  1. TL;DR - Double whammy as a BMW X6 crashes into building before taking out nearby pedestrians at Jalan Besar At this point, it’s not safe to be anywhere. Even on pavements, there’s a risk that a pedestrian gets hit by vehicles. Here's an example. Watch this 89-second clip of the crash. What happened? The driver of the BMW X6 lost control of the car and went head on into the building (right beside Hotel 81…) at Jalan Besar. He also took out the Mayo Street road sign. Hello LTA? If you look closely enough (at the first three seconds), there was a male pedestrian wearing white who seemed like he got caught in between as the car literally rammed towards his direction. Hope he’s okay... Online Chatter The comments were pretty brutal, everyone seems to be putting the blame on the driver. Which makes sense but of course, we shouldn’t be too quick to judge since we do not know the full story. He seemed fine (and weirdly calm) though since he was able to get out of the car without assistance and strolled to the other side. Some sharp-eyed netizens noticed the striking white and blue Hotel 81 signboard just beside the Cheers convenience store the driver crashed into. Oooh steamy...? I mean the car as it got busted. 2. Road works are becoming more of a common occurrence on our roads. This calls for drivers to be more aware of their surroundings, since the road barriers usually cut into a lane, making lanes narrower. Watch this video to find out what happens when a driver lacks such awareness when driving. Watch the video of the dramatic accident here: A Citroen MPV was unaware of the road barriers which were set up on Alexandra Road. The driver then proceeded to ram the barriers at a rather high speed, causing a rather violent 'explosion' of barriers. Worst still, the driver nearly smashed into construction workers who were standing nearby, almost causing a fatality. The dislodged barriers also nearly caused a passing motorcyclist an accident. Luckily, he was quick enough to jam brake, saving him crashing into the barrier. Turns out to be that the the motorcyclist was a really top dude, rushing over to the driver of the Citroen MPV to check if he was alright after tending to his own bike. In a rare moment of positivity on social media, especially on road accident pages, netizens also praised the motorcyclist for checking on the Citroen driver despite his own mishap. Another netizen however, pointed out that the driver of the Citroen might have been distracted by his phone. Please be reminded that using a phone while driving may cause you imprisonment of up to 6 months, a fine of up to $1,000 or both, if found guilty. If anything, let this video be a reminder to all that road conditions do change, and that however familiar we are of certain roads, it is unwise to be complacent or distracted when driving at all times. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Some of the footage where people cracked and turn berserk in office. Have any of you encounter similar office rage at your office/career? Where colleagues suddenly turned emotional or violent and smashing things or beating up people? I was pretty lucky the worst I've encountered is a senior staff screaming his lungs off the director and walking out of her office slamming her door. The next thing that happened is the security coming up to escort him out of the office. He was not even allow to pack his desk and we had to help him pack and pass his stuff to him outside. This senior of mine was actually a nice person and a great worker, he did have temper issues but nothing he can't control....until now. He just suddenly snapped and we were all shocked when he screamed inside. Apparently it was partly caused by his family issues, as well as some pressures from the bosses.
