Customer service recovery doesn't look good. I still remember the old days when I love to visit the old Rex theatre where I can choose from 3 curry puff stalls (OCK was one of them). http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporesc...-234710682.html

Well, It took me a week to decide that I should share this with other parents here. It is no big deal, but I must say I am proud of him, and I want to remind other parents to listen and pay attention to your child. You will be surprise...LOL My boy came to on Wed a week ago in the evening after school. Our conversation was a simple one on the subject. Boy : " Daddy, I need a shelf to keep my rubix's cubes and kentama. This is what I need." ( and he went on to explain to me what he wanted) Me: " OK, can you draw it out and explain to me again?" Boy : " Ok, do you want a 2D or 3D drawing?" Me : " Give me both." ( But seriously, in my mind I was like WTF, how are you going to do a 3D drawing. He is only 11 years old, with no technical background, I don't even know if I can read and understand his drawing when it is done...LOL) He left to his room, came back to me in 15 min, and this is what he drew. Engineers please don't laugh at him, he is a P5, 11 years old boy. We then went into his room and had a discussion on where he wanted it install. Weekend came, father and son went on a material purchase trip after breakfast, grab everything we need, came back and started on the job. It was a simple 10 min job for me, but to see him eagerly involved running around taking tools and throwing away rubbish was fun. It was more than father and son bonding, it was more like "2 men working on a project". He was not only happy, he was proud of the work. A simple job, but it was his idea, his creative, and it became reality. With this, I am sure he will come to his dad with more projects and ideas, and I look forward to having such "2 men working on a project" kind of weekends...LOL Guys, so if your child come running to you with an idea to do up his/her room, or asking you to build something with him/her, don't brush them away, listen to them. It may sound simple and not worth the while for us to do it, but it is something great to the child, something he/she can be proud of. A way to build his/her confident, encourage creativity, stronger the bond, and a great way to spend that weekend away from hp and Pc...LOL You may be surprise what else their little brain can come out with. Here is the finished product...LOL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrO3TfJc9Qw Monday blues are almost over, so.. Shall we do it? For Singapore... Instead of 6.9M of FT/Ws, isn't it better to have 6.9M of Singaporeans? Or at least, more than 75% Singaporeans so we don't feel out of place in our own birth place?

Came across many interesting weddings on Youtube. In SG, most wedding dinners are the same. Guest arrive, serve dinner, maybe invite a singer or play some music, speech from bride & groom, phototaking, goodbye. Would you surprise your bride to be this way? (I can't embed videos idk why so appreciate if someone could help) Basically a groom and his bros dancing Justin Bieber's Baby. Nobody likes this song but after watching this video so many times, whoever marries this man is so lucky. You could see his effort, his sincerity and as a girl, I am sold & tremendously touched! Such a fun wedding night! Other funny/interesting ones. Watch from 4:20 onwards. The bride is hot! Some people might say it's crazy and all but as long as the couple enjoys it then why not? If you can find a hubby or wifey to be as spontaneous as yourself, then most probably you have found your bestfriend, soulmate & lover for life, or at least while the moment last. Just wanted to share happy videos & hopefully weddings in SG can be as lively.

DUH! Like that also report!!! Summore pengyu Edwardthy also convert to normal plate...add to congestion http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...206639/1/.html#http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...206639/1/.html#inShare</span>http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...206639/1/.html#1 SINGAPORE: Demand for off-peak cars (OPC) have fallen on the back of surging Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices for cars. Figures from the Land Transport Authority show that from January till April this year, there were only 211 applications for such cars. In 2010, there were 1,688 applications. And in the first five months of this year, 1,472 motorists opted to switch their off-peak registered vehicle to a normal one. Off-peak cars can only be driven during certain periods on the roads. Dealers which MediaCorp spoke to said the S$17,000 rebate when motorists buy off-peak cars isn't enough of an enticement. The restricted hours for the OPC are as follow: 7.00 am to 7.00 pm (Mondays to Fridays); 7.00 am to 3.00 pm (Saturdays and eve of New Year, Lunar New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali and Christmas.)

