Atkinson, best known for his role in Mr Bean, completed the track more than half a second faster than the previous record holder John Bishop. The show's presenter Jeremy Clarkson said he was impressed by car-lover Atkinson's time of 1:42.2 seconds. "What is interesting is all your times were very consistent, as is the mark of a great racing driver," Clarkson told Atkinson on the show. "Turns out you're in the wrong career."
