  1. I'm here to seek opinions and views.. This is happening to a friend.. He seems lost and clueless, and I am wondering if this will ever happen to me one day.. so would like to hear any views.. My friend got to know a china gal.. early 30s and a MBA holder, working in a MNC. They dated for a while and clicked, and there are chemistry between them so called. They seem to think they have found each other, the one they have been looking for all these years, and talked about future, about getting married, about having kids, about how to maintain a marriage, etc etc.. Problem now is the guy's parents, more to the mum I think, will definitely object to the relationship, cos the gal is from China. Even my friend's relatives like cousins and uncles and aunties are telling him better not get married to gals from China. For me, I just stay neutral, I do not know what is right to advise, as I dunno the gal. He has spoken about settling down before, and talked about foreign brides etc.. and the reaction from his mum then was very negative. Shecould even talk about dun expect her to attend his wedding etc, this kinda thing. He now has made clear to the gal that this will be an obstacle to overcome. The gal doesnt understand why there's such an obstacle.. And she suddenly feels sad that she's a Chinese.. and when she finds someone whom she feels can settle down with, being a Chinese ( she means pp from China) is actually a hindrance to her happiness.. They spoke, they discussed, and she said she will notwalk away and give up without putting up a fight.. to convince my friend's mum that she's not the negative type that others stereotyped China gals to be.. Again when my friend told me, I stayed neutral and not to rub salt into the wound, I said but who knows what will happen in future? But again, even if it's a local gal, things can happen in future too. He said he's lost, and knowing to bring up this to the mum definitely will cause 家变, in English is family disharmony? or it can mean worse? The gal is affected, so is he.. I also dunno what to tell him, cos I cannot predict future. Not that I am biased against other nationality, but I really dunno who and what will change in the future. But it could be my friend himself who changes.. Then again, I think even if local gals, such worries will exist too.. Shouldnt we be more open and not stereotype? I dunno.. I feel maybe one day such may happen to me, though I dunno if my parents will be against gals of other nationalities.. Your views?
  2. currently I'm driving an 1991 swift... coe till aug/2011. outstanding loan still at around 15k. coe is at 18k+, its registered under my uncle's name as the insurance is lower. I'm 27 btw. this is my first car... been having quite a lot of problems with the ride for past 2 yr 9mths... recently fc for a 1000cc swift is average 8 km per litre. many coughs n hiccups. initially thought of drivin it till 2011. but the repairs n fc really makes mi think twice... nv bought a new car b4. heard from colleagues that if i buy a new car from authorised agent, they can help me settle my old car outstanding loan and input the old outstandin loan into the new car's loan. is tat really possible? if yes does it apply to certain authorised agents or all agents. does PI also provide this kinda of package, as currently i do nt wish to come up with any money to settle my old loan, cos i'm prepared to take a 10 yr loan for the new ride. main reason of changin the ride is really due to the many problems by the swift and fc and sometimes i felt tat safety aspect also one of the issue. n also i find that the ride really no power, i'm nt sayin i wanted rex or evo pickup, jus tat sometime i can rev up the way to 5-6 rpm. but can only hear the engine roaring, but the wheels nt moving as the sound should be. every mth sure got this n tat problem. really pissin me off. been enduring for the past 2 yrs, really cant take all these nonsense anymore liao. Do all PI or authorised agents do this kinda of services, kindly advise.... if yes, goin to PI or authorised agents will be better? and any good PI to recommend if yes.. thks all for reading this post. cheers..........
