Does anyone know much SAF regulars make a month? Is it true the LTCs and COLs make at least $10k +? What about fighter pilots? Junior officers?

R.I.P. A SAF regular died in Nee Soon Camp Yahoo news: SAF regular found dead at Nee Soon Camp A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular of Military Expert 2 (ME2) rank is believed to have died at Nee Soon Camp on Friday morning. Yahoo Singapore understands the deceased, whose name has not been revealed, was a senior course instructor from the SAF’s Medical Training Institute. He is believed to have hanged himself. It is not clear if the deceased was pronounced dead at Nee Soon Camp or elsewhere. An ambulance, CID (Criminal Investigation Department) vehicle, five police cars, and military police were spotted by an eyewitness at Nee Soon Camp around the time of the incident, said to be 8.15am. If confirmed, this would be the third suicide by hanging of an SAF regular in the last three years, after a 2nd Sergeant at Changi Naval Base in 2012 and a 1st Warrant Officer at a Lentor training area in 2013. link: https://sg.news.yahoo.com/saf-regular-found-dead-at-nee-soon-camp-052535123.html

Can anyone advise if it is possible to recycle regular alkaline/heavy duty batteries? I have read that rechargeable batteries are recyclable, but found nothing about regular single use batteries. Personal belief that we are using a lot, and perhaps we can do more to re-use, re-purpose and recycle stuff. Thanks!

35-year-old gets coveted Golden Bayonet award Cadet outshines much younger trainees to clinch award. Timothy Goh Updated today at 09:27 AM HE IS more than a dozen years older than most of his peers. And Specialist Cadet (SCT) Yong Heng Soon was also ahead of them in clinching the Golden Bayonet award at the 23rd Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade yesterday at Pasir Laba Camp. The 35-year-old was one of 1,003 Specialist Cadets from the Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Navy and the Republic of Singapore Air Force who graduated after completing a 22-week course. Only 21 cadets received the coveted Golden Bayonet, awarded to the top 10 per cent of all Specialist Cadet trainees. Said the father of two children aged two and four: "I didn't really expect it - I came here with the objective to get the Third Sergeant (3SG) rank, not to fight for the Bayonet." Having joined the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) as an enlistee in 1999, SCT Yong worked his way up the ranks until late last year, when he was chosen to go for training at the Specialist Cadet School. In contrast, most cadets are full-time national servicemen picked after basic military training and are aged between 18 and 22. The 22 weeks of training to attain the rank of 3SG were challenging but his time in the SAF had taught him perseverance. "As a commander, I have more freedom, but also more responsibility," he said. The experience has also broadened his perspective. "Last time I was (an enlistee), now I will be a Sergeant... Now I know how the Sergeants felt when they led us, what lines we cannot cross," he said. However, one of his toughest moments had nothing to do with the training. His wife and children fell sick when he was training in Thailand. "I wanted to give up, to go back and take care of them. But we encouraged and motivated each other, and got through it," he said. SCT Yong said his age and experience made him a natural guide for the younger trainees. He hopes to continue his SAF career, eventually becoming a Warrant Officer if possible. The parade was reviewed by Senior Minister of State for Law and Education Indranee Rajah. Addressing the cadets, she said: "You are now entrusted with the heavy responsibility of leading men and women into battle... lead them by example and with conviction." [email protected]

Visited Wan Yang for the past one year. Personally i kinda like their service, although most of the time was served by different people in the same outlet (causeway point) but the experience was never disappointing. The shi fu station @ causeway point are well experience and always explain clearly to me what are the do's and don't. Somehow i feel with regular foot reflexology it helps to improve my migraine condition. Sharing my past experience with different outlets/Shi Fu: 師傅: Changi Airport - Anyhow, one of the worst outlet i visited City Square Mall- Good Service and slot are kinda of flexible Ang Mo Kio - Depending on "shi fu" mood Parkway Parade - Very chatty, skill so-so Suntec City - Not too bad, just that its not fully equip at the moment (they are moving). Plaza Singapura - Shi fu skill above average, slot are kinda of flexible. Anyone visited other outlets, care to share more information's?