I DO NOT THINK SO....THEY ARE JUST BEING COMPLACENT TILL WE OPEN CARDs How many of you actually believe in what she said???? your comments pls 'It is a surprise for us that the resentment is so deep' Minister Lim Hwee Hua says PAP needs to seriously look at transforming itself by Teo Xuanwei 04:46 AM May 12, 2011 SINGAPORE - She said that she had been caught by surprise. Surprise at how deep the resentment and unhappiness against the People's Action Party (PAP) ran among residents in Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC). Speaking to the media yesterday for the first time since the General Election, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Finance and Transport Lim Hwee Hua said that she always knew "it was a close fight" they had on their hands against the Workers' Party team lead by its secretary-general Low Thia Khiang and Singapore's first female full minister said she was "disappointed at the outcome". "We had spent the last five years working hard, trying to understand - in the areas where there are gaps - what the problems were, what the deficiencies were, and to address those," she recalled. "We have also, of course, been trying to engage the residents on some of the current issues." "It is a surprise for us that the resentment is so deep and the unhappiness is so deep." In fact, it was only during the campaign, that "we began to fully appreciate the extent of the unhappiness and resentment towards the Government, hence the pledge by the PAP team led by Mr George Yeo for us to have a strong role in the transformation of the PAP itself." She described her team's pledge for transformation within the PAP as something that the ruling party "really needs to sit up to and to seriously look at". Saying that she believes in the views articulated by Minister George Yeo, Mrs Lim noted that she would be "very happy to participate in the transformation of the PAP". It is not just about listening, she said. The PAP Government has to go one step further and take into account Singaporeans' views if it is to quell the rising tide of resentment against it. "I think people still feel that they are not being listened to, and that they are not being listened to sufficiently; that the party continues to make policies using its own intellect and reasoning ... and occasionally seems to be arrogant and not wanting to listen even when views are offered. So it's a varying degree of unhappiness," said Mrs Lim. She added that identifying the root cause of unhappiness should be the "origin of transformation". "Some of (the unhappiness), I suspect, would be unwitting ... some of it could be that it's difficult policies that perhaps should have been explained in different ways or explained better." Asked if a transformed PAP, and not multi-party governance, is what voters want, Mrs Lim said the test is "what the transformed PAP is or what form it takes, and whether it would effectively reach out to people". She added: "The test would be whether after the transformation, people feel that the PAP has tried really hard, and is now better able to reach out to more people." NO PLANS TO CONTEST NEXT GE A day after Foreign Minister George Yeo announced his exit from politics, Mrs Lim, 52, who entered politics 15 years ago announced that she too has no plans to contest the next General Election, due by 2016, believing that it would be better for a younger person to lead the challenge to recapture Aljunied GRC by then. She would, however, remain as adviser to the Serangoon grassroots organisations "for as long as it's helpful" while she takes the next few months off to mull over her plans. A return to the financial or corporate sector was a possibility, added Mrs Lim, whose last job before entering Cabiney was as Temasek Holdings' managing director of strategic relations. Asked if she felt that her work as a minister might have been overlooked by voters in Aljunied GRC, Mrs Lim noted: "The work that I've done as a minister tended to be in areas which are very non-local, they are more international... It's not something that honestly I would expect my residents to give me compliments for." "Also, I've been a minister for a relatively short period of time, so I see that in perspective." Mrs Lim conceded too that her political career had ended more abruptly than she had anticipated. "At any GE, it's always been something I think about - whether I should continue for another five years ... I would have been happy to do another five but given that the voters have decided otherwise, I respect that and I'm happy to move on." NATIONAL ISSUES POSSIBLY A FACTOR So did the Serangoon division garner the lowest percentage of votes for the PAP across the constituency, as reported by some newspapers citing unnamed sources? Noting that candidates were under an oath of secrecy, she told reporters: "My only advice is to tell you not to continue to publish things that you can't verify because they could be wrong." However, Mrs Lim did go on to say that Serangoon "does have a different profile from the rest of the divisions", with a higher percentage of private estate residents. "It can, of course, be argued that for such residents, national issues take on a greater priority than the local issues because generally unlike HDB residents, they do not depend too much on the centralized management, town council management. They are usually more independent, more able to look after themselves," she said. "And there could be a difference in the way that they have approached the whole issue of giving their mandate." Asked if she thought the uproar among Serangoon Gardens residents over the foreign worker dormitory issue in 2008 may have been a factor in dragging down her votes, Mrs Lim said: "It obviously has a local impact in that people were unhappy about a dorm just springing up in their backyard. But the national impact is one of perhaps the admission of foreigners into the country - what the pace is, whether the Government has consulted sufficiently - so those are the common threads running through not just the dorm issue but across many other issues as well." She also brushed aside suggestions that younger voters were responsible for the swing. "I really think it would be barking up the wrong tree if we were to just say that the entire unhappiness resides within the young." Although the group may have "a greater preference" for a strong Opposition presence in Parliament, Mrs Lim said "one should be quite careful to understand why it is across the board ... and that there could be other issues than just having the Opposition voice that people are concerned about". In her 15 years as an MP, she said "the wish for greater engagement has risen sharply over the last many years". "This is positive because I think people are now taking ownership of the larger environment but it also makes it more complicated and challenging because you need to now consult more people, you need to now get a greater consensus," she said.

This was my second visit to Tai Pei. The first was via a tour group. This time, I visited Tai Pei because there was a special exhibition in the National Palace Museum. A chinese called peng who went to Japan to play snooker and eventually stayed there and adopted a Japanese name, he at one time was the 13th richest man in Japan He left a lot of Buddhist artifacts to the Museum those who collect these buddhist artifacts should try and visit the museum as those I visited in Metropolitian (NY) and Minnesota are so so only. Even the curator of the museum, in not so many words, tell us so. The weather is beautiful except for a few showers. But the point of this posting is: Despite what we view on the TV about the violence in Taiwan politics, I was very very surprise by the gentleness and politeness of the public. At their MRT, everybody queue up in line, either they are in no hurry, they just move orderly I took the coach (airport) and was surprise by the taiwan passengers who thank the driver when they depart despite, the recession. taiwan certainly gave me a very good impression.

Watch CNA just now, our Lemon Lim says that oil price does not link with the fare hike, so there is no justification for the fare to come down amid oil price deflation. I remembered the idiotic bus companies cited the oil price increase as the reason for the fare hike.... Worse Mr Lemon Lim says the bus companies need 500-600million profit per yr till 2010 as reserves to replace their buses...Anyway those buses they bring in also cannot make it, buy china bus lah since their Great leader like to carry china balls
