I am having a Latio now and planning to have the 2nd baby. The car seat I'm using is quite big (360 degree turning from Combi). We plan to use the same for the 2nd baby. Currently my first baby is about 15months old. If I need to use 2 of this combi 360 degree turning car seat, I am afraid that my wife may not have enough space to sit in between with 2 car seats installed at the back. I have 2 questions: 1. What's the youngest age for toddler to use a basic toddler seat / booster seat? 2. What is the 5 seater car that has good space to house 2 such car seats yet having enough space at the centre? (besides Edix?) Any other suggestions are welcome! I try not to go beyond 5 seaters categories.....

2019 Subaru Ascent It rises from the ashes of the Tribeca. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/2019-subaru-ascent-official-photos-and-info-news Nearly half a decade after the demise of Subaru’s Tribeca SUV, the Japanese brand will jump back into the three-row crossover game with the 2019 Subaru Ascent. Built on the scalable Subaru Global Platform that also underpins the latest Impreza, the Ascent rides on a 113.8-inch wheelbase and contains a formidable 152 cubic feet of passenger space in its boxy body, comparable to the Honda Pilot (152 cubic feet) and the Volkswagen Atlas (153 cubic feet) but falling short of the massive Chevrolet Traverse by five cubes. The Ascent offers standard seating for eight, thanks to three-across benches in both the second and third rows. A pair of second-row captain’s chairs, a no-cost option on all but the base Ascent, limits seating to seven. Regardless, the three-row Subaru provides 20 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third row and 73 cubes with both the second and third rows folded Max PowerPowering the Ascent is a new turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine making 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, the latter at a low 2000 rpm—that’s 10 more ponies than the turbo four in the Mazda CX-9 but 33 lb-ft less torque. The Ascent’s turbo four, however, is torquier than the V-6s offered in the Traverse, Pilot, and Atlas and significantly more than Subaru’s own 3.6-liter flat-six powerplant. As in every Subaru not named BRZ, the Ascent comes standard with all-wheel drive. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) serves as the middleman between the engine and the axles, and a set of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters accesses eight preset ratios for simulated stepped gearchanges. Subaru claims the Ascent can tow up to 5000 pounds when properly equipped, a figure that betters the Mazda by 1500 pounds and matches the maximum towing capacities of the Chevy, Honda, and Volkswagen. Safe and SoundStandard on every Ascent is Subaru’s EyeSight suite of safety features, which includes automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-departure warning. Additionally, all Ascent trims feature a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The display measures 6.5 inches in the base Ascent but grows to 8.0 inches in the Premium, Limited, and Touring models. Ascending the trim-level ladder adds comfort and convenience items such as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, heated seats for the first two rows, and a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert. A reverse automated braking system, a power liftgate, and a proximity key with push-button start are optional on the Premium but come standard on Limited and Touring trims. Additionally, the Limited model features leather upholstery, LED headlights, and retractable second-row sunshades, while the top-of-the-line Touring adds ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, a camera-based rearview mirror, navigation, and a panoramic sunroof. Both the navigation system and the sunroof also are available as options on Premium and Limited models. Would this come to Singapore? It certainly looks better than the Tribeca.

Jeep three-row Chinese SUV will be called Grand Commander https://www.autoblog.com/2018/01/16/jeep-large-suv-china-grand-commander/ China is still very much a Jeep country, and the boxy XJ generation Cherokee lived and prospered there far longer than it did in the United States — until 2014. There have also been China-built Grand Cherokees, but the biggest Chinese Jeep has been previewed in the form of the Yuntu concept seen at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. Now, leaked shots of the Yuntu's production version have emerged a couple weeks after the SUV was spotted testing still in camouflage, and it appears to wear the nameplate GrandCommander. While a name like Grand Wagoneer would have been a stronger memento of Jeeps gone by, at least it's not called Grand Compassor Grand Nitro. The official reveal of the Grand Commander is expected to be held at the Beijing Auto Show in April, where more information will be available. Car News China says the big, nearly 16-foot-long SUV is a seven-seater, and the engine is the same 2-liter turbo unit also seen in the freshly updated Wrangler. There will be two power levels, 234 hp and 265 hp. The Grand Commander will most likely remain China-only, where it will be priced at $38,000. That sees it competing withVolkswagen's large Teramont SUV, which starts at nearly $45,000.

After BMW had an unrivalled 7 seater MPV, hopefully MB will launch too, saw the extended 7 seater B class in google. There're few MPV with following criteria: - Euro NCAP 5 star - Less than 2.0L engine to avoid hefty road tax & petrol. - Petrol engine, do not wan to polllute even if disel engine is cheap. - reasonable 3rd row space. The choices are: Orlando, Touran, BMW G Tourer, Zafira, C4 G Picasso. That's it, so few!!! None of the above is appealing, can't wait for MB to launch their 7 seater!!!

