I didn't see any thread on this, but think we should share what not to buy, based on bad experience. To start off, do not buy this Blue coloured Baygon. It leaks. It's made in China. One fine day, all of a sudden after a couple of weeks, I smell insecticide. I didn't sprayed any, but it just whiff around. Later, I realized it came from this Baygon. I didn't believe it at first, but found the half-can, now completely emptied. The seal is bad. It leaked by itself some time. Happened now to 2 bottles. Don't waste your money. https://www.amazon.sg/gp/product/B072LF1G6G/

My laptop has a mini display port and a USB port. My TV has three HDMI ports all in use and a few USB 2 and a USB 3 port. Any way I can watch stuff from my laptop on my Smart TV? My missus wants to watch a Chinese TV series - The story of Yanxi Palace - which she can get on the laptop but would be better watched on the Smart TV.

This is the Emotionally Intelligent Way To Handle Stage Fright 4 Minute Read Rather than beating yourself up about being nervous, you need to acknowledge, and even embrace, your jitters. Here’s how:- STEP 1: RECOGNIZE YOUR EMOTIONAL “SET POINT”All of us have what I like to think of as an emotional “set point,” a basic level of stress that we can manage even if it makes us uncomfortable. You might feel excited or stimulated by that level of pressure, but it doesn’t make you so anxious that your performance tanks. This level of stress differs for everybody, but once it’s crossed, crippling anxiety sets in. Maybe talking to your boss or your peers feels a little stressful, but you can still get your message across smoothly. But put you in front of a really daunting audience–your boss’s, your biggest client, or your board of directors, and your the temperature heats up. You zoom past your emotional set point, and all hope is lost. By recognizing where your own emotional set point falls, though, you can know what to expect when you go beyond it. For example, you’re not surprised when you step into a sauna or a steam room, because you were already expecting intense heat before you opened the door. Similarly, instead of being overwhelmed by your feelings, you need to recognize that you’re just temporarily beyond your emotional set point. This is a far better approach than trying to avoid going past it in the first place (that’s hopeless). Your heart rate is your barometer, so simply monitor it mentally, much as you would while running intervals on a treadmill. If your heart rate is high during your next big presentation, notice that, then take a deep breath. Slow down your exhales, and count to four in your head. This will help you get back to your emotional set point. You may still feel a little uncomfortable, but it won’t derail your talk. STEP 2: COMPARTMENTALIZE (REALLY, IT’S OKAY)You may have had a bad speaking experience at some point of your life. For example, one of my clients actually fainted in front of 300 leaders at her company. That’s an extreme example–but you might have your own triggers that spike your anxiety levels through the roof. To get beyond this, try to imagine that you’re putting images of these memories away into mental boxes, not to be touched or opened for a period of time. Worried that repressing bad memories doesn’t exactly sound like the most emotionally intelligent strategy? It is! You aren’t feeling your feelings for good–you’re noting that they’re there, then setting them aside just for the time being. Think of it as strategic compartmentalization. Then, concentrate on what you’re doing instead of what you’re feeling. Think about your breathing, your movement, and most importantly, your ideas. You can even try assigning a color to each of your ideas to help you focus–green for creative, red for emotional, and so on. By putting bad feelings away for the moment, you’re putting yourself in control of the situation so you can be present when you need to be. STEP 3: FOCUS ON THE NEXT IDEA, NOT THE NEXT WORDSpeaking is a fast-action sport. You need to keep talking at 150–200 words per minute. Imagine driving at 150–200 miles per hour. I remember test-driving a Lotus Simulator years ago at the Montreal World’s Fair, and the only way I kept from crashing was by looking further ahead down the road than I was used to. It’s kind of the same thing while speaking, especially when anxiety threatens to kick your emotions into overdrive. The best way to stay in control is to look further ahead than you’re used to in an ordinary conversation, and the way to do that is to focus on your ideas, not your words. The more you focus on your words, the more likely you’ll end up crashing into higher and higher levels of anxiety. By focusing on your ideas, you allow your thoughts to flow, one into the next. Remember: There is no right or wrong way to speak, no single turn of phrase that will save or ruin your message. It’s your ideas that matter most. By the same token, there’s no right or wrong way to feel. It’s how you handle your emotions that makes the difference. source: https://www.fastcompany.com/40501340/this-is-the-emotionally-intelligent-way-to-handle-stage-fright?utm_source=postup&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Leadership%20Daily&position=3&partner=newsletter&campaign_date=12042017 How To Write Emails That People Want To Respond To Only two simple rules:-Don’t be a time suck. It’s important to remember that busy people are, well, busy. So, if your message looks like it will take a lot of effort and elbow grease to respond to, it’s probably going to be left for later (and then likely forgotten for eternity). Instead of typing something like: I’d love to pick your brain and find out more about pursuing a career in engineering. Can we schedule a time to chat? You would write: I’m working on finding out more about the career field and I’d love to hear from you: What’s the one key skill you think someone needs in order to be successful in engineering? Put simply, you need to start with something straightforward and easy. Once you have a response, you can continue building on that momentum. Rest assured, it doesn’t need to happen all at once. Was washing car this morning at hdb mscp. Had placed a plastic bag containing 2 sponges, one water blade, a bottle of polish and a bottle of sealant against a wall next to the back of my car, as will be using them later. After spending less than 30mins washing the car, I went to take the water blade and realised that the whole plastic bag was gone. Total loss about $50. Guess it's partly my mistake to place the items where I can't see them. Still, quite any unpleasant experience. Just a reminder to all here to take care of your belongings when washing your car, you never know who might be eyeing your stuff and swipe it when there is an opportunity.

