Volkswagen Owners Voice Grievances At Volkswagen Group Malaysia Headquarters Nearly 50 disgruntled Volkswagen owners gathered at the steps of Volkswagen Group Malaysia’s (VGM) headquarters in Bangsar earlier today to voice their complaints about the poor after sales experience and unreliability of their Volkswagen cars. Executives from the company were present at the lobby to listen to the complaints brought forth by the group. According to the co-organiser of the gathering, Ben Yeo, the group is demanding that VGM would be able to deliver a product that is safe and reliable, as well as improve their after sales service. “We feel cheated about the warranty and safety, a number of Volkswagen owners have had to change the engines and replace the clutch pack in their cars in the span of less than two years,” said Yeo. “Furthermore some of us had our warranty voided by the manufacturer due to minor overruns in the car’s service interval.” Co-organiser Leon Loke claims that his warranty for his Volkswagen Passat CC was voided for exceeding it service interval by a margin of around 1,000km. "A lot of customers including myself would have to book our cars in for service a month in advanced as there are no available slots for me to do so earlier," said Loke. Another owner who identified himself as Mr Low claims that his 2012 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI has been experiencing a multitude of problems ranging from improper replacement parts to unsatisfactory repairs done by his car’s service centre. The group of owners also handed over a list of requests to the Volkswagen management. Their list of requests includes a warranty extension to 10 years for the engine and gearbox, and no voiding of the warranty for mileage overruns under the tolerance of 3,000km. “The reliability issues of the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox are already acknowledged by Volkswagen in China and they have extended their warranty coverage to 10 years. We on the other hand are still left with a 5-year warranty coverage,” explained Yeo. “All we are asking for is a fair treatment from VGM.” The owner demonstration was started and organised on the “VW DSG 7 Defects Community” Facebook group. The group was started by disgruntled Volkswagen owners in May last year, and has so far attracted more than 2,000 followers to date. Yesterday VGM released a statement on steps the company would be taking to improve its after-sales service, whereas its new managing director, Christoph Aringer, is well aware of issues on reliability and after-sales service plaguing Volkswagen owners in Malaysia. According to Aringer, the company are already taking steps to address to improve the company’s after-sales support both in terms of customer care and warranty claims. Volkswagen says issues related to the 7-speed DSG transmission have already been addressed by last year's recall in Malaysia, and assures its customers that all new Volkswagen models are not affected by any transmission reliability issues. The after-sales grievances experienced by Volkswagen customers aren’t exclusive to the German brand. We would also like to point out that fast growing brands such as Ford and Peugeot also experienced similar customer complaints alluding to the lack of after-sales capacity during their period of growth a number of years back. With a fast growing number of new customers, an unprepared after-sales network would be easily overwhelmed by the higher number of customers looking to send their cars in for routine service. Only in the past few years did Ford and Peugeot managed to turn their situation around after expanding their service network and hiring better trained after-sales personnel to meet the needs of their new customers. The question of whether VGM would be able to finally address its customer complaints would depend on the company’s actions and its relationship with its network of dealers. Those steps would take time to bear fruit, but it is crucial steps of the utmost priority nevertheless. http://www.livelifedrive.com/malaysia/news/view/92082/volkswagen-owners-voice-grievances-at-volkswagen-group-malaysia-headquarters

quite touching to see different races of our fellow Singaporeans standing together to protect our culture and traditions, just like the last time when we defended the cooking of curry and Malay weddings at void decks proud of our own Singapore culture (as well as religious and racial tolerance) in any case, the article is from Real Singapore, so take it with a pinch of salt... the website may be trying to stir something, but it's good to see Singaporeans stand together in times like this

