  2. Hi all, My Mazda 3's stock central locking system (do you call the thing that locks your car doors that?) does not come with an alarm and I would like to add an alarm to it so that I can try to find my car when I forget where I park it. I am interested in the Viper alarm sound . My question is can I just add the sound to my existing system? Such that whenever I press my stock Mazda remote the sound comes on? The second question is any brothers here can recommend a reliable workshop to do the above? A search on old threads and google didn't really give many options. Many thanks for your help!
  3. Hi, Need some help here.. I recently purchase a Viper 3305V Alarm and it stopped chirping when i lock or unlock my car. The lights still flash though. I read up and it seems that it is due to my car in valet mode. I have tried many options suggested: 1) press the aux and open button together 2) press door open and close together while slightly hold 3) press and release the aux button followed by the door open They all dont work. Any ideas ?
  4. I have no idea what was wrong with Chrysler engineer, Martin Morse. We have yet to even see a few, if at all, of the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper on our shores or in other parts of the world. Yes, the car was launched just not so long ago, it's the latest Viper from the American automaker Dodge which means it's still a fresh model. Yet, Morse had already ruined one good example of the model. On 22nd April 2013, according to eyewitnesses, the car should have been going at a speed beyond 112km/h on US Highway 23. According to Michigan State Police, the temperature on that day was near-freezing and there was also light rain. The police believed that Morse must have flexed the snake's muscles too hard. Morse lost control of the car, slided across lanes and then hit a fence that separated the highway northbound and southbound lanes. Fortunately enough, the car was pretty low that it managed to get through the upper and middle cables. Unfortunately, being low as it was, the car couldn't get past the bottom cable. I believe that it must have been the bottomcable, a thick braided cord made of steel, that had caused Morse his death, as the cable cut through the car's cabin. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that there was no mechanical fault involved in the incident. So, it seems that Morse had pushed the throttle too much under wrong weather conditions.
  5. [extract] Chrysler, parent company of Street and Racing Technology (SRT) and manufacturers of the lusty 2013 Viper have announced U.S. pricing for the 2013 SRT Viper Models and have dropped lots of images. The racing stripes are back! SRT's flagship performance machine, the slithering Viper has quite literally risen from the ashes like a phoenix and has returned with more power, performance and superior craftsmanship. Well it
  6. Beautiful creatures, but also fierce. Those venturing there, becareful. I went to the boardwalk before, luckily never met one. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...d_at_pasir.html
  7. While we poor sods in South East Asia don't really get to drive or see the darn thing in the flesh I am still pretty excited about the new SRT Viper and Viper GTS. This new SRT Viper is now powered by an 8.4-litre V10 engine. It has a composite intake, high-strength forged pistons, sodium-filled exhaust valves and better free flow catalysts compared to the last 2010 model. This huge V10 engine produces approximately 640hp and 814Nm of torque. A good 40hp and 54Nm more than the previous engine which actually does not seem much since it already has 600bhp to play with in the first place. The tubular steel space frame gets a magnesium cowl and is clothed in a body that features a carbon fiber hood, roof and boot. It also has aluminum doors and plastic quarter panels. In other words, the 2013 SRT Viper is about 45kg lighter (at 1,521kg)than the model it replaces. It is also 50% stiffer structurally than the previous model, which means that the Viper could actually be an American super coupe that actually handles well. So why am I blogging about a car that most of us over here would never set eyes on one? The reason is that this part of the world isn't truly immune to having these left-hand drive monsters. I remember years, or was it a decade or so ago seeing one at a motorshow in Kuala Lumpur. It looked stunning in red with its long bonnet (a very phallic symbol in my opinion) and those twin side exhausts is a sight to behold. Seven or so years ago I managed to catch another one in the pits at the Sepang F1 track over in Malaysia. A second generation race prepped Dodge Viper had participated in the Merdeka Endurance Race that time and the team that brought it over was prepping it for an upcoming race. They weren't shy in letting a motorhead like get close to it while they were tweaking it. And when they started it up it was like rolling thunder I tell you. Rolling thunder. Intoxicating and truly epic.
  8. Luckily the jockey was safe and no injuries or property damages on the ground. Just wondering how the SK fire station official could inititally identify it as the ugly Warthog but I guess maybe the mangled wreckage was unidentifieable or/and he was unfamiliar with jets. Anyway US$18.8m excluding ordnance and others up in smoke.... Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Dynam...Fighting_Falcon From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1190349/1/.html US military jet crashes in S. Korea, pilot safe Posted: 21 March 2012 1520 hrs SEOUL: A US military F-16 jet crashed in southern South Korea Wednesday during a training mission but its pilot ejected to safety, US authorities said. The plane crashed into a rice paddy around noon (0300 GMT) near a US air base in the western port city of Gunsan, the US military said in a statement. "The (lone) pilot safely ejected before the plane crashed. Emergency response teams are on scene at this time," it said. There were no casualties or serious damage on the ground, a US air force spokesman said, adding details would be released later. A local fire station officer in Seocheon county near Gunsan said previously the pilot was injured and taken away by ambulance. The officer had identified the aircraft involved as an A-10 tank buster. The crash came as South Korean and US troops stage an annual joint military exercise, called Foal Eagle, from March 1 to April 30. It was unclear if the F-16 was involved in the drill. North Korea habitually fiercely denounces annual joint exercises by US and South Korean troops as a rehearsal for invasion. Seoul and Washington say they are merely defensive in nature. The United States has based troops in the South since the 1950-53 war and the force currently numbers 28,500. - AFP/ck

