Kuyt scored for Holland from the spot to start the 5-0 thumping. New boy Miereles bagged one for Portugal. Most heartening, Torres' brace for Spain indicated that he is not too far away from full fitness.

This weekend EPL (Sunday, 21/12/08) will see Liverpool playing away to Arsenal....... Who will eventually emerge the winner ? My prediction is another disappointment draw for Liverpool ..... Arsenal currently having takeover speculation as reported at ESPN. ESPN Soccernet reports: The departure of major shareholder Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith from the company board was announced last night, along with Richard Carr, a director for 27 years. Arsenal are the last remaining member of the Premier League 'big four' to be in British ownership, and the board all signed up to a lockdown agreement meaning the first option on any sale of shares must be given to existing board members until 2012, so as to stave off any potential hostile bid from outside. However, Hill-Wood could offer no guarantees of where Lady Bracewell-Smith's holding may eventually now end up. American sports tycoon Stan Kroenke, who holds around a 12% stake in the Gunners parent company, accepted the offer to become a non-executive director on the Arsenal board in September as ties with his Kroenke Sports Enterprises group were strengthened, and he could be tempted to invest further. However, Uzbekistan metals magnate Alisher Usmanov - who bought into Arsenal when he paid former vice-chairman David Dein around

EPL: The Reds Million Pound Flops ...................
Maxus-MIFA9 posted a topic in Football Channel
After seeing the last weekends games, I could only sum up one thing about the Reds (Liverpool & Man U) are, they are wasting million of pound on 2 flops........ Liverpool : spending 20 million pound on Robbie Keane for running around aimlessly and shooting like secondary school boys playing for their school in inter school soccer competition ........ . Few times caught him passing to no man lands.... and doesn't click well with Torres until Babel came into the field. Man U : spending 30.7 million pound on Dimitar Berbatov who is just as aimless as RK throughout the game against Chelsea. He even help to block a shot by Darren Fletcher in the opening 10 minutes from inside the penatly box. I was hoping that he will be replaced but instead, Park was replace by John O'Shea and Carlos Tevez was warming the bench. Poor Rooney had to play in midfield and at times help in defence (receive a yellow) where he is a striker by nature. Where is Berbatov SAF weird....... But should give both of them full marks when they were in Spurs as 2 aimless strikers combine well just like the scientific term - 2 negative add together gave positive results... ...... So now split the 2 and they are lost...... Why Liverpool pay 20 million pound on a 28 yrs old striker and refuse to pay 17 million pound on a defensive midfielder Barry........ RB another weird...... My 2 cent worth of commence........ -
Clashes of the RED's this weekends when the "Red Devil's" (Man U) will meet "The Reds" (Liverpool) in the EPL .......... Who will come out victory .......... SAF had been very quite so far while RB is sweating with injuries to SG and Torres ....... (quote from ESPN Soccernet report : "It is always more difficult to prepare for the match with injuries because you know that if they are fit we will use them, but in this case you never know," Benitez said. "It is better to avoid saying whether they can be available - it is difficult to say if they can play or not because they may have not played for 10 or 15 days. "But they are both working hard with the physios and are improving, so there's still some time to decide." Benitez remains optimistic about Gerrard, although he has confidence in the rest of the squad should his captain not make it.) For me, its will be .... LIVERPOOL , for ........ YNWA but I....'IWAAH' ....

Ha...ha...ha..., even before the highly charged match, Liverpool are already nervous about this Sunday match against their bitter rival - Arsenal. Their goalkeeper (Reds) Jose Reina spoke before the match aganist the Gunners. Sign of trouble ahead. As reported in ESPN Soccernet:- "Jose Reina insists Liverpool must use Sunday's tough clash with Arsenal to get their act together in time for a late charge in Europe. Liverpool are facing the prospect of not qualifying from the Champions League group stages following their disastrous defeat by Besiktas on Wednesday. Now they face leaders Arsenal at Anfield in a clash of the Premier League's only remaining unbeaten clubs. Spanish goalkeeper Reina said: 'We believed we played a good game in Istanbul, to be honest, we were just very unlucky in front of goal. 'But it is not good at all, that is clear. We must keep going and try to improve. 'We must now concentrate on a very important game against Arsenal. We can put things right if we can beat them.'" So............. let me starts the ball rolling. Will Liverpool beat against Arsenal ? Although I am a Liverpool supporter, I am afraid that tomorrow clash would be Liverpool 1st lost of the season. . Today The New Paper (page 70) stated that "At Anfield, Reds are bulletproof" but Gunners are using cannon............

Sami Hyypia scores again but for the wrong side. As reported at ESPN Soccernet : In the city that saw Liverpool's greatest triumph of modern times, their involvement in this season's Champions League was all but ended. Liverpool were behind early on to a Serdar Ozkan effort which deflected in off central defender Sami Hyypia. And from then on the Anfield men toiled and laboured in an increasingly desperate attempt to avoid a humiliating defeat. Liverpool's obvious need to win this clash was underlined by the inclusion of two wingers - Ryan Babel and Jermaine Pennant - in Rafael Benitez's starting line-up. There were just two changes from the side that won at Everton on Saturday, Gerrard was back in the centre of midfield, with Mohamed Sissoko and Yossi Benayoun left out. Although in control 0f 64% possession, Liverpool can kiss goodbye to Champ League soccer. For sure, I will not loose my sleep over this Sunday match against Arsenal.
