Found a 3cm long deep scratch on the rear door of my new car today, it was horizontal, and almost certainly made deliberately by a sharp object such as a key with alot of force in order to leave a deep indentation. One of the hazards of parking a new car in a public carpark I guess! Unfortunately because my in-car cameras are only front and rear facing, they would not have been able to capture the vandal at his act. Just wondering if anyone has any idea of how some camera system can somehow be installed so as to cover the sides of the vehicle when parked? Am fearful that the vandal may strike again.

The small Detroit company has also developed pushrod front and rear suspension for the sports car that uses JRi adjustable dampers and sway bars. The vehicle’s spring rate can also be customized, while various drive modes adjust the ride height from five inches above the road to just two inches. Each and every Vandal One built will also come complete with a telemetry system which allows for real-time monitoring of vehicle data from the pit lane, while the driver is putting in fast laps. Vandal will sell the base 340 hp One for $119,700 but has yet to release pricing for the more powerful versions. Pre-orders with a $1,000 deposit will open later this year.

SINGAPORE: Police arrested a 25-year-old woman who is believed to have painted "MY GRANDFATHER ROAD" on several roads in Singapore. The STOMPer reported: "My car got smashed on the windscreen twice yesterday (Mar 13) when it was parked at an open air carpark at Yishun Street 22. "Apparently this is not the first case of vandalism at this carpark. "My car is the tenth car we know of that got smashed by this vandal in the past few months and the culprit has not been caught yet. "My family and I personally witnessed four cases of vandalism over the past few months. "Just a block away, three cars were smashed on the windscreen in one night, some time last year in Jan/Feb. "This was confirmed by the shop owners near the carpark. "We were also told by the police officers there were around 10 cases of vandalism reported at that carpark. On early Sat morning (0005hrs), I parked my car along Keong Saik Rd, for the famous porridge stall. Many of you will know the porridge stall at / around chinatown. I parked at one of the sheltered carpark. After I parked, I walked out of the carpark and just happen to walk back to take a look at the Parking Notice Sign, to confirm that after 10pm is FREE parking. I was walking behind this "uncle" about 5 metres away. When I was at the entrance of the carpark, I saw this uncle suddenly walk towards my car, what followed next was a looooong loud screeching sound. It shocked me. He did it so causally. Just walk past and happilly scratched. The same followed for other cars. Including a Merc CLK. I followed behind the guy hoping to be able to trace him, perhaps he stays ard the area. Then I heard a car being unlocked. It was his car. STUPID isnt it? I took down his license plate number. Called 999 to inform, should he be stopped at a road block. And I made a police report shortly after. I left a note on the windscreen of the CLK, and we are working together to nail the b------d. He too made a report. From an internal source, the car belongs to a LADY. Perhaps the owner. Insurance stated owner is NOT DRIVING. I have got the address too. But lets put this aside first. The IO called and inform to call 999 should his car be spotted, don't alreat the driver. Just call. They need to ascertain the actual driver. This car and person is now on the wanted list. I know chances are slim but still on behalf of my friend would like to try my luck looking for the culprit This incident happened at Sengkand Rivervale Dr MSCP 117D betweem Jan 14 ( Monday ) night to Jan 15 morining (Tuesday), my friend white Airwave was badly vandalised by some mofo, it was a deliberate act due to the facts below 1. My friend forgot to lock his car on that day , one Ipod was on the dashboard, 2 handphone and 1 PSP was in the glove compartment, nothing was taken, that shows its not a attempt to steal anything not even the cash card was taken/ The damaged caused , all rubber seals at the door melt , paint corroded at side door , bonnet , visor melted, windscreen smashed. Cause of the damaged : we concluded that someone rode on a motorbike and came by, splash industrial paint remover / acid over the car, and smash the windscreen using his helmet and fled Total cost of damage incurred : 10k according to the workshop Money is not important, more important we are trying to find out which mofo who did this and his arse big time. My friend is a nice guy he does not go around stepping on people toes, due to the nature of our jobs in army , some people would get ticked of by us, and we do have some suspects just that would like to see if there is any witness around and bring the forum's attention to this matter and stay alert if this fella is not a deliberate act, that means a madman is on the loose

Vandal caught scratching car in Hougang By Wong Mun Wai, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 12 June 2007 2104 hrs SINGAPORE: Tired of being victims of a vandal, Hougang resident Ang Shuenn Guan and his wife decided to set up a camera to capture evidence. And it worked - one video clearly showed a hand running beside a car. The person who was filmed vandalising the resident's car later confessed to the police. "My wife showed his photo to him and asked if he recognised the person. He was surprised and asked [how] we got his photo. My wife asked him what he did to our car. He said he did nothing. After that, I said everything is recorded by closed circuit TV. Then he confessed in front of the police," said Mr Ang. The next morning, a letter was left on the couple's windscreen. The letter-writer had offered to settle the matter out of court and compensate the couple for the damage. The letter from the culprit's wife addressed to the Ang's read: "I am pleading with you to give our family a chance". The letter is dated Monday, and continues with her hoping to "settle this matter among ourselves". The offer does not address the damages done to other cars which have also been scratched. Mr Ang, who called the MediaCorp News hotline, had to fork out about S$6,000 for repair works. It is not the first time cars in this area have been scratched.
