  1. Bros, hoping for some opinions from actual users of Milwaukee tools. Growing up, most of the power tools used in SG are Bosch or Makita, with the odd Hilti or De Walt occasionally appearing. From the US youtube videos of DIY and car repairs, most of them swear by Milwaukee tools which specializes in cordless stuff like impact wrench. I recently realized that Milwaukee now is quite widely sold and distributed in SG, but once you buy a single brand of cordless tools, I will be locked into the ecosystem as the batteries are proprietary and quite expensive. Wonder any bros have tried and compared?
  2. I am looking for a cordless power tool system, most likely 18v, which I can grow with. It would be for home and automotive use. For a start, I am looking at a impact wrench to remove the wheel lug nuts. I am also looking at a good impact drill for masonry work for the home. There are numerous brands of these cordless power tool system e.g. Makita, Bosch, Ryobi, Milwukee, etc. Do share your experience, please.

  13. I'm on the final leg of my studies here in aust and even though i can stay, I've decided on coming back home. Over the next year(since they're not exactly very cheap), im planning on amassing a really good set of tools, but for some more expensive items i'm wondering if i should buy it in sg or here in aust. My main concern is a torque wrench. How much are they in singapore, and what brands are supported as these need to be calibrated (I'm looking at either snap-on, kinchrome or sidchrome). Next would be a compression tester. The last is an electric rattle gun. How much are these in sg as they're abt $1.2k here in melb. Two minor bits that would be good to have in sg but arent essential would be a small dremmel rotary tool, and an angle grinder. Any advice on if i should get these in sg or aust?
  14. does anyone know where to get tools which car workshops are using? in particular, looking for a T-handle nut driver. similar to the one shown in the link below but i'm looking for full metal ones like those found in car workshops. http://topsun.en.alibaba.com/product/50134...er/showimg.html have tried neighbour hardware shops and homeFIX DIY but they don't sell... wat they have are those plasticky ones with multi-head adaptors which are not strong and long enough
  15. Just bought the JW from Gen2. Intend to use them on Monday. What's missing in the picutre is the claybar, which I'll be getting tomorrow. Clockwise from left: JW Prime + AJ, Menzerna wheel shine, 3M leather cleaner, Menzerna HGAS, Meg's NXT car wash, detailing MF cloth, wash mitt, Turtle wheel scrub, Meg's applicator pad, leather chamois.
  16. I have been thinking of getting trolley jacks and jack stands but I think it is a bad idea or rather been thinking in the wrong direction. Jacks are great for changing wheels. Jack stands on all counts look very unsafe so I thought why not use the car itself since I only change the car's fluids mainly. So I searched and found out about Blitz USA. Nope not the Blitz Japan with all the racing stuff. Blitz USA specializes in jerry cans and other home auto repair aids. Blitz USA site. The things I would say best suit me or rather us would be automotive ramps and automotive chocks. The Blitz Rhino ramp. Then you need to secure the rear wheels to prevent the car from moving even if you got your parking brake on. You need the chocks. Looks like a nice simple solution. Now I am spying on which auto discount store in the US can get it cheaply and ship it here. If I want to really spend, I will get the Blitz oil drain pan. Now we are rocking!
