  1. As in the past what were the excuses used to disqualify people from registering their nomination? 1. Not "put minority race here" enough.

  3. extracted from ST webby..... Bigger sum at age 55 By Cai Haoxiang Interest rates on all CPF accounts will be subject to a minimum rate of 2.5% p.a. -- ST PHOTO: MALCOLM MCLEOD THE new year will see the Central Provident Fund (CPF) requiring those turning 55 to leave a bigger amount in their Medisave accounts. From Jan 1, these members who want to withdraw the amount in excess of the minimum sum requirement must set aside $27,500, up from $22,500, in their Medisave. Balances in their Ordinary or Special Accounts exceeding the minimum sum of $123,000 will be used to top up the Medisave Account. The new Medisave Required Amount is to enable members to have enough savings to meet their old-age health-care needs, the CPF Board said on Wednesday. It also said members will continue to receive at least 4 per cent annual interest on a portion of their savings until the end of next year. These are for funds in the Special and Medisave Accounts (SMA) and the Retirement Account (RA). Ordinary Account savings get the minimum of 2.5 per cent mandated by law, from Jan 1 to March 31 next year. SMA savings are invested in Special Singapore Government Securities (SSGS), which earn an interest rate pegged to the 12-month average yield of 10-year Singapore Government Securities (10YSGS) plus 1 per cent, adjusted quarterly. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_616737.html another "fabulous" old age planning for the needy but retaining more money with gahmen..... how many of us would actually fully utilized more than 80% on this non-withdrawal-able $$......
  4. Nov 17, 2010 ASIAN GAMES IN GUANGZHOU GUANGZHOU - BIKINI-WEARING Asian Games beach volleyball cheer squads are proving too hot for some competitors who claim the scantily-clad dancers make it impossible to concentrate. 'They had an effect on how we played,' Yemen beach volleyballer Adeeb Mahfoudh told the Tianfu Morning News on Wednesday. 'I think they had something to do with our losing the match.' The Yemeni men's team lost their Tuesday clash to an apparently more focused team from Indonesia, the paper said. Organisers of the Guangzhou Asian Games have hired four cheerleader squads, each made up of eight girls in swimsuits, to entertain fans during breaks in the beach volleyball action, said the newspaper. Besides cheering on the already capacity crowds, the girls also perform routines that include traditional Chinese elements including martial arts and fan dancing. 'These girls are very beautiful. With them here, more people will pay attention to beach volleyball,' smiled Mahfoudh. -- AFP http://sports.163.com/10/1111/16/6L7JSFNP00051CAQ_3.html http://bbs.hoopchina.com/simple/1696445.html

  8. Good day, From Malaysia Forum WARNING: Robbery Tactic November 19, 2007 04:47 PM Author: Chips
  9. Got it from an email...... [/size] True or not? Sorry if have posted earlier or before!!!! This happened recently in Malaysia 's Petaling Jaya. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE, YOU MUST GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 3 MINUTES TO READ THIS. I just thought to let know what my doctor told me recently. I don't think she was lying and neither am I, so please pass this on to your friends. Her clinic is in SS2 (Petaling Jaya in Malaysia ) and you know how congested that place is. One morning a few months ago in broad daylight, a girl was getting into her car when a few men approached her with what looked like a torchlight. Quite harmless looking. They pressed the "torchlight" into her back and immediately she went limp and very pale. So she wouldn't be able to fight back, they slashed her thigh with a parang and sped away in her car. There were many people around and they quickly took her to the nearest clinic which was my doctor's clinic. There were two doctors at that time and they managed to stitch up her wound but the girl remained pulse-less and still pale as paper. No pulse, no BP (blood pressure). Just like dead. My doctors were confused as to how one wound on the thigh made the girl almost like dead? They managed to revive her and save her life. After some checking around, the doctors found out what actually happened was that the girl was made unconscious not by a torchlight but actually a high voltage weapon. I forgot how many watts she mentioned. 1000? Anyway, it was high enough to kill a person by electrocution. It seems this weapon is from China. It's not rampant yet in Malaysia, but with this thing, a person can rob, rape, kill, kidnap, and practically do anything to you. My doctor said that if the girl weren't taken to the clinic immediately she would have died because there was no pulse on her. So please just beware of your surroundings, if anybody is lurking around with a torchlight-thingy and approaches you, just scream or run away.

  11. Something definitely to take note off... Especially for those who always go JB or Malaysia For Your Info ..... BEWARE AS TO WHERE YOU PARK YOUR CAR NEXT - IN MALAYSIA! This actually happened to a Man not a woman recently in KL Imagine: You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock the doors, start the engine and shift to Reverse. Then you look into the rear mirror to back out and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window screen that is obstructing your view. So you shift the gear to Park, unlock your door and jump out to remove that silly piece of paper (or whatever it may be) When you reach the back of your car, that is when the surprise begins! The Car-Jacker appears out of nowhere, jumps into your car and takes off!! Your engine is still running, your belongings are all in the car, including whatever you may have bought from you shopping trip. They will mow you down as they take off if you so much as try to stop them. BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED. Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to you rear window LATER, and be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will forward this to your friends and family members. Imagine if your purse is inside the car. They then will have your IC, credit cards, home address and maybe your house keys! Good Luck.
