Personally, I'll get a Toyota, but not the Hilux.. The Landcruiser or Prado.. But I can understand why SAF likes the Hilux... I mean, if the terrorists like it, it must be good https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2015-10-09/terrorists-love-of-toyotas-is-no-mystery https://abcnews.go.com/International/us-officials-isis-toyota-trucks/story?id=34266539

New aggressive lines with the same useful practicality, that is the Audi Q7!
SGCM_editorial posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Welcome back, and we have another review with sgCarMart! And today, we have the 2020 Audi Q7! Being the largest and most practical vehicle in the Audi lineup, the Q7 has been refreshed, and it now comes with more aggressive lines seen in its stablemates, but still retains that utility and practicality that it was brought to the table. After all, a seven-seat vehicle is always useful. So, let's see what Julian has to say about the Q7. From the get-go, it looks handsome. Audi's design language has been pretty good these past years, nothing too controversial. And not to mention, their gorgeous daytime running lights and sequential signals are always a welcome touch. I mean, just look at it. Audi really has it down pat with the design of the grille and those daytime running lights. And if you can take anyone's word for it, it is Julian's. "Jumping into this car, it instantly made me feel comfortable". That's pretty high praise, I would say. That grille is indeed pretty bold, and as per Julian said, he's not sure if the grille will suit the Q3 or Q5, but it fits the Q7. And to get more context on how big the Q7 really is.... The rear of the Q7 looks just as good, sleek, modern and clean. No need to fuss around when lowering the third row of seats. Audi has already thought of that and given you buttons to electronically lower the seats. Audi knows the Q7 is a tall vehicle and loading it can be difficult for shorter people, so there is also a button to lower the rear of the car so as to make loading stuff in easier. About 750 litres of boot space with the third row folded. If that isn't enough for you, knocking down the second row will give you over 2000 litres of cargo space. And if that still isn't enough, get a van. And if you're wondering, yes, the boot opens and closes electronically as well. With the seat set to Jon's height (Jon is about 1.8m tall), Julian has a ton of leg room, even headroom. A blessing in Singapore's weather, the Q7 comes with rear aircon vents not only in the middle, but also on the B-pillars so as to blow air directly at rear passengers. And surprisingly, the third row actually doesn't look too bad. As long as you aren't too big or tall, you should be able to fit nicely back here. Clean, sleek and modern with screens for your infotainment, climate control and instrument cluster. The Virtual Cockpit, as Audi terms it. And always appreciated in a big car, 360 degree parking cameras and sensors. Still curious? Find out more on what Julian has to say about the Q7 in the video review below! -
This is a thread asking how much do you spend on your utility bill monthly and how we can reduce it Dear friends I was in a chat with some friends over lunch and I was shocked to find the variation, so I hope everyone can share the amount they spend and also how they reduce it. Maybe everyone can post the total bill size (including gas, water and electricity if it is from different vendors) and the number of members in the household and any other info? Eg I have a friend in a four storey landed with 9 pax and two kids who use $900 plus a month - they have the aircon turned on in the living room most of the waking hours. Another young couple only use $30 a month and they spend most of their time at work and seldom eat at home. Here are some tips on saving electricity from Asiaone : https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/10-hacks-save-your-water-and-electricity-bill-home More tips: https://iswitch.com.sg/save-electricity-tips/ https://www.pub.gov.sg/savewater/athome/watersavinghabits

http://dai.ly/x12scfx The team behind the Ken Block's Gymkhana videos (Mad Media) is back with the vengeance - this time round, more brutal and daring (almost insane) in their venture. Polaris RZR XP 1000. What is it? From the same people who makes snowmobiles and motorcycles, it is a top-of-range Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) - think of it as a special ops vehicle, and it should make your viewing more pleasurable. A 1.0-litre with 107bhp may not sound a lot to begin with, but it will propel the RZR to 50km/h in a little over two seconds, and 80km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Apparently, Mad Media has created the video as part of the campaign for the launch of the new model. The UTV featured in the video, though, has been extensively modified. The team has roped in off-road truck racer and UTV champion RJ Anderson to pilot the end product. In our eyes, the stuns are definitely more mental than before, and should send some chills down your spine while at it. Enjoy the 10 full minute of wholesome entertainment.

Recently there are many mixed development; commercial units downstairs and residential upstairs. Some call this SOHO concept. Now just one question, for those residential units, do they pay commercial utility fees (electricity & water) or normal residential utility fees?

I was amused when I watched the energy saving show with families fighting for the title of most energy saving home. Their utility bills in 4 room flat are so damn low even before contest. They have CRT TV, air-con, front loading washer and etc. Not to mention about $20+, even $60 monthly bill is something that I can't fugure out how to achieve. My bill can go as high as $300 monthy. So what could they have done right in the 1st place? Regards,

FAMILIES living in HDB homes will receive utility rebates of up to $220 in the next six months, with those in smaller flats getting more. In all, about $134 million will be given out to more than 780,000 HDB households this fiscal year, said the Ministry of Finance yesterday. The rebates will be given in two stages: the first next month and the second tranche in January next year. People living in one- or two-room flats, for example, will get rebates totalling $220, while those living in a four-room flat will receive $190, the statement said. These Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates were introduced last year, to be given out annually for five years. Altogether, $550 million will be disbursed. The rebates are part of a $4 billion package to offset the 2 percentage point hike in the goods and services tax, which kicked in last year. Singapore Power will inform families of what they will get in their July utility bill. The sum will be used to offset a family's bill directly. The ministry said that, for most families, next month's rebates were more than enough to cover this year's tariff increases when coupled with those given out in January this year. So GOOD ?

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp.../107767/1/.html SEOUL: South Korea's largest carmaker Hyundai Motor is recalling more than 200,000 Santa Fe sport utility vehicles due to faulty wiring, the transportation ministry said. The voluntary recall over the next one and a half years will affect 204,490 Santa Fe units made between November 1 in 2000 and January 18 in 2004, the ministry said. The wiring fault affects the vehicle's supplementary diesel heater and could lead to damage to an electric terminal or a downgrade of the heating system, the ministry said. Hyundai and its sister company Kia Motors control 70 percent of South Korea's car market. - AFP
