  1. With a long standing tradition of building compact, open top sports cars that started with the S600 and ending with the S2000, Honda seems intent to get back into the game. After seeing the success Toyota/Subaru has had with the 86/BRZ, Honda is primed to one-up its rivals. According to a source within Honda, a new affordable sports car is being seriously considered, but don't expect something as high-end as the S2000 - think small, quick and light. The car would be small, probably even smaller than the Mazda MX-5, and come equipped with either a 1.3-litre or 1.5-litre in-line four with i-VTEC. Keep your expectations low on its power output, but thanks to its light weight which is rumored to sit around 900kg, the car should have adequate acceleration along with good handling and an overall agile driving experience. There's even talk that the "S1500" may come with a mid-engine layout, in the style of the Honda Beat. As for the car's design direction, Honda would either use the Japan-only N-ONE or make it look more like the current Civic. We reckon the N-ONE's styling would do justice because it pays homage to the iconic S600. Rumours of a new Honda roadster have appeared and disappeared with tide-like regularity since the moment the S2000 died, and none of them have come to pass. The NSX revival was followed by nearly a decade of will-they, won't-they rumours and telephone-game whispers before Honda actually buckled down and built something. It seems like the same thing could be happening here. Either way, let's wait for Honda to come up with this answer to the Toyota 86 and the Mazda MX-5 in 2015 or 2016.

  3. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta has won rave reviews since its Swiss debut and has inevitably invited speculation of further variants. Just last week, a speculative rendering of an open-top Spyder Berlinetta was posted online. Now, automotive artist Iacoski (Iacoiski.com), has fuelled the speculations by showing us what an extreme track-focused Berlinetta would look like. The 599 GTB that preceeded the F12 Berlinetta was also treated to a similar model, known as the Ferrari 599XX and boasted a power boost from the standard 612hp up to 720hp. Taking this piece of history into consideration, we could expect a the F12XX Berlinetta to produce in excess of 790hp. Add in the array of performance enhancing and weight reducing parts and we should see a 0-100 km/h time of under 3 seconds. While it is only a speculative rendering at the moment, it does give the fans and maybe even the Italian carmaker something to think about.
  4. Yaw Shin Leong haven't warm his Hougang seat, so many scandal lai liao... Who's the one who want to ensure transparency and accountability? So rumour is that Yaw Shin Leong is having an affair with his WP comrade Angela Oon http://www.tremeritus.com/2012/01/20/exclu...marital-affair/
  5. Magny Cours is a potential replacement venue should the inaugural Korean grand prix fall off the 2010 calendar. That is the rumour published in the latest edition of France's Auto Hebdo magazine. Last month, Bernie Ecclestone even visited the site of October's Korean race and told the media that the October date is definitely still on. But the uncertainty about the event has persisted, and Auto Hebdo reports that teams do not want to see the calendar shrink from the scheduled 19 races at short notice. Magny Cours is famously not the F1 chief executive's favourite venue, but Auto Hebdo says the idea of being a reserve track for Korea is the idea of Gilles Depeigneux, an advisor to prime minister Francois Fillon. The stumbling blocks, however, are said to be the EUR20 million budget as well as political opposition. Source: GMM
