Current using that dvd hu, wanna play my ipod as a simple mp3 player and not for video playback. Was quoted $180+ for the interface adapter KCA-IP500. I was wondering if this unit is able to aux in? Really new to I.C.E

Or at least, got a solid target date on when that can happen. You see, right now, I'm driving my dad's car. A Camry. He changed car earlier this year, to a smaller, sportier but less practical car. But because his work nature, he still needs a bigger car to ferry people around sometime. Since I was also looking to buy a car (albeit a small, rundown, 2-3 year old 1.5-1.6 liter Jap car), he said to me 'hey, you use this first'. The situation's about to change......maybe mid or end of next year. So I can finally get a proper car that is properly suited for me (small, rundown, 2-3 year old 1.5-1.6 liter Jap car, heh). So, yes, finally, a real ride of my own. But can't really complain about the current situation. After all, paying just the road tax, insurance, petrol and parking for a Camry. But at least, with the small car, my FC, RT and INS really goes down a lot.

Just throwing a question here. Combustion engines will go the way of the dinosaur one day. It seems that electric powered cars (probably electric motors) is the way to go for the future. Once that happens, the exhaust noise that some people love will be gone as well.... You will no longer hear the engine noise and exhaust boom booomm booomm...... Its going to be extremely quiet when car is idle (not even idling cause motor will not run at all). When you step on the throttle, you feel the surge of power but you hear nothing. Maybe just a soft high pitch whine from the motor. The big question is..... Are you able to cope and get used to such quiet cars?

The other day I was discussing with my colleague on what happen if battery dead, and need to push-start a car. My colleague from electrical training told me that modern car using ECU need electricity to function. In case battery dead, there will be no electricity to start a manual transmission car even if we attempt push start, because ECU does not function. Older generation car can be push-start because not so depended on electrical power. For those whom had the unlucky experience of successfully push-start a modern car, please share your experience on which model car you did it on. Thanks.

Are you guys aware of this? If someone spot that you leave ur car engine idle, and u left ur car for some time, they can actually submit ur car plate, location etc to NEA and you can be fined... champion.

Hi, in recent months in singapore, i have been encountering strangers stopping me and asking me for spare coins. Their reason they gave is that they are short of $ to take bus or mrt. They simply ask "excuse me, i need some $ to take mrt, i am short of some, can u give me some coins?" i am sure sometimes we may be stuck in this situation, i can imagine myself forgetting to bring wallet and short of coins and may need help. If i am to approach a complete stranger, i will be asking him for a loan, get his contact number. Be it 20cents or $1 and will definitely pay back the amount. If the strangers are really kind and generous, they may tell me to keep it, no need pay back etc. but those that i met are well bodied, mature middle age men. they simply expect me to give them $$. What's the difference between throwing away self-dignity and begging for $ in these cases? and trust me.. i have been in that situation once. i tried to borrow $1 from a guy and insist that i want to pay him back and he simply smile and say its ok and walk away, leaving me feeling grateful. in the 90s when i am a student, i was always super broke, ever lived on bread for days, and having not enough to take bus. There was once i only have less than $2, i boarded an SBS bus from clementi mrt, heading towards Bendemeer to meet a classmate to borrow $20 to tide over. then when i reach orchard, a bus inspector came onboard (i paid the minimum fare, as not enuf $ for next ride), i have to get down and i dun have enough to take the next bus to my friend's house. i got stuck in orchard at 1030pm!. the only option is to walk to bendemeer, call him hoping he can come to my rescue, or ask strangers for $. i chose to walk and after some distance, i decided to call him for help. Thank god he is going out for supper with his dad (and they are driving), they drove to orchard to pass me the $ but i was so embarassed but i was grateful. i seriously hope those men that i have met are frauds, who simply cook up some lies to earn $, rather than those who throw away their dignity and beg for $. If their case is genuine, shouldn they be calling whatever help they can find like calling family and friends 1st rather than asking for spare coins and simply do not expect to return? i am pretty disturbed by these encounters.. if those guys come up to me and tried to borrow some $1-2 from me, i would gladly help them and wouldn't expect them to return the $$, i believe what kindness others have shown to me, i should show them to others. but they are simply asking me to give them the $$ which is against my principle. i would give $$ to real beggers, disabled, unfortunate etc but not abled-bodied men. have u guys encountered this before and what would u do? -

After 6 months and 25k km, my black ride is looking a bit jialat with small scratches and swirls. I'm thinking of DIY detailing but am newbie to this. I chanced upon this Klasse Starter Kit (1 x AIO (100ml) + 1 x SG (100ml)) at their website http://www.klassesg.com/store.html which claims to be enough 'to do up 3 Toyota Vios'. Their price of $19.90 is cheap and I'm thinking of trying this out. Realistically speaking, for a newbie like me who might end up using more than necessary, do you guys think this 100ml package can really last 1 vios (not to mention 3)??? Somemore mine is black car...

Dear seniors, old bird, lao jiao, I am a newbie to this . Sleeping member for quite a while and finally discover how to post message. I need your advice on the following: As u know, new car prices are at historic low . I am currently driving a Nissan Sunny EX (1.5) Manual, registered in June 2002. I have an outstanding loan amount of $35,000 (monthly payment of $630 with interest 2.45% over 7 years). I am thinking of changing to a new car (prefer Toyota Vios 1.5 Auto mainly because of the low fuel consumption). However, if possible, I want to retain the status quo. Meaning, same monthly payment and no need to pay cash down payment. Is it possible? Was thinking if the price is so low, why drive an old car with such high fuel consumption. Please give your frank opinion.