http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews...010-304281.html Woman insists on marrying terminally ill Air Force technician SINGAPORE - Doctors told him he had only five years left to live, but his girlfriend insisted on marrying him anyway. And on Oct 8, the 30-year-old Republic of Singapore Air Force senior technician and Staff Sergeant finally gave up the fight against brain cancer after battling it for three years. Mr Ho Jian Heng was found to have Ependymoma, a rare type of brain tumour in 2008. If malignant, tumour cells can invade and destroy brain tissue. It can also spread to other parts of the brain. He and his then-girlfriend, Toh Yen Ling, then planned to marry two months later. 31-year-old Ms Toh, now Mr Ho's wife, told Lianhe Wanbao that her husband initially wanted to call off their wedding, fearing that she would find it hard to get a husband after he passed away. He also faced his condition fearlessly. "He never gave up and went for all the treatments no matter how difficult they were. He was very brave," she said. Ms Zhuo also said that her husband could not bear to leave her even when he was in the latter stages of cancer. "The last thing he said to me was that he hoped for me to take care of myself and that he regretted not being able to accompany me to live out our lives together." The couple got engaged on March 6, 2006 and was deeply in love. They stayed at Block 434, Ang Mo Kio Street 43. "We knew each other when we were studying. After we got married, he took good care of me and my family." "It's rare to find someone like him." According to Lianhe Wanbao, Ms Zhuo lost weight after not eating and sleeping well while caring for her husband when he was ill. The New Paper reported that the couple first met in 2002 when they were both studying in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, where they were studying telecommunications and engineering. Both of them joined the RSAF after graduating. Ms Toh left service in 2008. Booked a niche space beside husband Ms Zhuo also told the Chinese daily that her husband often reminded her on the things to handle after he knew of his condition. However, she refused to listen because she believed he had a chance of surviving. When she was handling his funeral matters, she decided to book a niche beside his urn so that they will be together forever. The niches happened to be numbered 30 and 31, his age when he died and her current age respectively. Ms Zhuo also said her dog seemed to sense that her husband had passed away and looked sad

Can HDB n LTA work together for Punggol/Sengkang
Sunnycrowe posted a topic in General Car Discussion
Wow another BTO project launched in Punggol... over the past years n months we have seen countless new residential projects (HDBs, ECs, Condos) launched in Punggol n sengkang..... and there r stil plenty of vacant land in these two areas siting down there, most probably they will turn into residential sites soon........ Traffic situation in Punggol n Sengkang right now is in a near-critical mess..... whether using CTE or KPE, or by upper serangoon, its already very jam during morning peak hrs as pple are going to the city area for work... So can HDB n LTA work together first and solve the current and anticipated future traffic woes, before selling the vacant lands to private developers or HDB itself to build more flats? and in turn create more pple and more cars..... They realy mus start building more roads, or do road widening at KPE like CTE.... dun just solve problem by increasing ERP...... even by increasing ERP oso wont solve the traffic problem.... otherwise, stop building flats in these areas, build more facilities instead...... my fren who live in punngol said he waited for 10 years b4 they finally build a community centre there..... i live in sengkang n is worried for the current jam at KPE (even b4 entering the tunnel)........ the worst is to come in years ahead as more flats are developed. -
To all the knowledgeable bro and sis, My car's shocks are starting to leak, and I need to start considering replacing them. I was thinking of replacing the springs at the same time with a set that is slightly lower and maybe a tad harder to give the car better handling. This is a Wish, so it doesn't need anything fantastic, just a small improvement would be enough - I would also need to sneak it past the FC who would veto any drastic performance mods. Was just tinking that while got the car in pieces for shocks, may as well do springs as well and save on labour... Thoughts?

Hi, encountered the above problem with my Citroen Berlingo yesterday. The steering became very very stiff, to the point that it isn't even possible to drive to the workshop (had to tow) and the aircon also stopped working at the same time. What problem could I be looking at? Any belt system that hooks up the two?

Brother and Sister, How is everybody? Hope you and your family are all well. Myself (NKPS) and brother Hiphiphoray are organising another visit to the Blood Centre at Health Science Authority Building beside SGH (Opposite Outram MRT Station) on 20 June 2008 (Friday) at lunch time 12pm to 1.30pm. Interested ? Please reply with your nick and PM either me or brother Hiphiphoray your contact number. FYI, we will organise such regular visits every 12 weeks or so. So if you are keen to donate blood but never seem to be able to remember when you are eligible for your next donation, do join us and "regularise" your future visits. This is, of course, entirely voluntary. But I do sincerely hope that you will consider giving someone this priceless gift. Do you know ? : Giving blood is entirely safe. It is impossible to catch any disease by donating blood as the equipment used is entirely disposable ie., it is used only once and discarded. Approximately 65% of the population in Singapore can donate blood. However only 1% of the population are donors. One full unit of blood can be split into components to help save up to four different lives Blood cannot be manufactured and it has to come from a human being. A typical blood donor should: • be 16 to 60 years old (parental / guardian consent is needed for 16 & 17 year old donors). • weigh at least 45 kg. • be generally healthy A doctor will run a few tests to ascertain your eligibility to donate. If this is your first time donating blood and you are not sure about the procedure, just let me know and I am happy to share my experience with you. If you know anyone else who may like to join and whom I have not inivited here, do lend a hand to help forward this mail to him/her. Hope to see you there. IMPORTANT : HAVE YOUR LUNCH FIRST before heading down. And BRING YOUR Identity Card along.
