  1. I have always had high regards for Vincent, he comes across as putting customers first. I believe alot of people would attest to his repo with the customers on this forum. However after charging me for "using your own parts", he bear grudges for over a year and told me off last week saying that "I CANNOT BRING MY OWN" spares parts anymore. Oh well, up for awareness. Looking for other reliable workshops now for Merc.
  2. Fluids Fuel pump assembly removed completely Original fuel filter P/N. Comparison between new brake fluid and one that is 3 years old Breakdown of costs: Self Supplied Engine Oil CLTR 5W40 - $29.90 Oil Filter - $6.00 Brake Fluid (1L) - $7.35 Fuel Strainer - $39.90 Red Line MTL (2 quarts) - $46.00 From Riverview Labour - $100.00 Surcharge for Self Supplied items - $30.00 Total: $259.15 Time taken was approx. 3 hours. [/color] Comments: Could save more if I didn't change the manual transmission fluid. Changed it because KM used a wrong spec for it when they changed mine at 20k (wth they do that, I do not know.) Did not change coolant as well, which costs $20 for 4L at Riverview. During the servicing the mechanic, Ah Chin, went through with me the parts that he replaced and in some instances explaining in detail, especially the part on the fuel strainer. Upon re-assembly of the fuel pump back into the rear, a pressure gauge was used to test for the presence of any leakage (if there was, the fuel pump assembly was not tightened properly and cranking would take a longer time, or even be not possible.) Brake pads were also not required to be changed (still using day one originals) OEM Nissin ones cost $50.40, which I brought along just in case. After completion of servicing, the boss, Vincent took the car together with me for a drive to check for any anomalies. Finally, after everything was done, a car wash, including the engine bay, which left the insides spick and span.
