No surprise there....
  9. My fren told me that his two frens recently traded in Sunny with Mark X. Both of them claimed that FC of Mark X is better than Sunny. Opinion? I will think that it is the ultimate "disgrace" to Sunny as Mark X is 2.5l while Sunny is 1,6l.
  10. Hey bros, my colleagues traded in their Markx for sunny because markx has high road tax, high fc and high maintenance. However, they claimed that when Markx is traveling on NSH, it's FC is soooooooooooooo much better than Sunny during city driving. Sighz
  11. I was searching for a new set of tyres to replace the P6000s that my car came with and found this article. The entire article is too large to be uploaded so I've provided the title in full above. If you want to read the full article, just do a yahoo search based on the above. It's a pdf file. I've attached the results. Guess if noise level is the concern, this study is as objective as they come. tyrenoise.pdf
  12. Manual car washing with a sponge or mit actually scratches your car more and an automated car wash machine does not. OK before you go crucify me, let me elaborate. Car manufacturing plants have car wash facilities. These are way much better than the stupid petrol kiosk types we have with plastic twirling brushes. Also note that these wash facilities actually use tons of water for the wash. Yes, lots of water compared to the petrol kiosk types that use very little water. They also use soft cloth and foam washing material. So in order to replicate their washing technique to minimize scratches, you need to hold a hose in one hand and the washing device in the other (soft sponge/cloth) and run the hose on the surface you were washing to achieve the same protection an automatic carwash provides. With our MSCP's with coin op water dispensing, we cannot attain this. A good wash helps preserve your detailing work not destroy it. If what Mercedes-Benz says is true, all the manual car washes we have in the kiosks are all destroying cars bit by bit.
  13. The world's coolest cars - 10 - 1 10 - Mini Cooper (BMC) 9 - Ford GT There's no argument; the new GT is so much better looking than the original GT40. Not because its profile is less compromised by racing necessities, nor because its surfaces and details are tight and tidy, but because when you think of a GT40, the car you are picturing in your mind's eye is actually the GT. And if that doesn't bag it for you, Ford will paint your GT any colour you want and that includes Gulf colours. 8 - BMW Z1 7 - Nissan 350Z 6 - Lancia Stratos Rally car gets supercar looks - shock, horror - and the toffs promptly prise open their wallets: Herbert von Karajan, dictatorial conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, had one in the colour of snot and it still looked glorious. Further proof that Marcello Gandini has designed most of the world's best looking cars and that rallying is wrong to suppose we're actually seduced by a Citroen Xsara in flared trousers. 5 - Mercedes-Benz SL 4 - Audi RS6 3 - Smart Roadster 2 - Land Rover Defender 1 - Aston Martin DB5 The suit, the drink (a classic Mint Julep for once) and, of course, Pussy Galore: even without the silver DB5 parked there behind him on Erno Goldfinger's driveway, Bond would always come out on top (and, I seem to recall, underneath, astride, and sideways on too). Goldfinger made Bond and it probably made Aston Martin too. For a certain generation ? and I'm talking about you and me ? the very definition of a car was about six inches long, gold, with revolving number plates, a roof and passenger seats that popped open, little machine guns that popped out the front and a funny old shield thing that popped out the rear. An attachment like that can never be broken or surpassed.
