Now checking how much would it typically cost to repair minor kerb rash (the damaged parts are less than half the size of my little fingernail) and maybe respray it to a different color. Because the people at C&C advised me to do it outside and i dont want to kena chop carrot head.... Driving a MB CLC 180 with the stock 18 inches rims

  8. http://tnp.sg/news/story/0,4136,235208,00.html? The management committee (MC) of a Yio Chu Kang condominium has been putting up the names of residents who are behind in their maintenance fees on notice boards and in lifts of blocks where they live. The New Paper counted 36 names of Castle Green Condominium residents, who owed between $1,000 and nearly $10,000. Collectively they owe nearly $70,000. Next to each list was a notice warning that legal action may be taken against those who fail to pay their fees. Click here to find out more! The move has upset some residents at Castle Green – including those not on the list. They feel the MC is being overzealous. The Castle Green MC, made up of elected residents, declined to comment. But a managing agent for another condo said that "shame lists" are effective in making errant residents pay up. Hmm, Of coz u have to pqay, no $$$, stay condo, PHUI.... KNS.... pricks
  9. If the topic title is true then it is fair to assume that our HDB flat prices are unreasonably high especially when it is actually PUBLIC HOUSING. your reasoning and thoughts please. SIGN OF TROUBLED TIMES Typical US home now cheaper than HDB flat SO, how bad are things over there, really? 12 January 2009 SO, how bad are things over there, really? Hungry for first-hand news from the US 'economic warfront', I posed this delicate question about the US economy to Sok (a visiting sister-in-law back from Los Angeles for her year-end break). It's truly bad, she lamented, with an a typical grimace on her usually-beaming face. When we last met in LA around Christmas in 2007, they were happier times. Back then, our families shopped and dined at The Grove - a boutique outdoor shopping mall located across the street from the world-famous LA Farmer's Market - where, on a good day, you might just stumble upon a Hollywood celebrity (or two). Meltdown woes 'But today The Grove is much, much quieter,' Sok reported. 'You can feel it in the frigid air. And it's all no thanks to the meltdown on Wall Street.' To be sure, both Sok and her husband Murali hold relatively stable jobs. She works at an LA library while he teaches at the University of Southern California. But, not unlike many other Asian expatriates living in America, they, too, worry about whether home prices in the US will ever stop dropping - what with the median home over there now costing only US$180,800 ($268,500). Yes, the median American home is now cheaper than most HDB flats in Singapore. More importantly, my 'Chindian' in-laws also worry whether some of their friends, especially those working in California's Silicon Valley, could soon lose their jobs. Latest figures All in all, US employers shed a total of 2.6 million jobs in 2008 - the worst-ever year since 1945. This latest job loss figure points to a US job market that's still in a free fall. Many US companies across all sectors of the economy have, in fact, resumed mass layoffs (after a brief respite over the year-end holidays). Last week alone, insurance provider Cigna Corp, aluminum producer Alcoa Inc, data-storage company EMC Corp and computer products maker Logitech International have announced large job cuts. 'The toughest six months will be the just-completed fourth quarter and the first quarter of this year,' said Mr Robert Barbera, chief economist at the Investment Technology Group, a research and trading firm. Hope for recovery But Mr Barbera also noted that a widely anticipated trillion-dollar stimulus package should begin to revive the US economy in the second
  10. Hi guys, I was along Jln Eunos gg towards still road and at the junction of Changi Road, the scenario as shown in the pic below occurred. At the time, the light is green for the straight going, and red for those waiting to turn right at lane 1 and 2. I was driving along lane 3 all the while, with a white Mitsubishi infront (P plate with whole family sitting inside, crowded), and a taxi infront of the Mit. It was at a time when the taxi suddenly realized that he wanna turn right only as he get passed the end of the queue, and decided to just stop there, signal and wanted the van to give way to him. In this process, the whole of lane 3 was stuck, and it was impossible to go to lane 4 as traffic was very heavy. The van driver also quite guai lan and die die didnt wanan let taxi cut in. The taxi driver wound down his window and gestured (in a seemingly not so friendly manner) and only antagonized the van driver even more, causing him to edge very closely to prevent the cut. I found the whole situation very irritating and sounded a long horn TO THE TAXI. The taxi refused to barge.. eventually when the right turn arrow lit up, the taxi decided to just go forward and turn right anyhow making the car that was turning right then to do a preventive manouvre. I tot the whole episode was over then, and continued to drive forward with the Mit still infront.. nx thing i know, my gf said that the driver flashed me his middle finger and then the whole family keeps turning back to stare at me!! 1. Ehh.. concluded that the horn is not so discerning hor.. but the mit driver could have known that the honk is not directed at him? 2. Bloody right turning taxi could have just gone infront to make the U turn..which was not far away. Encountered this situation so often already.. always taxi... wtf...

  12. This is an absolute classic. The following is the transcript of an ACTUAL radio conversation in October 1995, between a US Navy ship off the coast of England, and the British authorities. The transcript was released by the Ministry of Defence on 10/10/95. BRITS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South, to avoid a collision. AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North, to avoid a collision.. BRITS: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. AMERICANS: This is the Captain of US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course. BRITS: Negative. I say again. You will have to divert your course. AMERICANS: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN. THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES ATLANTIC FLEET. THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS, AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS ACCOMPANY US. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH. THAT'S 15 DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP. [/size] BRITS: WE ARE A LIGHTHOUSE, F**K OFF

  14. I was travelling ard 12 noon on PIE towards Changi Airport. I was in lane one when suddenly the vehicles infront of me all braked. I was travelling 110km/h at that time, and had to jam brakes to ard 20km/h. I was wondering what happened! I realised that all the vehicles infront braked just to see the massive jam on the opposite lane(PIE,towards TUAS). For god sake! Its so dangerous!!
  15. "typical driver response time to react is about 7 sec or more" This was a statement made by someone. I personally feel that it is more likely to be 0.7 sec than 7 sec. I timed myself while going to the toilet just now...took less than 7 sec to finish peeing.
  16. Now we understand their obsession wif safety.....
