  1. @Tianmo @therock hold your horse, new model coming in a year + time. The next generation of the Mercedes GLB made its spy debut in Europe. The new GLB will share its MMA underpinnings with the CLA and the GLA. It will be available with fully electric and mild-hybrid powertrain options. The front end features slimmer LEDs flanking a large grille that appears to be mounted lower on the front bumper. The greenhouse has been slightly tweaked, as with the upright tail. The latter has been disguised with fake taillight stickers resembling those of the discontinued Smart Fortwo. Speaking of resemblance, the Mercedes GLB might have a similar shape and size with the Smart #5, but the two SUVs are unrelated, as the Smart rides on a Geely-sourced architecture. Mercedes’ entire future compact lineup will ride on the new MMA (Mercedes Modular Architecture) platform, which is compatible with ICE and EV powertrains. We already know most of the options for the upcoming CLA, which will likely find their way under the hood of the GLB. The fully electric models that will eventually replace the EQB could offer the option between a rear-mounted electric motor with 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS), or a dual-motor setup with 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS). The EV will likely be available with 58 kWh and 85 kWh battery packs, although its driving range will be shorter than the 750 km expected from the more aerodynamic CLA. The ICE-powered lineup will include a mild-hybrid 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and a small electric motor inside the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The combustion engine is expected to be offered with different outputs, rated at 134 hp (136 PS), 161 hp (163 PS), and 188 hp (190 PS), with an additional 27 hp (20 kW) from the electric motor.
  2. https://electricvehicleweb.in/toyota-corolla-cross-preliminary-details/amp/ https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/toyota-corolla-cross-2021-rendered-new-mini-rav4-hybrid-coming-to-lure-you-out-of-a-kia Baby RAV4? Looks like Toyota will be releasing a new CUV in thailand and I think likely to come to sg. But really, too many CUVs on the road and no characteristics. This model likely to take over the CHR to be the next popular phv vehicle.
  3. Compared to the current X1, the grill seems to be wider by not as tall?
  4. Urban life presents particular challenges. When it comes to driving, it's an environment where motorists increasingly appreciate the robust, high-riding qualities of an SUV, but on a scale tailored to suit urban streets and with a genuine emphasis on environmental performance. At the same time, drivers want a vehicle that's distinctive and stylish, and which has all the flexibility they need for an active lifestyle. These are exactly the qualities Toyota has instilled in the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross. The new Toyota Yaris Cross has been designed and developed for Europe, specifically to meet the requirements and preferences of the region's B-SUV market. It will be made in Europe too, at Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF), alongside the new generation Yaris hatchback, from 2021. True hybrid, true SUV The new Yaris Cross draws on Toyota's strong heritage of advanced hybrid technology, small car design and SUV engineering. Toyota's world leadership in hybrid vehicle technology includes the first use of a hybrid system in a B-segment car with the original Yaris Hybrid in 2012. The unmatched experience it has gained ensures that Toyota Yaris Cross's new fourth generation hybrid powertrain delivers exceptional performance and efficiency. As a member of the Yaris family, Yaris Cross is constructed on Toyota's new GA-B compact car platform. It also shares the "big-small" design and packaging concept that characterised the original Yaris, and presents a roomy interior within compact exterior dimensions. Toyota Yaris Cross is also a genuine SUV, benefiting from Toyota's experience in originating the concept of the recreational SUV 25 years ago with the RAV4 - today the world's best-selling SUV - and more recently in producing the stylish and highly efficient C-HR. A raised ride height and the availability of AWD-i intelligent all-wheel drive reinforce its authentic SUV credentials. Adding Yaris Cross to the line-up will give Toyota an SUV range that spans the B, C and D segments. New hybrid powertrain Yaris Cross benefits from Toyota's fourth generation hybrid technology. Toyota successfully pioneered the use of full hybrid technology in B-segment cars with the introduction of the first Yaris Hybrid hatchback in 2012. Since then, more than half a million have been sold in Europe, making it a powerful tool in building public awareness and appreciation of the technology. The Yaris and Yaris Cross are the first models to use Toyota's latest 1.5 hybrid system, developed directly from the larger 2.0 and 2.5-litre powertrains used by recent new models such as the Corolla, C-HR, RAV4 and Camry. This features a new 1.5-litre, three-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, precision-engineered