  1. Source from http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNew...ory_382918.html May 28, 2009 No Chevrolet sale for WBL WBL Corporation (Wearnes) will soon stop selling Chevrolet cars in Singapore. The mainboard-listed company disclosed that the dealership agreement between its subsidiary Starsauto and General Motors (GM) will expire on June 30 and no renewal will be made. Starsauto was appointed by GM as its first Chevrolet dealer in Singapore in 2003. In its statement on Thursday, Wearnes said the move to give up the dealership was in line with ongoing streamlining efforts to strengthen the group's core automotive distribution and service business. 'This will enable Wearnes to focus on segments that provide wider foundations for regional partnerships and growth.' --- I knew it 2 years ago when I found out the hard way that their service was beyond my expectation. Good bye and good riddance. Not sure about Alpine Motors.
  2. I think with so much "bad publicity" about dealership etc.. at least, I wanna offer my opinion on my own servicing during my latest 40K. Can be seen in my blog At least, they managed to SOLVE my problem, though it was after a few complaints.. they changed this, changed that.. but never fully solved it before. What was changed, in all, suspension bushing , link rods, and now even the entire suspension mountings. So almost all new liao.. hahaha. and under warranty, so dun even need to pay for parts. Probably if I had gone to outside workshop, they MIGHT have solved it first round, but I will have to pay for the parts... So I guess, they are not THAT bad..
  3. I am very disappointed that they closed their workshop at Leng Kee. Ubi is terrible for people like me who stayed in the west and work in CBD. There is no public transport too. They should open their other workshop in Leng Kee for those that need this service. I will stop going to the agent if they don't do that.
  4. Went for my 40000km servicing(the big one) on Tuesday and the service given was wonderful. The guy who served me (by the name of Kumar) was exceptionally polite. My car has some minor problems but one issue involved the steering rack. He took down my problems and even offered to call a cab for me back to my office (it was raining that day) Anyway, I didn't take the cab and walk over to the showroom instead. Was looking at the Optra 5 and the salesman came over. I told him I just came to service my car, but he said it is ok, he will still run through the car with me and explain to me the new features. Again, exceptionally polite. Did they just run a courtesy campaign there? Then Kumar called me few times during the day to tell me the condition of the repair and before he replace anything, he always ask for my permission first. Honestly, I getting a bit scare with the politeness but I think it is a good thing. I am suppose to collect back my car at 6pm but I reach there at 6.40pm. I can see the receptionist pacing up and down (i think they are closing) but upon seeing me, the whole set of politeness start coming out again. Kumar again went through what they have did to my car and for the steering rack, they are going to order one and replace it for me. Finally today after two days, Kumar called me again to update me on the steering rack and ask me how is the car after the servicing. I am not a fussy person, so I told him that the car is running well. I am impressed.

  6. I always see some Chevy owners ask the technical people touch up paints on their bumper which had scratch marks. May I know if they do it free for owners?
  7. Dont quite like the following words appearing on my Optra's number plate (front and back): "StarsAuto - Home of Chevrolet" I suggested to SE that I preferred not to have such messages on the number plates before I took over the car but SE told me that the number plates are standard. What to do? I would have preferred something more neutral such as the one appearing on Matrix - "Designo di Pininfarina" - sounds more stylo. How to change hah?
  8. Hi guys, I think i might be going for my 5000km servicing one of these days, is it ok not to use their F1 oil and use my own Amsoil own instead?? In the first place, will they allow me to use syn oil in the 5K servicing??
  9. Hi guys, after my long observation, I would like to recommend a good SE if u r buying a car from Starsauto. His name is Mr Zul. To me he is a good and reliable SE for after sales service. Knows every details of the car u asked for. When I 1st test drove the Aveo which I finally bought, actually I didn't like the looks of it. However, he let me test drove the car pass bedok, up a highway slope etc, and I'm convinced it's a good car. Other car makes only let test drive around their vicinity. My SE told me regardless of wat brand I have to 'feel' the car 1st. Only then I decide. And now I'm begining to fall in love with my Aveo. When my car hit a pillar at the multi-storey carpark, he came immediately to take a look at it. It's about 10pm if remember correctly. Even for my 1st servicing, he did the booking for me. By the way, I'm not here to promote on behalf of Starsauto. Just that, I think some good people deserve good comments.
