to all sunny N16 owners who think that your FC is high... forget about expensive oils... forget about fuel saving gadgets... forget about additives... forget about light/heavy footed.... forget about dirty air filters... expensive or copper plugs... auto or manual... amt of load stuff in car... 92 or 95 or 98... alway 4pax in car or highway driving or city driving or watever... the fact is that Sunny is 1.6 DOHC so FC will be will not be as good as cars like Lancer Glxi (SOHC)... Vios (1.5 and so much lighter)... etc... and most ppl think that Sunny jiak you... especially ah laus... let me ask the sunny owners here, young and old... do you know how much Engine oil your sunny needs? i have asked numerous Mechs in Singapore workshops... all i spoke to dont believe Sunny N16 needs 2.5liters of engine oil... max 2.7liters with oil filter... most engine oil bottles come in 4liters... oil service packages come in 4 liters bottles mostly... and most mechanics here in Sg just pour in whatever amount and they estimate and then check with the dip stick... yes there are workshops who measure according to manual but rarely in a regular ws... all sunny owners before you spend $$$ on that snake oil.... before you spend $$$ on that 'most probably wont work' fuel saving gadget.... before you spend any $$$ you think you will waste... put in the correct amount of Engine oil into your sunny N16 and feel the difference in FC... imagine an Engine that needs 2.5-2.7liters of oil, and in goes 3.5liters or more of engine oil... imagine you running in a kids pool, then running in an adult's pool... feel the difference?

Dear All, saw on the ad, both cars got my attention. I am thinking of getting a short term cars to tight over my sales business. Just started my business with my partner. So, we do not wish to fork out too much on car, but car is essential for me. Not considering van for now. Auto short term drive would be ideal, anything that is over 1.5 years would be good as once business stablized or doing better, will opt to upgrade and change to better or newer car. ** i am trading in my proton savvy 5month left car, with2.7 Scarp value plus abit on body. and i do not intend to throw in alot of down payment. max is use my trade in value to offset a little bit. Nissan March, 1.4C Auto. 2004. COE expired 2019 oct? selling 15800, Nissan Sunny, 1.6 Auto, 2006, COE expired May 2021, about 21800-22800 Which one is more ideal? heard sunny is very high FC? how about march? good for short term drive? and if mid way i wana sell off this car, to upgrade, what are the implication and things that i will foresee?

Here we discuss how durable is your car ...... So far my 9 year old Latio super durable and long lasting and seldom gives me problem . I am the first owner and so far no major issue except replace radiator at year 8.5 , ignition coil at year 7.5 , front and back absorber at year 7 and air-con compressor at year 6.5 . The main problem in Latio is high usage of battery and mine only last less than 1.5 year , and recently I use Amaron seen can last longer ! My mileage now 210,000 km and all these while been servicing by TC . What about yours ?

Hei Hei! Greetings from the land of the never-ending sun! Just sharing some tips, info and photos of my current trip :) Some basic info first: Helsinki Helsinki; Swedish: Helsingfors, is the capital and largest city of Finland. It is in the region of Uusimaa, located in southern Finland, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, an arm of the Baltic Sea. Helsinki has a population of 605,523, an urban population of 1,159,211 and a metropolitan population of 1,361,506. Some links to guides: http://www.fodors.com/world/europe/finland/helsinki https://www.lonelyplanet.com/finland/helsinki http://www.visithelsinki.fi/en/come/tourist-information The country of Finland is sandwiched between two larger powers, Sweden to the West and Russian to the right, and both nations have strong influences on this country. In fact the official second language here is Swedish, with signs showing both Finnish and Swedish. English is an optional third language, but many younger people are picking up this for commercial reasons. A basic summary of what’s good here: If you are here in winter, it’s a fabulous place to see the Northern Lights. The scenery is ok, but it’s best to combine it with other Scandinavian countries, as it is not the most exciting place to visit. Food is nice and it is not as expensive as Norway or Sweden (be prepared to spend $50 for two at Macs). If you like mountains, lakes and outdoors, it’s a nice place. It’s also a stepping stone to visit St Petersburg, Estonia and other Scandinavian places. Getting here involves a direct flight with Finnair, or you have to transit, eg from Frankfurt if you take SIA. Not the chpeatest place to visit, but it’s still cheaper than Norway by a large margin. Budget S$30-40 a meal if you do not want to eat Macs all the time. Or bring some cup noodles J Some basic travel tips: You can get a data only card for E7.9 or use roam planning from home. Food tends to be expensive but not as bad as the Scandinavian countries. The trams and buses are excellent and the people are very friendly. Most will speak some English . The city is not too big and a cab ride from the airport takes about 20 minutes and 40 Euros. Their public transportation system is superb, with trams, trains, and the metro. Add cabs and free bicycles in your hotel, it’s fantastic. The terrain is flat and easy to move around. One thing you will notice is how clean their trains are, with no rubbish, or graffiti. In fact you hardly notice any litter, unlike Singapore where despite the proliferation of rubbish bins every ten metres, you still see litter all over. Many hotels offer free bicycles for you to ride around: For such a small city, you have many travel options, and there are these toilets in the metro, where you press the flush system and it will not only flush but spray water out to wash your hands. But it requires some coordination otherwise you might do the wrong thing and end up washing your hands in the water used to flush the toilets! The trains also go out in to the region, and you buy a pass which covers the city or the regional pass, rather than a strictly by distance kind of system. Furthermore, you can get the Helsinki Card for unlimited travel and visits to the museums and other attractions. (https://www.helsinkicard.com/) The days are long here, and the skies never really get dark; this is what it looks like at 11pm: Of course when you visit a new place, you look out for the local food and it's not all fermented herring here.. This white perch is really awesome! The restaurant is floating on a lake: http://www.ravintolameripaviljonki.fi/ It also does nice desserts: And more food: For good oysters and seafood at the Kamppi Centre (which also has funky toilets): Fisken: http://www.fisken.fi/ This makes your regular fish and chip shop weep… and it wasn’t too expensive - < S$20 Plus great coffee too.