to reduce friction and mechanical losses and optimise combustion speed. The result is high torque at low engine speeds and excellent fuel efficiency. The engine's thermal efficiency is rated at 40%, which is greater than comparable diesel engines and ensures strong fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The new hybrid system has a maximum output of 116 DIN hp. Special attention has been given to power delivery, making the system very responsive to drive. In terms of emissions efficiency, the front-wheel drive model starts from below 90 g/km CO2 and the AWD-i version from below 100 g/km. Toyota GA-B platform Toyota Yaris Cross follows its sibling hatchback model in adopting Toyota's new GA-B vehicle platform. This ensures a high level of body rigidity and a well-balanced chassis, making the car responsive and agile. All urban. All SUV With the Yaris Cross, Toyota has produced an authentic SUV on a smaller scale, giving customers the higher driving position, practicality and interior spaciousness, they desire in a car with compact dimensions that make it well-suited to urban driving. The design evokes the classic qualities of SUVs, with a higher body and larger wheels/tyres communicating strength and purpose. Toyota Yaris Cross has the same 2,560 mm wheelbase as the new Yaris hatchback, but is 240 mm longer overall, with 60 mm added to the front overhang and 180 mm to the rear, securing more interior space. The ground clearance is 30 mm higher and the vehicle is taller and wider overall - by 90 and 20 mm respectively. Practical and Versatile Being a true SUV, special attention has been given to practicality and versatility. There's a power back door for when your hands are full. And an adjustable deck height to give the flexibility of either a secure underfloor compartment or increased trunk space for larger loads. In addition, the deck board itself can be split in two, giving customers both increased space and an underfloor storage area. The trunk is also equipped with a new flex belt system to secure items and stop them shifting during driving. Yaris Cross is just as spacious as it is practical. With all seats up and tonneau cover in place it delivers a large trunk volume. However, if more load capacity is needed, then there's a 40:20:40 foldable rear seat system to balance rear passenger space with cargo needs. Intelligent all-wheel drive One of the features that defines the new Toyota Yaris Cross as an authentic SUV is the availability of an intelligent all-wheel drive system - a unique feature in its class for a hybrid model. AWD-i provides extra stability and traction in everyday driving, in poor conditions and on low-grip surfaces. An electric system, it is more compact and weighs less than mechanical AWD units, helping the Yaris Cross Hybrid AWD-i achieve lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions than any of its all-wheel drive B-SUV competitors. The system directs drive torque to the rear axle when pulling away and when accelerating. In normal driving, the Toyota Yaris Cross operates with front-wheel drive, but when low-grip conditions are detected, all-wheel drive is engaged automatically. This can be, for example, on wet cobblestones, in heavy rain, on wet or packed snow, or on sand. Advanced Driver Assistance System The foundation of the new Yaris Cross's safety performance is its GA-B platform, giving the car an exceptionally rigid body. With the intention of meeting the highest and most rigorous independent test standards, it will further benefit from Toyota Safety Sense active safety systems and advanced driver assistance functions, helping to avoid a wide range of common accident risks through driver information, early warnings and, when necessary, automatic braking and steering intervention. Design The design process of Toyota Yaris Cross brought together a wide team from studios in both Europe and Japan. To describe their ideas and inspiration in more detail, please find below the words of one member of the team - Lance Scott, Design General Manager at Toyota's EDD studio in Nice, France. "When we started this process, we understood that whilst style is the number one purchase reason in the B-SUV segment, customers were also keen to have a high level of practicality. Not easy things to reconcile, especially in a compact package. From the very beginnings of the design concept, we had the European customer in mind, but needed to understand more about them. So we went out and interviewed real customers to understand their lifestyle, what they liked, what their daily activities were and how they enjoyed themselves. After an enjoyable and enlightening process, we came back enthusiastic to design a car that would mirror their personality and deliver a vibrant combination of being both sophisticated and energetic. As a team, we came up with the key words 'Robust' and 'Minimalistic', which we felt would express both compactness and agility, as well as the robustness and strength of an SUV. When we started to sketch ideas for the exterior, the iconic image of a diamond consistently came to mind. Subsequently we coined the phrase 