Hi all, I have a good laugh yesterday (Saturday) at Tesco TC! . My rear passenger seat glass was smashed in the late afternoon at the open car park near one of the entrance to Tesco. So are two other cars near me. My alarm was activated but by the time I reached my car, the glass was smashe. Nothing was stolen, GPS, Portable DVD player and things that are removable still incontact except a bag containing water bottles. Called up a friend in JB, immediately bring me to this shop: DR. CERMIN SDN. BHD. Lot 1084, Batu 9 1/2, Jalan Skudai, 81300, Johor. Tel: 07-5546257 H/p: 016-7661990 They're a specialist in all type of car windscreen and also ISO certified. Reached there at around 7:45pm and the job was done swee swee in an hour. The foreman was an ex-SIA Airplane Mechanic. Paid around RM300. So, in case you need to get your windscreen replaced quickly in JB during a weekend, give them a call. By the way, must say 1st that I have nothing to do with the shop. The foreman told me there is an obvious increase in such theft case lately, Thanks to the economic downturn. He also told me one of the shopping centre was reported to have 15 cars' windscreens smashed at one go recently. From this experience, I only have myself to be blamed for exposing my portable items. Must be getting complacent . Anyway, no more open car park for me in JB shopping centre liao. Will still go Tesco but look for a better parking lot. Good luck to all . Happy JB shopping . Regards,

Was a bad day for me on Labor Day. Went in to JB for late night supper while watching Man City Vs Man Utd . Parked my car in front of a POLICE POST at Taman Sri Tebrau, (59 Abalone Noodles, Ah Piaw Wanton Noodles). I'd been a regular there for 3 years plus and nothing has happened to me before. After Man Utd lost the match, I went back to my car, only to find it window smashed. Nothing valuable is missing except my passport. I went to report the case in the police station in Taman Pelangi, then proceed to my regular car wash place to clean up the mess and contact the General Consulate of Singapore in JB. The General Consulate of Singapore in JB is really efficient. They help to facilitate me to come back to Singapore in under 3 hours. Very amazed with the efficiency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nicholas Lee - Consul and another Malay guy who is really helpful!) Good lesson learnt especially when I am going to Eastern Europe for exchange in August.

I have never come across any report of this happening across the causeway, anyway, for safety and information sake.....some old stuff which I dug out 請注意... Please take notice of this. 如果晚上你在駕駛時受到雞蛋攻擊千萬不要起動噴水功能和開動 水掃~ If you are driving at night and are attacked with eggs, do not operate the wiper and spray any water. 因為雞蛋參水後將呈現白色阻擋視線高達92.5巴仙~ Because eggs mixed with water become milky and block your vision up to 92.5% 你將被迫停在路邊而成為劫匪的囊中物~ Then you are forced to stop at the road side and become a victim of robbers 這是馬來西亞柔佛巴魯匪徒所採用的最新技倆~ This is a new technique used by robbers in Johor Bahru. 防不勝防~請轉告你身邊的親朋戚友~ Please inform your friends and relatives. 請小心謹慎看待此事~ Please take this seriously.

Really suay... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...hill_plaza.html Beware when you park at Cairnhill Plaza: Thieves may smash your car windows Windows were smashed and valuables taken from two cars parked at Cairnhill Plaza last Saturday (Jul 2) afternoon. One of the cars belonged to STOMPer Kitty's friend. According to the STOMPer, there were no CCTV cameras installed in the carpark. The STOMPer described the incident: "My friend's car and another car's windows were smashed when she parked at Cairnhill Plaza yesterday late afternoon. "Nothing can be done as CCTV cameras were not installed in that multi-storey carpark. "Valuables were taken from her car. "She can only report this case to the police. "No wonder the nearby carparks are always full. "Car owners should find a good, secure place with good and responsible management to park their cars."