  11. Hi All, Who is the authorised Distributor / Dealer / Reseller / Agent or Installer for Viper Alarm and CrimeStopper in Singapore? I had a bad experience with a so called dealer for Viper and recommended installer. The installers had no freaking idea how to install and connect the Viper 2-way alarm with remote start. He kept having to call someone and kept getting it wrong. Had to visit the place multiple times wasting a few days of my precious life. Finally just accepted the fact that they cannot, not within their capacity to fully install the alarm system. Now I need another alarm system for my new car, and thus the hunting begins again. Thanks.

One of my friends who imports car accessories told me that he can get for me a Crimestopper CS-2016FM 2-Way FM Deluxe paging combo for $510 which he claims retails for more than $1k here. However, other friends told me to get Viper instead. 2 Qns ------ 1. Is it worth it to buy the Crimestopper CS-2016FM for $510 w/o installation? 2. Should i get a Viper System instead? If yes, which Viper system, any bros got lobang? 3. As i go to JB quite often, will the installation of the alarm system help? Or is the immobiliser good enough? Tks for any comments

  20. http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_startech_viper_srt-10-1.jpg http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_startech_viper_srt-10-2.jpg SRT-10: The success story of the American sports car legend Dodge Viper adds another chapter: Startech offers an exclusive tuning program. While the Startech performance kit for the 8.3-liter V10 engine with normally 506 hp (372 kW) is still under development, other Startech modifications will be available shortly. The Startech front spoiler lip gives the roadster an even more striking appearance while reducing lift on the front axle at high speeds, thus further improving directional stability. Classic roadster design is the trait of the stainless-steel Startech rollover bars mounted behind the seats. The exciting looks of the two-seater can be customized further with Startech Monostar V spoke wheels. For optimal traction the rear is fitted with 345/25 ZR 20 high-performance tires mounted on 13.5Jx20 Startech wheels. The tires were custom-developed for the Startech-tuned Viper by Pirelli and are available exclusively from Startech. These gigantic wheels are a prerequisite for installing the Startech high-performance brake system, which utilizes the largest components ever used in a street-legal sports car. On the front axle the system features vented and slotted disks with a diameter of 405 millimeters and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers. The rear axle is fitted with 355-millimeter disks and six-piston calipers. This brake system makes the Dodge Viper also perfectly suited for fast action on the racetrack. The Startech sport suspension is perfectly matched to the 19- and 20-inch tires. Bound and rebound of the suspension are adjustable and the ride height can be set to customers' individual preferences. The Viper can be lowered by up to 20 millimeters. The Startech program for the new Viper is rounded out by exclusive interior options. The selection includes sporty accessories such as a shift knob and sill plates, both with illuminated Startech logos. A center and middle console made from genuine carbon and aluminum foot pedals are also available. The Startech upholstery shop handcrafts exclusive interiors for the new Viper at the highest level of perfection. For more added exclusivity and especially striking looks Startech offers an interior made from a combination of especially soft yet highly durable Mastik and Alcantara leathers, available in any desired color. Loving attention to detail is evident in many made-to-order options such as leather floor with waffle-design stitching. For optimal protection of the soft top in its folded position the Startech interior designers developed custom covers for the recesses in which the folded soft top disappears.