'nimble diamond' to express the hard, strong and premium image of the gemstone combined with the agile and fun to drive personality we felt the car needed to convey. From the top view, or plan view as we call it, we 'cut', or 'shaved' the body to give us a diamond shape that allowed us the space to emphasise the fenders. This diamond body shape combined with the 4 bold fenders gave us an energetic shape which was both strong and sophisticated. Clearly, we want the car to be immediately perceived as a SUV, so we emphasised a higher ground clearance, a strong horizontal axis giving a great balance and poise, big squared wheel arches and of course big wheels ... up to 18"! The face was also a very important aspect for us. We wanted to keep the strong DNA of Toyota's SUV line-up but at the same time give Yaris Cross an identity of its own. At the rear, we again focused on giving the car a good stance with the wide fenders illustrating how it looks planted on its wheels. Combining the horizontal rear tail lamps and rear screen clearly shows family identity with Yaris, yet the wider and more squared tailgate hints at the luggage space's larger flexibility for daily usage. For the exterior colour, we started to think about something that could express an active and high-quality image that our target customers would really appreciate. Looking at future colour trends we can see that there is a growing tendency for gold and other precious metals, but we wanted to offer something a bit more natural and urban. Adding a subtle hint of green to the gold direction, whilst also de-saturating the colour to emphasis the metal like appearance, gave us this fresh urban yet active appeal that highlighted the surface form of the exterior. The final result is a colour we call Brass Gold" Toyota expects to produce more than 150,000 Yaris Cross a year at the TMMF Onnaing factory, near Valenciennes in France, and achieve a B-SUV segment share of more than 8%.

  6. Much less futuristic as compared to its cousin (EV9). Using the same E-GMP electric platform as its Kia cousin, the new Ioniq 9 promises loads of space, lavish amenities, and lots of range - over 480 km on every trim. Powering the Ioniq 9 is a 110.3-kilowatt-hour (net) battery pack. The base Long Range model gets a single electric motor powering the rear wheels, while Hyundai offers a dual-motor Long Range variant and a dual-motor Performance model. The Long Range single-motor model makes 215 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The dual-motor Long Range version makes 310 hp and 603 Nm, while the Performance model packs an impressive 430 hp and 698 Nm. The quickest Ioniq 9 gets to 100 km per hour in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 193 km per hour. Hyundai doesn't have range figures for the dual-motor models yet, but the company says every version of the Ioniq 9 will have over 480 km of range. The base single-motor model is estimated to get 539 km per charge. Plug into a 350-kilowatt-capable DC fast charger and it’ll recharge the Ioniq from 10 to 80% in just 24 minutes. The Ioniq 9 even has a maximum towing capacity of 2,268 kg. With enough space for six or seven people inside, depending on the configuration, passengers in the second row will be able to experience Hyundai's new Relaxation Seats, which have a Dynamic Touch Massage function. The first and second rows also lay completely flat, and the second row swivels so you can come face-to-face with passengers in the third row (but only when the vehicle is stationary). Eco-friendly upholstery covers the seats and interior panels. The materials range from sustainably sourced leather to recycled polyethylene terephthalate fabric, and even wool. The driver and front passenger have access to dual 12.0-inch screens—one central touchscreen and a secondary digital instrument cluster. And an eight-speaker audio system comes standard while a Bose 14-speaker system is available as an option. With a 3,129 mm wheelbase and a total length of 5,060 mm, the Ioniq 9 is plenty roomy. It has 1,900 mm of headroom and 2,050 mm of legroom with the second and third rows combined. The battery configuration also means that the Ioniq 9 has a completely flat floor all the way to the third row. The rear cargo hold has 617 liters of space. Fold the third row flat and that number grows to 1,322 liters. The Ioniq 9 also has a frunk—or front trunk—that can carry 88 liters worth of cargo on the rear-wheel drive model or 51 liters on all-wheel-drive models. The ‘aerosthetic' exterior design combines futuristic elements like eight-bit headlights and taillights with aerodynamic efficiency. That yields a drag coefficient of just 0.259 Cd with the optional digital side mirrors (which likely aren't available in the US). By comparison, the Tesla Model X has a drag coefficient of 0.24 Cd. In keeping with the eco-friendly theme, the Ioniq 9 uses a new paint compound made from recycled tire waste. Buyers can choose from 16 different colors, with a few new hues made specifically for the Ioniq 9: Celadon Gray Matte, Celadon, Gray Metallic, Ionosphere Green Pearl, Sunset Brown Pearl, and Cosmic Blue Pearl.
