??? Any bros any idea what the owner is up to? http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...l_over_car.html STOMPer Shamim was tickled by the sight of this newspaper-covered car at the PSA building carpark this morning. It appears the owner of this car had stuck pages from the newspaper all over his car. Not sure what to think, Shamim says: "I saw this car at PSA carpark. "It was so funny that he put newspapers all over his car".

My complain to LTA... hee hee... happy reading ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would like to make known my disgrunt at the traffic situation this morning along Upper Serangoon Road (towards Woodsville Flyover before the ERP gantry Bendemeer Road). I set off early as usual so to avoid the rush hour jam and avoid ERP charges at the said gantry (I believe most motorist on the road at that point of time is like-minded with me). The moment we hit the stretch of road near Woodleigh MRT station, traffic start to come to a crawl. The usual 3 mins drive from that point to the ERP gantry became a 15 mins drive. Why? It was because 1 lane along Upper Serangoon Road (after Poton Pasir MRT) was closed. There were LTA cones placed along that road but no road diversion signs. Adding insult to injury, there wasn't a single worker on the closed road... ain't the lane closure supposed to mean so form of road works was supposed to be carried out? I would have taken a photo if I could. Perhaps you can go take a look now... mostly likely still no workers there. The clock showed 730am and the 4-lane road became 2 lanes, coz 1 lane was closed for god-know reasons and 1 lane became the bus lane. Due to the congestion, motorist like me who set off ealry ended up paying the ERP charges. So, is the LTA (or rather the main contractor) going to reimburse us the ERP charges? Most likely not right? But for courtesy sake, at least post the lane closure situation on one.motoring.com's traffic news. So that motorist can choose an alternate route.

According to the track manager, in his 20+ years working at the track, he has not encountered anything like this. Usually is ppl bang wall, tyre puncture or other whatnots. Post pic first. Later let the owner come in tell story himself.

Read in ST today that our Finance Minister said recession is not in sight. What are your views on this?

Unfortunately, I was unable to get a picture in time, but let me describe what I saw. It was about 4pm (08-06-08) and I was along Orchard Road near to Centrepoint when I spotted a dark blue Accord (New Accord) with some damage to its rear bumper. Upon moving closer, I could see that it was actually the front license plate of another vehicle stuck to its bumper. Of course I couldn't see the number of the stuck plate but you could see the frame of the plate. The Accord's plate was SFL 5??? ?, the rest I don't remember and it was driven by a lady (40-50yrs) with permed hair. I think she probably reversed into another vehicle and "Stole" the license plate from the vehicle that she hit. So if anyone is suffering from a hit and run and missing license plate, I'm sorry, was not able to catch a pic, traffic required my full attention on the road.

Apologies for the poor resloution (I guess 288x352 is just a wee bit pathetic for today's standards but that's the best my phone can go) but along with the Opel Lotus Omega, P1800, Renault Avantime and 1st generation SL ,this probably ranks among my top 5 rarest daily-useable cars in S'pore (excluding, of course, short-run exoticars such as the recently purchased Zonda and the No.8 Ferrari F50 et al). Heard that one was recently posted on the classifieds. Wonder if there were any takers..... Oh, btw, it's a regular in my office carpark....
