I did a forum search on 'Adblue' and no results came up. So I am starting this thread to share with you a recent Adblue refill experience on a rental Audi A6 Diesel Estate car, while on holiday in the UK. My family had gone to the UK for a driving holiday this winter. We rented from a company called SIXT, picked up the car at London Heathrow on arrival, and drove out of London immediately on the day we landed. In winter, hours with light were shorter so I had to maximise daylight time for all the driving I had to do. The plan was to go as far north as Glasgow and Edinburgh, before driving back to London. I had booked an Estate Car (so that we get more boot space for all our luggage). I had hoped to get the Mercedes E-class estate but they issued me with an Audi A6 Estate instead. No matter, since this was the car in the same category of rental. This is what the car looked like. It was quite long. The boot was very spacious, as with most estate cars. The car was almost brand new, with just over 3,000 miles on the odometer. Plenty of gadgets to play with, including a very useful Satellite Navigation system that brought us to our destinations efficiently. The car was roomy and the boot (or trunk) space was very good. We had plenty of luggage. Here is a video of the car, including the Sat-Nav system. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think that this model of car (Audi A6 Estate Diesel) is available in Singapore. Now, the point of this post is not just to show you the car, but to talk about my virgin Adblue experience, which will be the topic of the next post.

Would like to know what's your petrol refill habit like? Some will refill if the tank is half, some like to refill whenever they see a kiosk, some will only refill it full tank when the needle touch the E and some even only refill when the lights up! Have your say................

I try making my own refill, cos I find market ones too ex and cannot customise it. You also get to recycle the glass container as well more environmentally friendly. Furthermore its not too hard as well. This is the mixture which I tried hope you guys enjoy it. Things you need. 1. Used empty fragance bottle 2. Perfume or cologne which you want to use (I put in CK-one). 3. Un-scented Baby Lotion (I use NUTC brand) 4. Glycrine (you can get it from chinese medical shops) Method 1. Clean the used bottle. Mostly likely you cannot clean out the old smell, but its ok. 2. Pour in the baby lotion abt 1/5 of the bottle vol. 1/5 Glycrine. 3. Pour in 3/5 of the desired scent. 4. Shake a bit so its emsulified a little. But the baby lotion will separate out later. its ok. The baby lotion will not dissolve into the perfume/cologne. It will extract some of the scent modules into it, but most imptly it controls the evaporation rate of the water-base perfume/colgone. Without the baby lotion, the evaporation is too fast..it only last a week. The mix will last more than a month. The glycrine acts as a thickener and helps to bind the baby lotion & perfume. Its actually the stuff that's added to commerical bubbles, which make them last longer.

Was at Autobac last weekend, saw this thing that is supposed to fill up tyres with some compound if there has been a puncture, and can continue driving until u can find a replacement. Any comment if sure it works? And on the shelf, the maximum is up to 17" rim... (knn.. shouldn't have upsized) Anyone knows if 2 cans can be used instead, or a place that sells for 18"?

I am using a HP F2120 and have a question regarding its ink. The original black ink HP21 cost about $25 and it uses up very fast. I am thinking of using cheaper compatible ink, or ink refills. Anyone had bad experience with using cheaper inks/refills? Will it damage the printing mechanism? Thanks for your inputs. Your reply need not be specific to this model. Your experience with ink refills on other brands/models would be greatly appreciated too.

Yesterday I went for my regular oil change. Previously using Mobil Delvac MX 15W40, and yesterday switched to cxxxxxe 5W40. I still have remaining 1 liter of Delvac MX, so I asked the mechanic to pour it in to flush out the remaining oil after draining out the old oil..... To my surprise, even when the old oil had been completely drained out, there is still much dirty oil inside the engine. Approximately 80% of the new oil (remaining 1 liter Delvac MX) that went in comes out as dirty looking as the old oil. It is only after the rest of the dirty looking oil had flow out, then the colour gets lighter looking. Having witnessed that, I wonder if the usual drain and refill method during oil change will be sufficient? Perhaps it will be good to occasionally use some fresh oil to flush out the remaining oil inside the engine during oil change? Any thoughts on this?