  7. This is not another normal SUV / MPV... You are looking at the first large size EV from Skoda, with RWD setup! Skoda hasn’t built a rear-wheel-drive vehicle since the early 1990s when the 105/120/125 series of rear-engined RWD cars was discontinued to make way for the Favorit with the engine in the front driving the front wheels. The Mladá Boleslav marque is returning to its roots, but with an electric twist as the Enyaq iV will eschew the combustion engine for an electric motor. Riding on the same MEB platform as the forthcoming VW ID.4, the Enyaq will be a follow-up to the appealing Vision iV concept introduced about a year ago at the Geneva Motor Show. While it won’t look as exciting as the showcar before it, the electric vehicle should have some extra pizzazz compared to the firm’s conventionally powered SUVs, such as the Karoq or Kodiaq. One thing I’d like to add is that while the concept had some coupe influences, the production car will be more in the spirit of a tall wagon.
  8. Since no thread on the latest 3rd Gen VW Tiguan , think should start this thread for potential buyers. As discussed in the car sexpo thread, found the courage to meet the MILF SE this afternoon. Was quite impressed with the overall car and it was crowded with many people molesting and abusing the showroom Tiguan car. Price increased by 5k as compared with the sexpo price. Those who test drove and signed on the dotted line , pls share share here..😅

    Aion Y Plus

No one talking about Aion Y Plus?
  10. Nice outlook, BUT there is NO rear windscreen! A big NO for me. And I find Polestar's naming convention rather confusing. This PS4 actually sit between PS2 (compact sedan) and PS3 (mid-size crossover), Swapping the name with PS3 make more sense imo. The Polestar 4 is the brand’s latest addition to the electric automaker’s growing lineup, with the new SUV slotting between the Polestar 2 sedan and the larger 3 in terms of size and price. The compact crossover adopts a stylish design showcasing key features from the Polestar Precept concept car. The Polestar 4 will be available in both single- and dual-motor layouts. The long-range, dual-motor version produces 544 horsepower and 686 Nm of torque. The crossover can hit 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds, making it the brand’s fastest production car ever. Even though the Polestar 1 had more power, the Polestar 4 will complete century sprint 60 quicker. The long-range, single-motor version, which powers the rear wheels, makes 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque. Polestar gives the long-range, single-motor variant a preliminary range target of over 483 kilometers based on the US EPA’s test procedure. The automaker fits both long-range models with the same 102.0-kilowatt-hour battery capable of 200-kilowatt DC charging and 22-kW AC. The 4 has bi-directional charging with vehicle-to-load capability and a heat pump as standard equipment. The Polestar 4 debuts with a new drive optimization function that allows drivers to select between range and performance driving modes. Range prioritizes efficiency, with the crossover capable of disengaging the front electric motor to save energy via a disconnect clutch. Performance mode sharpens the 4’s responsiveness and engages both motors at full power at all times. The dual-motor version has a semi-active suspension, while Polestar offers the model lineup with a range of 20- to 22-inch wheel choices wrapped in either Pirelli or Michelin rubber. The crossover features a low aerodynamic nose, retractable door handles, and frameless windows. It has no rear window glass, with the standard glass roof extending behind the heads of the rear-seat passengers. The Polestar 4 crossover is 4,839 millimeters long, 2,139 mm wide, and 1,544 mm tall. It has a 2,999 mm wheelbase, which makes it as big as the Audi Q7 between the front and rear wheels while being shorter overall. Safety is front and center with the Polestar 4. It has nine airbags, 12 cameras, one radar system, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Drivers glean information from a 10.2-inch display ahead of the steering column, but a 14.7-inch head-up display is available to reduce distractions. It features a nifty “snow mode” that switches the HUD’s text color from white to yellow. A 15.4-inch landscape-oriented infotainment display runs Android Automotive OS. It has built-in Android features like Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store. Apple CarPlay is included, and customers can upgrade to a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system. However, those who upgrade to the Nappa Pack get two additional speakers in each front headrest for 16 total. Polestar will offer the sleek crossover with several upgrade packs. The Plus Pack focuses on improving the model’s tech and comfort kit. The Plus Pro Pack adds color-coded body bits, an electrochromic glass roof, and extra interior illumination. The previously mentioned Nappa Pack, which customers can select with the Plus Pack, also adds massaging seats and Nappa leather upholstery with ventilation. The long-range, dual-motor version is available with a Performance Package that includes Polestar Engineered chassis tuning. The pack also comes with 22-inch wheels, four-piston Brembo brakes, and gold details for the brakes, seat belts, and valve caps. The Polestar 4 will begin production this November in China, where it’ll launch first. The company will release more specific details for other markets in 2024, with the vehicle arriving later that same year. Polestar indicates the crossover will have a launch price of US$60,000 to start.
