  1. SINGAPORE : "Project SuperStar" alum Kelly Poon is reportedly set to give up her music career to return to being an air stewardess. Poon was flying with national carrier Singapore Airlines when she joined the first season of singing competition "Project SuperStar" in 2005. She finished second place behind Kelvin Tan. According to Taiwanese media reports, life has been difficult for the Singaporean singer who is currently based in Taiwan. Throughout her three years there, she has been living a life of frugality and despite this, the 26-year-old hardly has any savings to call her own. As a result, she has decided to pack her bags and return to being a Singapore girl. Poon who reportedly earned a monthly allowance of 80,000 Taiwan dollars (around S$4,000) at the start of her singing career, has had to bite the bullet and survive on a monthly expenditure of just 10,000 Taiwan dollars (around S$500). Hence, the singer has decided to work out an agreement with her agent to allow her to return to Singapore early next year. However, Poon has expressed that she would still love to sing if given the opportunity. - CNA/il Quite shock to hear this. I think only few local singers like Chen Jie Yi, Ah du, stefanie sun can make it oversea.
  2. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-transfers-dutch-teen-5502856 Man Utd is tracking this wonderkid dubbed as the next Robben interesting.... reminds me of the past wonderkids who were dubbed the next so and so.... some lived up to the expectation, but many failed spectacularly the most successful is of cos: Messi - next Maradona (except that he hasn't win the World Cup for Argentina yet) others: Robinho - next Pele (full of fanciful tricks, won many trophies but still failed imo) Bruno Cheyrou - next Zidane (who remembers this chap? Liverpool bought him but he couldn't really make it) Lassana Diarra - next Makelele (looks like Makelele but played nothing like the legendary DM) Romelu Lukaku - next Drogba (still got many years to prove himself... after all Drogba was a late bloomer) Paul Pogba - next Vieira (may even exceed the legend himself in another few years) Harry Kane - next Sheringham (looks like a good deal, hope he can make it!) who else you can think of?

  5. just watched the campus superstar...witnessed how the 3rd judge harshly criticise the 3rd contestant...words like 'should thank the gods that you are still around in this competition'....'don't have worth will not get respect'...etc...etc...really feel sorry for the poor fellow...the judge criticism is too much...getting too personal...and in national tv somemore...this is harsh on the contestant self-esteem...the contestant is in the competition due to public votes...judges should not be personal...go ahead and criticise the singing but not personal attacks...just feels pissed when contestant get bullied...