Hi all, Happy New Year. Anyone knows if PML will be bringing in this model ?
-
i intend to change my father ride from 730Li to a 7 seater SUV. x5 Q7 XC90 fortuner GL450 Land Rover Discovery btw, i am talking about the old USED cars to keep costs low. of these, which is the better one with reliability being highest priority. reason is because my father really really really hate a car to breakdown leaving him stranded. thanks for any input.

http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=34 Nothing much to say for this...except...unless the price difference is greater, just go for the Grand Picasso, or else, other cars.

Dear all, Need some advice here. I'm thinking of change from my current sedan (Mazda3) to a 7 seater, to cater my bigger kids and extended family. We also plan to do road trips to Malaysia or even Thailand more frequently in the coming years. Due to budget, I'll only consider 2nd hand. Initially I was thinking of the popular choices, either a WISH or a STREAM, more inclined to the WISH. But I'm not sue whether a SUV will be more suited when drive to Malaysis/Thailand where road conditions may be too rough for an MPV. Then I'm concerned with the service and fuel costs that SUV may incur more than MPV, and the noise level. So I summarised the pros and cons of the two options: MPV pros: cheaper, better FC, comfortable(?), quite. cons: not suitable for bumpy roads when trip to some parts in north. SUV pros: good for road trip. cons: rough ride(?), more costly (fuel and servicing), noisier(I guess?) Not sure if my summary is correct. For MPVs, my top candidates are WISH/STREAM, then some other less popular choices such as Grandis, Mazda5, Touran. The former are actually not cheap compared to the later due to its popularity but in the long run I think the overall cost in servicing will be less than later? For SUVs I'm looking at Fortuner, Santa Fe, Captiva, Crossroad. If WISH/STREAM has no problem for road trips to Malaysia/Thailand then I can settle with either one. But if they are not, then I'll probably choose an SUV, with priority given to reliability, quietness, FC in that order. Hope can get more info and suggestions for these cars listed. thx! ps: a side question, is it possible to install roof racks on WISH/STREAM? will it damage the car in someway or it's a standard add-on for any car?

Anyone know of others apart from the below? 1. Fortuner 2. Sante Fe 3. Chev Captiva

The BAC Mono is probably one of the most fun-to-drive track car of recent. It is likely to be one of the fastest too. Fans of Top Gear would especially find it familiar - the car was presented recently and stole the limelight when it propelled itself to the second top spot on the lap times chart. So what is the BAC Mono all about? Built by the Cheshire-born brothers - Neill and Ian Briggs - the BAC Mono was conceived with car enthusiasts in mind. Mono (short for monoposto or single seat) was designed to provide formula race car levels of handling and performance - hence an equivalent level of thrill. At 520bhp/tonne, the Mono has a power to weight ratio that supercedes that of the Bugatti Veyron. The result is a 0-96km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds and onto 160km/h in just 6.7 seconds. As with any track racers, sheer straight-line speed is not everything. But worry not, the Mono has the Briggs brothers' expertise to take care of things. All in all, 15 years of experience in the industry. To ensure that the Mono is a bang-on hit, the brothers sought the expertise of others. For instance, the aerodynamics were optimised with help from Stuttgart University. The car is constructed out of carbon fibre, with a turbular steel safety cell for the driver - a concept similar to that of a DTM race car. Then, there is the 2.3-litre unit from Cosworth, mounted longitudinally for better weight distribution. Suspension is rose-jointed, aero profiled push rod, with adjustable dampler from Sachs Racing. Brakes are courtesy of AP Racing. The list goes on. To us, the functional design of the Mono is simply stunning to look at. While we can't say an absolute no, there is a very slim chance that we'll ever get to try it. So to top it all off, a little competition is always interesting and exciting. Jump to the video below to see two drivers pit their skills in the Mono. P.S.: not just any driver - Ron Simons is a driving instructor at the Nurburgring; Sabine Schmitz a German professional racing driver, who is widely known as 'Queen of the Ring' with her two-time overall victories at the 24 Hr of Nurburgring in a BMW. http://dai.ly/x128g8e

Hi Friends Due to the arrival of a 2nd one, I am considering changing from a sedan to a bigger ride. This will allow me to dump all the necessary baby items and as well as ferry my folks from time to time. Naturally I would think of MPV but those sporty looking ones cannot seems to fit 5 adults and 2 kids comfortably. With that I am referring to Stream and Wish and I dont really like the shape (no offence to current owners) of Odessey, Grandis or Estima. With that thought in mind I will be doing some research on SUV and specifically a 7 seater one. Budget is 100k and below and I dont need a real off roader. Couple of examples I will be looking at are (which I am not sure if there are 7 seater) are: - Forester - Outlander - RAV4 LWB Is there any others I can should be looking out for? Regards