  11. Honestly, a SUV is the least I am expecting from the French maker since their forte is with light weight sport cars. But if Lotus could have the Eletre, why not for Alpine? Although it's only a concept at this stage but a production version will follow next year, said Alpine. Just like Ferrari is refusing to call the Purosangue an SUV, Alpine doesn't use the acronym too. Instead, it's a "sport fastback." The sloping roofline make it look like the SUV had a one night stand with a coupe. As this is only a concept, the Renault-owned marque can get away with not giving the A390_β a conventional B-pillar. However, that won't be the case for the production model. In addition, the suicide doors won't make it to production as well. Alpine does promise the final car will retain around 85% of the exterior design though. Technical specifications are limited at this point but from the rumors mill, the production model will feature three electric motors, with one sitting at the front and the other two at the rear, enabling all-wheel drive. It won’t be a permanent AWD setup, which suggests the front-mounted motor can be decoupled for a more tail-happy experience. Active torque vectoring is promised for a more engaging drive. The A390 will be the second EV from Alpine, following the A290 hot hatchback. The latter is essentially a high-performance version of the reborn Renault 5. There are also plans for an A310 coupe, a bigger four-seat sports car to take on the Porsche 911 but with an electric setup. By the end of the decade, Alpine intends to have no fewer than seven EVs in its growing lineup. A supercar was recently confirmed and it'll either be entirely electric or will feature a hydrogen-fueled combustion engine.
  12. Will be unveiled officially on 25 July in Europe. The latest gen Q3 look less feminine to me, and just like a smaller brother of Q5, Q7...
  13. Just revealed in Los Angeles. Enjoy these pics. Likely combi of 1.5 and 2.0 Skyactiv engines + Skyactive Drive transmission. Should make it here by 2015.
  14. The new Audi Q6 e-tron (not to be confused with the larger 7 seater version for Chinese market) marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. With a new platform, electronics architecture, charging and battery technology, as well as a pioneering design for Audi, the Q6 e-tron paves the way to Audi's all-electric future. It is the first production model based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). This makes the all-electric SUV with its new E3 1.2 electronic architecture the new reference for Vorsprung durch Technik. With the Q6 e-tron series, e-mobility is coming from the Ingolstadt plant for the first time. The Q6 e-tron will compete directly with BMW upcoming iX3, which is built on a dedicated platform for Vision Neue Klasse X. Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro S Line Audi SQ6 e-tron
  15. Basically a Toyota Yaris Cross in a tuxedo. Rumors of a fancier Yaris Cross have been swirling around for years and now the Lexus LBX is officially here. Positioned below the UX and serving as the new entry-level model, the tiny crossover is an indirect replacement for the defunct CT hatchback. It rides on the same GA-B platform as its Toyota sibling but with different styling to better fit Lexus' design language both inside and out. The LBX is 4,190 millimeters long, 1,825 mm wide, and 1,545 mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Riding on 18-inch wheels as standard equipment, the petite Lexus is actually slightly bigger than the Yaris Cross and tips the scales at 1,280 kilograms. It will be offered with a choice between front- and all-wheel drive, with all configurations coming exclusively with a continuously variable transmission. At the heart of the LBX is a hybrid powertrain based around a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline engine. It produces a combined output of 134 horsepower (100 kilowatts - just nice in cat A) and a maximum torque of 185 Newton-meters. It's enough electrified punch for a 0 to 100 km/h run in 9.2 seconds and a maximum towing capacity of 750 kilograms. All versions of the latest Lexus get a MacPherson strut front suspension while the rear uses a torsion beam for the FWD models and a double wishbone if you opt for AWD. Although the technical specifications for the latter have yet to be disclosed but it will add an electric motor at the rear. Interestingly, the small crossover has an aluminum hood as well as molded resin wheel arches, rockers, and lower door sections to keep weight down. Stepping inside, the LBX boasts a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster with an optional head-up display joined by a 9.8-inch touchscreen. The infotainment supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but only the former has wireless connectivity. Lexus has once again teamed up with Mark Levinson, which supplies the 13-speaker sound system that comes along with a subwoofer. Stick to the front-wheel-drive model and you get a cargo capacity of 332 liters with the rear seats in place. The AWD-equipped LBX is likely to be less practical due to the extra hardware installed at the back. Lexus mentions it hasn't made any compromises in terms of quality and attention even though this is the new entry-level model. The LBX is the company's first model for which development primarily took place in Europe. It's scheduled to enter production by the end of this year and go on sale in Europe along with additional markets in early 2024.

