  1. 11 Die On Day One Of Ops Sikap 19 KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- Eleven people have died in ten road accidents nationwide on the first day of Ops Sikap 19 which began yesterday. Bukit Aman public relations officer Supt Rasdi Ramli said the highest number of cases involved motorcyclists with 5 deaths followed by car (2), van (1), lorry (1) pedestrians (2). "Day one of Ops Sikap 19 recorded 1,018 road accidents including ten fatal accidents," he said in a statement here today. Rasdi said federal and state roads recorded the highest casualty with five deaths followed by highways with three while other roads accounted for one each. Police issued 9,083 summonses to motorists for committing various traffic offences. Ops Sikap 19 from Jan 19-Feb 2 is aimed at reducing road accidents during Chinese New Year.
