After a car inspection at VICOM or STA, some guys will stick a VICOM/STA sticker on your rear windscreen. It is very difficult to remove, worst if u try to remove it after it has been there for months. It causes stains the windscreen. And the sticker is nothing to be proud of, but an ugly eyesore. Do u guys allow them to stick sticker on your car without your permission, using your car as free advertisement for their company?

Hey Dudes!! It's me again! My car will be due for it's first vicom car inspection. I've got some worries here and hope brothers here can give me some useful advices. My ride : Honda Civic ES5 Auto, 2003 (Pre-facelift Civic) My engine, muffler, intake manifold, extractor, cat converter, exhaust.....all stock and original. However, I have a pair of Angel Eye, which is a dual halo projector headlights with 6000K HID installed. I'm worried that the inspector will fail becoz of my headlights and my HID as they're after-market accessories. How?? What should I do......it's really a big hassle to change everything back to original prior my inspection....

I guess I am not the only frustrated owner to be waiting for LTA to approve VICOM and then VITAS. LTA says takes about a month to 2 before a Cat B car can be released... urm yes, a Cat B car and NOT a Cat A car so no issue of turbo or not... The purpose of this thread is to seek clarity on the process and procedures before the car can be released to the owner. There is no transparency from the authorities. Don't understand why one car has to go through 2 inspections and of different sorts to waste everyone's time. Couldn't this be done all at one queue and one visit? How many weeks to get an appointment to clear VICOM? 1 - 2 months. How many weeks to get another appointment to clear VITAS? 1 - 2 weeks. VICOM is causing the queue... true? VITAS can just queue on the spot and get cleared within a day while LTA takes an other week or 2 to issue the certificate... true? What do the check at VICOM or VITAS? The above all based on hear say... like i said, always hearing different things from people. Would appreciate feedback from folks who understand the system and clear serious doubts...

My IU drop out from my car recently and I called up LTA to tell them about my problem and ask where I can get my IU fixed. They refer me to VICOM. I then drove to VICOM and waited for 20 mins plus to get my IU "inspected". The mechanics tell me this: "Either you buy the IU bracket or u go outside and buy the 3M tape to paste my IU back" Huh???!!? I was shocked and went on to say that "Hey aren't my IU under warranty?" and the VICOM guy tells me that "Only the IU is under warranty, not the holder" So now I think what the gahmen is telling me this. "The IU is what we treasure most cos it generates $$$ when you go pass our ERP but for your own safety.. nah.. its yours.. so better pay up to get the bracket replaced or get your own 3M tape or any tape to paste it back and hopefully during an accident, it won't fly out and hit your head!" I am absolutely appalled to hear that. Although it is just a small thing but come to think of that, this small thing can result in fatal accident. I remembered once that the media did focus on the safety of the IU and even showed the scene whereby one car kena accident and the IU was still intact and remains safe cos think the members of the public was worried about that. But now, this small thing happened to my car and no one bothers about it and even ask me to pay for the bracket. Oh c'mon, what is the price of the bracket when compared to the amount of ERP that we have been giving all these while. Isn't our safety worth more than that few dollars?