  17. Car debuts later in Paris. Korean automaker KIA has updated its mid-size SUV model, the Sorento. The nameplate is a stalwat among leasing customers because of versatile seatings and a high-riding stance. Engines lined up for the new car are expected to include two gasoline lumps, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a 3.3 V6.
  18. Have to say that Kia is really stepping up the game. Basing on these silhouette shots, I think it 同父异母 (same father different mother) sibling, Hyundai Tucson, has no fight... The official teaser campaign for the 2022 Kia Sportage has begun. The new Sportage will be officially unveiled on 8 June 2021,which is exactly 1 week from now.
  19. Source: https://www.lowyat.net/2022/270902/smart-1-official-launch-specs/ Seven months after Concept #1 was revealed in Munich, the revitalise smart Automobile Co. has officially launched its first production model for the company’s new all-electric era, the smart #1. In case you’re wondering, the actual way to pronounce the EV’s name is “smart HASHTAG one” according to the official launch video. In case you are not familiar with the current iteration of smart Automobile Co., the company is no longer a full subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz but has been transformed into a joint venture between the company and Geely. As such, the Stuttgart giant is responsible for the design of the new smart #1 while the engineering portion is being handled by its Hangzhou counterpart. Exterior-wise, smart has generally retained the design lines of its Concept #1 for the production model albeit with some differences such as smaller 19-inch wheels, a less extravagant glass roof, and rear doors that still have front-mounted hinges. Measuring 4270mm long, 1822mm wide, and 1636mm tall alongside a wheelbase of 2750mm, the 1,820kg SUV also features concealed door handles and frameless doors together with up to 411L boot space and a 15L front boot. Alongside customisable ambient lighting, the smart #1 is equipped with touchscreen infotainment & vehicle control system that features a 12.8-inch Full HD display while the driver has also been provided with a 9.2-inch Full HD digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch Head Up Display. For the Premium and Launch Edition variants of the EV, there is also a 13-speakers audio system from Beats. Featuring a 200kw rear-wheel-drive setup that produces 272PS of power together with 343Nm of maximum torque, the SUV has a maximum speed of 180km/h. Through the car’s 66kWh battery, smart claimed that its new SUV is able to reach a maximum range of between 420km to 440km according to the WLTP standards. As always, charging times depends on the type of charger used with the smart #1. According to the company, the SUV can be charged from 10% to 80% in under 3 hours with a 22kW AC charger or in under 30 minutes when using a 150kW DC charger. Despite the official announcement today, smart didn’t reveal anything regarding the release date or the pricing for its new all-electric compact SUV. While Proton Edar has recently signed a deal to bring smart EVs into Malaysia, the company also has yet to make any official announcement regarding the availability of smart #1 for our market.
  20. The new Defender is being featured in more and more teasers by Land Rover to generate more buzz. It’s not your typical shadowy teaser image as the adjacent photo gallery was shot in Africa where a near-production prototype had to go through some serious hurdles in Kenya. Together with British non-profit organization Tusk Trust, the resurrected off-road SUV was used across the 14,000-hectare Borana Conservancy by wildlife managers to support conservation operations. Approximately two and a half years have passed since the last old-school Defender was built at the factory in Solihull, and we’re now just a few months away from its completely new successor. Land Rover will allegedly unveil the next-gen model in September and will have the iconic off-roader on sale soon. Like its predecessor, the revamped Defender will spawn a great variety of derivatives, from barebones off-roaders to luxurious and powerful versions in a bid to lure in a wider clientele. We’ve spotted it multiple times in short- and long-wheelbase configurations, but we’ve also been hearing rumors of a pickup truck with a single cab setup among other versions.