Just drop my IS to BM Lexus for 40k servicing, went to BM coz rekon the service pricing is okay... had a call later during the day by the CSO telling me: 1. Aircon filter need to change: 190 bucks 2. Front disc rotor might need replacement after another 10k or so: 1.2k I like o_O... just drop lexus stockiet He Xing a call, original lexus aircon filter: 39 bucks, 3rd party 28 bucks. Getting it next week. Due to the amount of work required the service mgr told me might only be able to finish late the same day. Due to other commitment unable to collect the car on the same day, I opt to collect next day morning. 2nd day, collected my car. To my horror, there are assorted new scratch around the car. One line at rear bumper, another two scratch area at both rear door. ..sigh.. The service mgr say bm will respray for me. Will sent in another day. My question is, do you guys think it is possible to demand for them to pay while I sent my car to some other spray shop? No confident in letting BM rectifying it. Bm is loosing my trust after first encounter already. :(

I was wondering how they leverage 5 times to get 1.4t and stumble upon this... <Not long ago, European governments were blasting the financial products which contributed to the 2008 meltdown. Now, in an attempt to save the common currency, they are turning to those methods themselves. They have become no less dangerous in the intervening years.> click to read more... http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe...,794025,00.html

Currently I use Zymol wax, and was told I can only wax at most once every 2 months. But when come to end of 1 month, already very very "buay tahan", the original water gloss shine is all but gone (to me at least). I saw in the supermarket there are those spray on quick wax (various brands). Is it possible to use them on top of the Zymol wax that I have applied? Would it damage the paintwork in anyway? If it's not possible, then please tell me if there are any other ways to kind of "seal" in the water gloss kind of shine for longer period of time? Why must I wait 2 months? Why can't I wax as soon as the shine is fading anyway?

Anyone knows what's the octane rating for the above? How about Synergy F1? Just got back from Jaybee and this is my virgin pump of Synergy regular but suddenly I thought, what's the octane level for it?

I started a post trying to get real evidence/ first hand experience with skidding on aspec DBs here: http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Aftermarke...y;so=ASC;mh=-1; Lots of responses, some real experiences but IMHO, not too many to confirm that Aspec DBs are dangerours in the wet. So I thought it would be interesting to widen the question to what other tyres have you skidded on to get a better read. I'll start: Tyre: Continental Sports Contact II Road: HDB Multi-storey carpark - concrete Situation: Everytime without fail when its wet, ABS kicks in even at 20-30kmh speeds.

Hi All, just like to find out how much 'protection money' are most people paying to the AD to service their cars in order to maintain their 'warranty'. Also if you can contribute and put in the servicing fee for regular 10k servicing, which includes synthetic oil, oil filter and maybe air filter. As part of the plan to get everyond in the meetup to learn and appreciate music better one of the experiemental new item that we plan to do is to review an (audiophile) CD each week so that ICE/Home Hifi lovers will expand their musical horizon. What we will do is to pick a few tracks from a CD each week.do some auditon (not hi-fi sense) and we will sampling on one of our member vehicle (preferably a MPV, so that we can 5-6 member to do the session together). Hopefully this would be volunteered and rotated among music lovers so that we are in diversity and have an enjoyable evening home. Since being seen pioneer in this idea (acutally i have done that in my tertiary days), let me kick this off. I will get our interested members to reference to one of my favourite disc which i have been listening for at least 18 years. Radka Toneff - Fairytales. - Genre: Jazz and Recital. Publised on LP 1979, Odin 1982 CD. Synopsis TONEFF, Radka (b 25 June '52, Oslo, Norway; d 21 Oct. '82) FairyTales '82 on Odin (duet with Steve Dobrogosz). FairyTales was off-putting for jazz purists because of its title and 'new-agey' cover art, but was her best album, with a version of 'The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress' soon issued on an Odin CD sampler: people who heard it began scrambling for Toneff's albums, but she was already gone. Her sudden death was described by newspapers as a suicide, but friends said that although she brought it on herself, it was an accident Session suggestion to start : 2300 hours. Period 10 minutes. Interested Parties: (just post your name here) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Thanks and hope to see you.
