  4. Once again the Skoda Octavia has done well in an independent car survey organised by JD Power. The Octavia has come in as the overall winner in the family car category. Hoooray! Now that's something I'm proud to tell my colleagues coz most of them think I'm a bozo to have bought a Skoda. Winner Skoda Octavia 85.1% It's perhaps something of a surprise to not find a Toyota at the top of this category, but the Skoda's position is well deserved. It was the only car in this class to be rated as excellent for both dealer service and ownership costs, and every category but one saw an above-average rating. Looking at appeal, it was the highest scorer in the class for its engine and transmission, and also scored well for its seats, dashboard and styling. With Volkswagen standards behind it, it also scored strongly for quality, with scores consistently above average across the board. http://www.whatcar.com/news/report/data.as...ticle=919&cat=2 Even the Fabia and the Felicia did well! 84.6% Second supermini and sixth in the overall ranking, there's precious little to fault about our former Car of the Year. Rated excellent in four of the eight categories, and above average in three others, it's an example to almost every other car. Like the Yaris, the dealership experience was rated very highly, particularly the costs of service and repair, with only the facilities rated as mediocre. Its seats were rated as the best in a supermini, and it also scored well for convenience. The only problem area was exterior quality, such as faulty washers, wipers, windows and mirrors. Skoda Felicia 82.8% Second Skoda in the top four superminis, the Felicia continues Skoda's superb record. Although it was the lowest placed Skoda overall, it still finished in 16th place in the final league table, ahead of some more expensive badges. Like the Fabia, it scored extremely well for its ownership costs and dealer service. But the newer car was clearly well ahead in most other respects, especially in its appeal. The Fabia outshone the Felica by the way it drove, its comfort, practicality and styling. What they do have in common, though, is a relative lack of complaints for their quality. http://www.whatcar.com/news/report/data.as...ticle=921&cat=2