  21. This compact electric SUV will be even smaller than the XC40, with an estimated dimensions of 4.2m (L) x 1.8m (W) x 1.6m (H). Design wise, the line between products from Volvo and Polestar is getting blurry, and can see that the rear windscreen is very narrow (by SUV standard), again compromising practicality for aesthetic appeal...
  22. Kia Concept EV9 if officially previewed as a large and boxy electric SUV. This EV9 Concept will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 17 Nov 2021, together with the Hyundai Seven Concept (preview of the upcoming Ioniq 7).
  23. 2020 GMC Acadiahttps://www.edmunds.com/gmc/acadia/2020/ 2020 GMC Acadia First Look The Acadia Is Finally the SUV It Should Have Been at LaunchWhen GMC redesigned the Acadia a few years ago, it made a host of improvements to quality, comfort and technology. Unfortunately, the new Acadia retained the old six-speed automatic transmission, which hurt acceleration and fuel economy, and it came standard with a somewhat overmatched four-cylinder engine. The Acadia's fraternal twin, the Chevrolet Traverse, launched with a nine-speed automatic and the GMC's optional V6 as the standard powertrain. Coupled with the fact that it's larger and it offers more interior space, the Traverse seemed like the default choice for a midsize three-row SUV from General Motors. In the years since, the GMC folks have come up with a few solutions that debut on the refreshed 2020 GMC Acadia. With a new look, better powertrain options, technology upgrades, and even an off-road-themed trim, the Acadia finally has an identity all its own. Playing Catch-UpThe outgoing six-speed automatic got the job done, but we like the new nine-speed unit for 2020, and there's no denying that it offers an advantage in terms of fuel economy. Although the non-turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder (193 horsepower, 188 pound-feet of torque) remains the entry-level Acadia engine, higher trims now come standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder (230 hp, 258 lb-ft) that's much more capable. Notably, the stout V6 engine (310 hp, 271 lb-ft) is still an option for buyers so inclined. At a glance, it looks like GMC is simply bringing the Acadia in line with the Traverse, but take a closer look and you'll see that what it has actually done is differentiate it even more. Identity Crisis No MoreThe Traverse only offers its turbo motor in the "sporty" RS trim, where the engine is tuned to make more torque than the V6. GMC has opted for a different application of the engine, slotting it into a logical place in the Acadia lineup and making for a logical trim-level breakdown. For 2020, the SLT and Denali trims will both come standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 230 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This lineup offers a sensible progression and adds value for shoppers at every trim level. It also distinguishes the Acadia's value proposition from the Traverse, making it feel more like a unique product offering. The more aggressive exterior design only helps on that front. The squared-off headlights and big grille are welcome changes for 2020, making the Acadia look more like a GMC truck. We're fans of the tougher appearance, and we're glad to see GMC separating itself and establishing a strong identity. AT4 EverSpeaking of tough, GMC has added an AT4 trim to the 2020 Acadia. With some added cladding and dark accents on the outside, the Acadia AT4 certainly looks the part. While AT4 is meant to be GMC's "off-road" sub-brand, the Acadia AT4 doesn't get any unique trail-busting features. However, it does come standard with AWD and the V6 engine, and it will slot in between the SLT and top-tier Denali trim. That should mean you'll get more power and AWD for less money than the Denali, provided you're willing to forgo some of the Denali's additional luxuries. Add in the styling elements and we think the AT4 makes for an attractive package. Upgrades and UpdatesBeyond the exterior refresh and powertrain improvements, the 2020 Acadia gets some new technology. The 8-inch touchscreen receives a software update, granting the ability to save drivers' preferences into unique profiles. There are also upgrades to the satellite nav and the inclusion of two USB-C ports. Wireless charging is now available, and the high-definition camera that's standard on higher trims has been updated for better image quality. GMC also reports a redesigned center console that allows for more storage space and some suspension fiddling to improve ride quality. Pricing and Release DateGMC has been smart with the 2020 Acadia, and we think shoppers will take note, especially with regard to the improved value proposition from the SLT trim on up. The official MSRP range hasn't been released, but we don't expect it to deviate much from the existing pricing structure. The 2020 GMC Acadia should hit dealerships this fall.