hello, this may sound silly. i own a singtel miotv. i want to record some TV programs but learn that the miotv dvr could only serve as a storage but when i asked the singtel technician, he said that it is not possible to say download the programs to a DVD or CD or a thumbdrive. but could some tech savvy person kindly advise me how to record and store recorded programs on a DVD or CD? If I buy another DVR device, would this solve the problem? thanks in advance.

I wanted to sell a 1 day rental of a porsche as it was given by maybank i could not find the correct category thus i chose to advert as non-car related.. i also did not bypass the necessary requirements by starting a thread on this.. and instead patiently waited for the 6hrs work hours timeline now Da_editor replied me that they term it as i am selling it as commercial purpose and ask me to buy an advertisement instead how the hell can it be commerical when i have stated clearly that it is only for 1 day and collection is transeurokars.... noticed my advert was deleted as stated in my watchlist even without waiting for my confirmation if it is indeed for commerical purpose Watchlist

My fren was late for his basket ball game.... he ran all the way to the HDB estate basket ball court, tried to dash thru the opening in the fence which surrounds the court..... his is tall, while he half-ran-half-jumped thru the opening/gate, his forehead hit the metal bar across the top of the gate....!!! OMG, he felt something wet up there, used his hand to touch..... all blood... it flowed down his forehead and soon covered his eyes...... by the time he took out his smart phone and tried to call for help, the touch screen was 80% covered with his blood.... he tried frantically to touch-dia for help, but due to the presence of blood, the phone failed to respond... he panic and felt the pains getting strong.... looked around and saw a mother with two kids nearby.... so he ran to her and asked her to call the ambulance with her phone while wondering why she didnt come to his help and instead he had to run to her?? she asked "call what number?"" (he's ok and had few stitches and went home the next day from hospital) 'moral' of the story: 1. maybe have a button phone and not one with touch-screen 2. always tell the 'helper' the ambulance number coz she/he may not know 3. dont run too fast thru gate of basket ball court To HDB: please wrap overhead metal bar with rubber covers

If you are driving a new car, probably you wont even think of it.... my old ride's gear knob looks truly worn and down...... am how thinking having a new, if possible, wacky knob.... replace the old one with a 8-ball (preferably stolen from a snooker joint), or a teflon short handle (custom-make, like a striaght but tapered umbrella handle).... or a piece of pine wood shape like a prikkkk?? ........ the choice is limitless Has any bro done a diy gear knob?? what's the design? ........ golf ball, jackpot machine handle, smoking pipe (tobacco variant), or just wrap it with layers of coloured condomes?? ........
