I was told to redline to 7000rpm for 1minute to clear carbon builtup in car every 3months or so. Is this car mechanic advise true or just BS? Expert advise please.

I noticed that if I constantly high rev and max speed on my drives up north, the engine oil tend to decrease a bit. First I thought it was leaking but on inspection, there was no visible trace of a leakage. Any info welcome.
