Saw a convoy of M'sian plate cars along BKE towards PIE this morning. The convoy leader is a Mercs S400 with plate JNW1. The 2nd and 3rd car in the convoy are Roll Royce with no number plates. The 4th and 5th car are M'sia civilian cars with the sticker bearing words "Polis" on its rear bumper. Behind the convoy is an unmarked WRX Singapore plate, likely the Singapore Police? The best part is when the convoy approached BKE speed trap near Bukit Panjang exit, they slowed down. I thought they can just choing through it? haha. June 19, 2008 Johor Sultan vows to find ways to reclaim Pedra Branca JOHOR BARU - SULTAN of Johor Sultan Iskandar Ismail has vowed to find ways to reclaim Pedra Branca. Sultan Iskandar said he wanted to remind all that he had not forgotten his island and that it was rightfully under the state's sovereignty and not Singapore. 'Sampai bila masa, saya cari hatta ikhtiar balik benda itu ke Johor (It doesn't matter how long it takes, but I will find ways until the island is returned to Johor),' he said in the closing of his speech before opening the Johor state assembly here on Thursday. The ruler said he was confident that the state would continue to prosper economically thus bringing benefits to the people and reminded the people to reject racial or religious extremism. The Sultan's words caught everyone off-guard. Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said the state government 'clearly heard' what the Sultan said. 'We heard and listened loud and what he has declared,' he said, without elaborating further. On May 23, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Singapore had sovereignty over the disputed Pedra Branca, while Malaysia owned Middle Rocks. On the other disputed territory of South Ledge, the ICJ ruled that it belonged to the country in whose territorial waters the rocky outcrop is located. The ICJ decision brought to a close the 28-year-old territorial dispute between both countries, and was immediately described as a 'win-win' outcome by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, who led the Malaysian side at The Hague where the court is located. -- THE STAR/ANN Good! Got fighting spirit.

From: STOMP http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...sultan_and.html A nude man was spotted walking against the flow of traffic along Jalan Sultan before finally lying down on the road. Passers-by tried to aid him by diverting traffic and covering him with a white sheet. STOMPers Francis, Shaik and Kai all sent in videos and comments about the man's behaviour in public. Francis says passers-by tried to render assistance to the man. He wrote: "A naked man entered a lift on the 15th floor of Keypoint Building at around 6.30pm, then walked on the main road against the flow of traffic outside the textile centre. "All cars tried to avoid the naked man and eventually he laid himself down on the road. "Kind souls were trying their best to divert heavy oncoming traffic away from him and at the same time advise the man to stand up and move away from the danger. "The naked man refused to move and remained motionless lying on the floor until three police cars and one ambulance came to the rescue. " Shaik was at the scene of the incident. He commented: "I captured a video of a naked man running along Jalan Sultan. "I work at the area and we were hanging out at the area. "Suddenly my boss shouted 'naked man!', and we all turned to look at him. "He was running against the flow of traffic and trying to stop motorists there. "The police arrived after 10-15 minutes but they had difficulty getting him off the road. "He was eventually taken away by an ambulance that arrived later. " STOMPer Kai also sent in footage of the incident. He wrote: "I would like to report a video about a naked man seen on Jalan Sultan today, June 28." What has driven these people goes crazy nowadays. It seems that life in Singapore is getting more and more stressful that make these people doing unthinkable acts in public.

Are the Farrari mechanics highly paid, comparing to normal workshop like Mercedes/BMW?? http://www.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/Story...712-226568.html Sultan's exotic sports car allegedly damaged at Hong Seh By Arul John THE almost brand-new car had a leaking fuel tank. As it was under warranty, the owner sent it for repairs at the authorised workshop. But while there, it was allegedly further damaged. And this has upset the owner, who happens to be Sultan Ibrahim Ismail of Johor. The car, too, is no ordinary car but a custom-built white Spyker C8 Spyder convertible, estimated to be worth US$300,000 ($415,000), excluding taxes and other costs. The model is rare in this region. The New Paper on Sunday understands that the sultan's car - which is not even three months old - is the only one of its kind in Singapore and Malaysia. Sultan Ibrahim, who is in his 50s, bought the car from a dealer in Beirut, Lebanon, in May or June. The Spyker C8 Spyder convertible has an all-aluminium AudiV8 engine and a power output of 400 Bhp. The hand-built car comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and an anti-lock braking system. Its top speed is 300kmh and it can go from 0 to 100kmhin just 4.5 seconds. Car enthusiast The New Paper on Sunday understands that the sultan is a car enthusiast who owns more than 200 luxury cars. Sources said that Sultan Ibrahim sent the Spyder to Hong Seh Motors, the only agency in the region authorised to repair Spyker cars, on June 24 to fix the leaking fuel tank. On Thursday, the sultan's friend in Lebanon called and told him that he learnt that the car had been damaged at the workshop. Concerned, the sultan sent a representative to Hong Seh on Friday to find out what had happened. The New Paper on Sunday understands that the car had been placed on a car lift and was damaged when it rolled off onto the ground. It is not known when the car was damaged. The sultan's representative madea police report on Friday. In the report, the representative said the car's side skirts and rear right side were dented. The sultan has since appointed law firm Allen & Gledhill to take legal action against Hong Seh for the alleged damage to the car. The royal palace in Johor is now considering its options. The repair costs and the cost of any civil claim, if filed, are unknown. The car is still on Hong Seh's premises. It is understood that Hong Seh has been told not to touch the car till further instructions from the owner. The New Paper on Sunday called Allen & Gledhill but it declined to comment. Mr Edward Tan, Hong Seh's executive director, also declined to comment on the incident.

Tuesday May 27, 2008 Consultant told to scrap frills in royal garden project Story and photos by EDWARD RAJENDRA SELANGOR Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has ordered the Klang Royal Garden landscape consultant Tajul Landart to scrap two arches, a minaret, watch tower, souvenir kiosk and decorative lightings costing RM7.5mil, saying it was a waste of public funds. Sultan Sharafuddin who is known for his no-nonsense attitude, ticked off the consultant for proposing the lavish frills that pushed the 6.3ha public garden project to an exorbitant RM11mil. Now it cost just RM3.5 mill after the unnecessary frills were erased from the plan. The Sultan had advised the consultants, National Landscape Department and Klang Municipal Council's Garden and Recreation Department director Muhammad Hijaz Sanusi to create a garden with a soul. Hijaz said the Sultan devotes his time to givevaluable inputs so that the people can enjoy an urban oasis within the hustle and bustle of the township. The Klang Royal Garden, scheduled to be open to the public in October this year, is sandwiched between Jalan Tengku Kelana, Jalan Istana Baru and Jalan Istana. Part of it can be seen opposite the Our Lady of Lourdes Church where a fountain built a few years ago would be retained as part of the landscape together with the 80-year-old rainforest trees.