Malaysian road bullies smashed S'pore car in JB -- because driver didn't give way STOMPer angry's car was badly smashed by a group of men in Johor Bahru at about 3am last Sunday (Apr 17), all because he failed to give way to a Malaysia-registered car. Said the STOMPer: "I went to JB for drinks, petrol, car wash and food. This happened at Stulang Laut (the ZON), which is popular among Singaporean drivers for its seafood. "The attack is believed to have started from a misunderstanding due to my failure to give way to a red Malaysian car that emerged from a small lane. "I had proceeded following behind the car in front of me and shortly, trouble came. My car was stopped by another man at the gate of the ZON. "The passengers in this red car rushed to my door and smashed the window with their fists and I can clearly see one man with a steering wheel lock. "I quickly drove off and soon, I saw more people chasing after my car. These were people on motorcycles and everything turned chaotic. "This attack happened all the way from Stulang Laut to the JB customs. I drove into the customs to sought protection from the police and surprisingly, these attackers followed me all the way into the customs and carried on smashing the car. "There were just a few police officers and they got us (there were two other friends with me) out of the car. But after we were out of the car, they carried on with the attack and even jumped on the roof of my car." According to the STOMPer, about 20 men attacked his car that night. He found out from Malaysian police later that only nine people were arrested, and among them were three 15-year-old minors. He added: "I had been chased by two Malaysian cars and at least 10 motorcycles that night. "I had numerous helmets being thrown at my car and several attempts by the two cars to corner my car. I am a frequent visitor to JB for the cheap food and petrol. "I am writing this to inform fellow drivers, that JB is totally not safe at all and we are always the vulnerable victims." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...because_of.html

Pyschopath on the loose? Folks staying in Yishun, watchout. Suay for these owners.... http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg..._in_yishun.html Serial Vandal Loose in Yishun: 10th Car Smashed The windscreen of STOMPer Clare's car was smashed on Sunday (Mar 13), making it the tenth car in the Yishun Street 22 carpark to be vandalised, the STOMPer claims. The STOMPer reported: "My car got smashed on the windscreen twice yesterday (Mar 13) when it was parked at an open air carpark at Yishun Street 22. "Apparently this is not the first case of vandalism at this carpark. "My car is the tenth car we know of that got smashed by this vandal in the past few months and the culprit has not been caught yet. "My family and I personally witnessed four cases of vandalism over the past few months. "Just a block away, three cars were smashed on the windscreen in one night, some time last year in Jan/Feb. "This was confirmed by the shop owners near the carpark. "We were also told by the police officers there were around 10 cases of vandalism reported at that carpark. "I would like to appeal to the other victims to sign a petition for the MP to arrange for more patrols in the area, or for a CCTV to be installed in this neighbourhood."

Hit the sack the moment I reached home so only got around to posting this when I woke up.... Anybody driving along Dunearn Road (towards Upper Bukit Timah Road direction) noticed a really bad accident in the middle of the road? An Audi A4 was totally smashed in it's rear - the whole boot and bumped disappeared! One of the most serious rear-end accident I've ever seen... and to think it wasn't on the expressway too. A comfort taxi was the offender... no big surprise eh? he must have been speeding to have caused such a great impact, especially on an Audi no less, and in the rear which is usually the strongest part of a car's structure! An ambulance was onsite as well. Sigh.. the roads are becoming more and more unsafe these days.

Imagine heading to work in the morning, thinking it was any other regular day. You arrive at your car and see it smashed. To add salt to the wound, the culprit has fled. This happened in STOMPer Eugene's neighbourhood. He was passing by this carpark at Block 49 Dorset Road yesterday morning (May 27) when he saw two cars smashed. "I heard that it happened in the middle of the night. The car smashed into the blue car, and the impact was so great that the blue car hit the white one too," he said.

Hi guys, Just got an answer to check with you all. My friend's car window(Passenger side) got smashed and broken into. I believe insurance do cover it as theft. but will the NCD be affected or is it viewed as similar to that of windscreen crack where NCD is not affected? Anyone have such any advise?

Hi guys. Was visited by cops in the morning on this case. Apparently, that idiot gave up after few attempts as the glass refused to give way. He was aiming for the cashcard. The other lorry was not so lucky as the screen was totally smashed with a hole so as to gain access to the IU unit. Now I need to change this windscreen of mine. I cannot claim insurance as I am on Third Party Fire and Theft from China Insurance. Could anyone know where can i fix this problema and the cost? I am on Honda Jazz. Any other advice appreciated. Thank you.

Any of our members here using that carpark? The police cannot catch the culprit for the past 5 years? Windscreens smashed by falling ice cubes in Bishan carpark By Hoe Yeen Nie, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 05 March 2007 2304 hrs SINGAPORE: Up to 20 cars parked between block 145 and 148, Bishan St 11, are believed to have been damaged by ice cubes hurled from an HDB flat. Residents say the incidents usually occur on Saturdays in the early hours of the morning, resulting in car parks often left empty to avoid car windscreens being shattered. Residents have had to endure falling ice cubes for the past five years. Police are still investigating the case. - CNA/yy http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../262175/1/.html
