Juz serviced my old car, '89 Civic GL. Mechanic told me my engine sump drain plug internal screw thread no good already, thus always have oil drips. I told him to fix it but he said its a big job. Have to get new oil sump, then remove old sump and fix it back. Sounds easy??? There are a few item...

Planning to go for servicing within this mth thus thinking if replace the OE nut to a magnetic 1 will be useful. Any one had that in your ride? Wonder if it is really useful in sucking metal debris from EO.

issit possible to 'upgrade' our car's oil sump to accomodate 1 quart more of oil? most cars run a 3.78litre capacity oil sump, would it be possible, and cost effective to change the pan to a larger capcacity one (ie 4.7litres) more oil means cleaner engines... practical mod?