My Sunny coming 10 years in next 2 weeks. Had LTA inspection and passed with advice that I change the rusty muffler as the sound will get louder over time. Now that I have renewed my COE, I would like to change the muffler. Any one got advice and the price for the change? Many thanks. I can live with the sound as it does not affect my fuel consumption or any function. But I have 10 years to go from 1 Jul and best I change now. I am prepared to change in JB.

Hi all I'm looking for 2nd handed Sunny N16 sport rims. Was told by a tyre shop where I was repairing a punctured tyre that one of my rims is dented. So I only need 1 replacement. Can anyone tell me where I can find one on sale and cheap? Anyone seen these at any tyre shops in Singapore? Thanks and Regards

To friends/ owner of the white Sunny whom I believe lived at Telok Blangah Cres near the market... I witnessed your car being bumped by a red Subaru this morning at 11.45am while the driver was trying to reverse into the lot, causing damage to your left headlight and also red scratch paint on your bumper as well... I was inside my car when the incident happened and my car cam clearly shows the culprit coming out of his car to check for damage on both his and your car before driving off! I have left a note as well on your windscreen but still yet to get a call from u. Hopefully it's not raining there... Kindly PM me for the video clip and if needed, I am willing to stand as witness for u against the culprit, whom I believed is in his late20s-early 30s.

As I extend driver seat quite far back 5) easily available and affordable spare parts. 6) Point A to Pt B driving. 7) Cold Efficient air-con. PS : I cant afford an Altis nor a VTI, Sushi pls. Hi Bros need advise on the following : Friend's dad got a Sunny Ex-saloon with gearbox problem. when driving 1/2 way sometimes the gear will be stuck at 1st gear resulting in low speed plus high RPM, need to switch off the car then start again then it will be ok. But after driving for sometime it will persist again. checked with WS they said that need to overhaul the gearbox, and they says that Sunny not able to replace the clutch as it comes in a complete module. is it true? ( i suspect just the clutch plates need to be changed. by the way its a Auto Gear) any one facing the same problem and able to advise?? thanks in advance.

Managed to contact Climaxtech and they have EL gauge (Sports edition) for Nissan Sunny, Facelift (horizontal grill). They don't have a picture yet but the effects will look something like this. [inline EL-daytime.jpg]Day [inline EL-Nitetime.jpg]Night Quote for one without group discount is $180 including installation. I need to take a rollcall to see if more is interested to negotiate for a better price. Please list your name here if you are interested. Will state the discounted price before confirmation of orders. 1. Osiris

Here are the instructions on how to remove the glove compartment to access the aircon filter. This is for Nissan Sunny 2004 and Up (Face Lift/Horizontal Grills). It's a very easy task once you know how to. I took some pix to make the instructions clearer. The basic instructions to remove & installed the aircon filter & glove compartment can be found courtesy of Cairefresh (http://www.cairefresh.com/pop-howto-nissan.htm) but actual dismantling of the glove compartment is slightly different for the FL model. 1. Open your glove compartment and clear your stuff. 2. Here's where the instruction differs from Cairefresh. After opening you glove compartment, look on the left side of the glove compartment and locate the hinge shown as 1. Push it and at the same time pull the glove compartment towards you (No. 2). Once it comes off, just pull it out of the identical hinge on the right. [inline "Remove Step 1.jpg"] 3. Follow Cairefresh's instruction 4. Follow Cairefresh's instruction (lift the cover where it says push. slowly remove the whole cover from the top. Remove the filter by gently pulling it out) [inline filter.jpg] 5. After washing the filter (recommended every 10,000km, washing instruction sticker in glove compartment), place the filter back to the slot. Your filter should be placed as shown above with Nissan word upright, though I dunno if it matters. I have numerous dried leaves and 'garbage' after 10 months 6. Follow Cairefresh's instruction 7. Putting back the Glove compartment. Locate the right hinge as shown. You should align it with the 'male' hinge on the bottom right of the glove compartment. Once that is done, snap back the joint on the left side. Once it it properly fixed, the simple job is done. [inline Installing_Cover.jpg]

Dear fellow MCFers, For those who drive the FL N.Sunny, any idea what viscosity & type of engine oil used during the first 3 free servicing (1000km, 5000km & 10000km) & following Nissan Preventive Maintenance Program, NPMP, (20000km, 30000km,40000km & 50000km)? What I heard is - mineral 15W50 for 1000km, 5000km & 10000km (For 10000km, need to top up in order to use synthetic. If not, following NPMP will be 15000km, 25000km, 35000km & 45000km) - synthetic 5W40 for 20000km, 30000km,40000km & 50000km Any idea?
